Relationship Note on Cleo
You bent the knee to the Compact.
Your people are now the people of the Compact. By joining the Compact, you abandoned the Abandoned and became a Prodigal. We do not ask that you give up your proud traditions, only that you obey a certain set of laws set forth, that you agreed to and swore and Oath to.
Lord Arik using his native tongue in the ward that he calls home in a public place is absolutely no crime, nor is it by any stretch of the imagination tyrannical. However, if you are referencing a tribe outside of the Compact that has not bent the knee and still claim familial ties with them? This is a crime. I will happily escort you to our borders so you may rejoin them.
Furthermore, if Lord Arik, Minister of Warfare and Sword of Whitehold, feels that this tribe is a threat to the safety of his home or Compact, Halfshav will have Crovane's full support in neutralizing the threat - which he is in his full right to do.
-Duchess Inquisitor Ann Crovane

Well I did encourage you to get creative and you have not disappointed me in the least!
You will obviously make a wonderful Minister of Coin. Sometimes skulls need to be crushed.
I am really not surprised you are Asger's cousin now.

Firstly, to Prince Ainsley, as he headed up a major project on behalf of Stormwall (and Darkwater). As I understand it, he raised a sizable amount of money for relief and rebuilding efforts that have taken place on both fronts.
Thank you Prince Aiden, Marquessa Samantha Deepwood for personally visiting Stormwall and ensuring that the materials were put to good use as well as keeping morale in the city up - I hear our people's hearts have been lightened by your presence.
Marquessa Deepwood, especially - I realize House Crovane and House Deepwood haven't entirely gotten along in the past and to feel your presence there speaks volumes about you. <3
Thank you Duke Harlan, Lady Olivia, and Sir Jordan
Thank you Sir Jordan for protecting the caravans and making certain that they make it there safely.
Thank you Duke Harlan for helping supply funding for supplies.
Thank you Lady Olivia to seeing to the health of our people - especially during such a sticky, sticky situation.
Thank you Princess Roxana for lending your diplomacy and charisma and your fund raising efforts.
And lastly, a special thank you for those of the major project that helped in Darkwater. I sincerely hope to see it rebuilt to its former glory and wish you all the best, on behalf of House Crovane. If there's any projects like this in the future you should need assistance with please don't hesitate to reach out to House Crovane.

Maybe just as beautiful as seeing Orazio /lounge/ in a hammock. It was delightful, was it not?

I would like to recognize you all by name - and my notes are scattered. Let me try to gather them and touch on a few important acknowledgements:
Josephine Arcuri - A new, gifted crafter in the city has been selling Northern-themed items of note, and her proceeds have gone to help funding the rebuilding of Stormwall. Thank you, Josephine.
Mae Culler and Marian Redrain - with their color run so significantly successful, donated a portion of their proceeds to the rebuilding of Stormwall and Marian has been actively encouraging trade in the North to help raise writs on behalf of the NDC - which brings us to
The NDC - Khanne, on their behalf has donated a /significant/ amount of writs for the rebuilding and, well, we are moved beyond words. Thank you, all.
Orazio, on behalf of The Faith - A significant donation that has almost seen us to the end of our goals! We couldn't have done any of this without the Faith - from the defense to the rebuilding. Thank you.
House Gilden - Also a significant donation from House Gilden from the Baron himself. It was neither asked for, nor expected. Your generosity speaks volumes about you.
The Crown - with Rook's help, the Crown has given a good chunk of economic support to go toward the next phase of rebuilding efforts. Thank you King Alaric, and also thank you Rook for facilitating.
Others have helped in other capacities, including Valery, Briar, Signe, Malena, Elana, and everyone that helped with the investigation process - your support by lending your keen minds to the sticky situation we are left with has been invaluable.
There are others that escape my current notes - I'm not sure why some of them have been turned into paper airplanes, but - I know I'm forgetting names. It's been a whirlwind for me and please forgive me for not mentioning you but, thank you.

Relationship Note on Seymour
Thanks to Seymour Oak keeping the supply lines open, a trading post going, and masons and other needed artisans/crafters at the ready before we were even able to start to rebuild, the city is progressing far, far more quickly than I have ever expected.
I thought at first I might selfishly keep this information to myself, but... we couldn't have kept the city supplied during the war without him and we definitely couldn't have begun to rebuild and get it done so quickly without this man. Credit where credit is due - and he deserves it. He's reliable, efficient, and great at his job.

1. Investigate. See if anything like this tar pit has been seen or recorded before and how it was dealt with. It is decidedly different than the blight that hit the Gray Forest when Brand came through. Knowledge on this will be key. I am currently tied up with an investigation related to something else so I have asked a friend to head up this investigation so those that have contacted me regarding this may be hearing from him next week.
1.5. Investigate the red flowers that have arisen in honor of Eirlys. I have asked a friend to head up this investigation (as an @action). Collect samples and send to her friends and family as well as see if they have any strange or useful properties and to get enough samples to keep here in Arx should she need to cultivate them for medicinal or alchemical properties. I have yet to hear if she is going to accept the project but if she does I will be leaving her to reach out to those she knows may be able to help since I am woefully ignorant.
2. After the investigation completes, we will use any information we have gathered to dispose of the blight. A team will be assembled (another separate @action) to investigate if the investigation is unsuccessful they will need someone to experiment and research the substance before the cleanup begins. I have as of yet to delegate a leader for this operation but I know there are many that have reached out. Thank you! Please be patient!
3. In the interim we must raise 2300 writs (or more, for the cleanup cost will have to be covered). So far 7000 have gotten this started. Its my hope to be completed before winter sets in.
We will be raising funds with events and accepting donations in the interim. All donations may be directed to myself, Asger, or deposited into the Crovane account.
That is a rough outline and if you have any questions Asger and myself will be at the Assembly of Peers tonight to answer them.

At first glance, most would think Stormwall was effectively entirely destroyed, with almost all of the surrounding infrastructure of the duchy essentially rendered useless and needing to be completely rebuilt. The ships the Gyre used are disturbing, since -none- of them should have been seaworthy or capable of staying afloat, making them effectively impossible to repair and put into service (it would be far cheaper to do fresh builds), with minimal use in salvage.
On the subject of Abyssal taint, there's no sign of it in Stormwall itself, but there's a different story near the pass where Lady Eirlys fell from the attacker that everyone present could easily call a demon, and most of the rest of the Compact dismisses the notion out of hand. It's a strange counterpoint of grounds. Where Lady Eirlys herself died is bright and verdant, with remarkable growth, a bright field of flowers that shouldn't even be found this far north. But some of the area where the creature strode over has turned into a noxious tar pit that only recently appeared, boiling and choking out all growth nearby. Animals avoid it, though there's rumors among the refugees that some people have gone missing at night when they were near the pass.
Evil tar pits aside, the party surveying efforts are incredibly successful when it comes to time to trying to piece together every not-entirely-totally-destroyed fragment of infrastructure they can build on, and are able to cut potential rebuilding costs to a tremendous degree.
((Cost of rebuilding a duchy would be 50,000 economic resources. Success of 426 along with resources and AP dedicated factors into a 27349.2 cost reduction, for a current bill of 22650 projected economic cost of rebuilding. Which can be done incrementally.))
----
It seems the Gods and Spirits have not forgotten Eirlys and in their own way have shown their thanks for her sacrifice.
This place is to remain sacred and Holy, and spared, preserved for future generations. We will mark this place with something to honor her with - if there is an artisan out there who feels especially inclined to donate a sculpture of her at this time, we will gladly have it placed here, along with her story so she shall be remembered for future generations to come.
----
Asger has made a Proclamation decreeing that the tar pits are condemned. Do not go near them - especially at night.
----
Crovane is also currently also seeking donations of economic writs or support trade - every little bit counts. We stand, right now, on 7,000 economic writs which leaves us in a deficit of 15,650. We urge our family and vassals to work toward reaching out to make trade pacts with us or for us during this time so that we do not burden our lieges.
----
Furthermore, many charity events will be held in the coming weeks to help generate the writs needed to see Stormwall whole again. It's our dream to have it done before winter sets in and we may be forced to halt productivity.
As the spirit said to me - to Asger - to Khanne, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". We start our first step now.
Thank you, everyone, that has contributed thus far. We look forward to cultivating new and lasting relationships in the face of adversity.
