One of the best things that have happened to me is being joined by two of my greatest friends from back home. It took some convincing of their family to allow them to come but my life has been made so much brighter by their arrival. Especially now that they are both here safe and sound.
Now, to keep them out of trouble... which is going to be harder than anticipated it seems.

I attended my first Shadow Carnival and got to spend the evening with one of my most cherished friends and her husband. It is never a dull moment when it is spent with Lady Cadenza.
The Shadow Carnival itself was wonderful, too. I got to reach my hand into the murky unknown and pull out a little treasure. Not sure what I shall do with it, but it is a nice keepsake from a night of shadows and mystery.

Scholar's Note: The princess seems really excited. Really, really excited. She couldn't stop squealing and shaking a stuffed, plush rabbit at me. I think it may have been a present. Relationship Note on Otakar
I have few memories of my childhood with Prince Otakar in them--but he remembers me and my 'dead tree' painting period I went through at one point. Yes, yes, everyone--that was indeed me. I thought someone would have figured it out by now! ...Surprise?
I am so glad that he is here and that we can get to know one another much better. And that he really wants to be my 'most favorite cousin'. Even if he is technically much closer in relation to my already 'most favorite cousin' than I am. He has his work cut out for him, but he's got a good spirit about the trying.
Either way, having him here is a wonderful thing for the family and I am so happy to spend time with him and get him acclimated to the city.

Prince Barric generously gave me the hour of time he won with my sister so that I might do her hair in preparation for the day she will be spending in a lovely gown thanks to the bet she lost to me.
I might also need an extra set of hands, or two. I don't know how long it has been since a comb has been attempted on those lovely red tresses, but she's broken her fair share of them over the years. I do so adore a good challenge.

So it has finally happened: I am the proud owner of some fine leather armor. It is lovely and fits me well. It isn't a gown, but I know a few people who will be happier to know I am making steps toward the promises I have made.
I am not happy that this means people will soon want to start hitting me and call it 'practice' or some other silliness.
My guards might be first in line for the chance.
I have assured the scholar I am simply joking. My guards adore me and simply cannot wait for new ribbons for their armor and more time chasing after Simon in the gardens.
