I love the Winter, but I am happy that the Spring is here and that it is warming up. There will be much to do. A lot of it not good if the visitors to our shores are any indication as to what is on the horizon. But we will persevere and make it through this.

Benny loves the bathtub...a bit too much.
(The scholar is looking at me like I have grown a third head over the beaver that's following me around.)
He just appeared really. His name is Benny. I figured if he wanted to go away he would. I'm not crazy. Really. It also appears that he's not tried to eat any of the beds or tables in the Lodge. So that's a plus. Maybe he'll start to figure out that he's not a pet sometime.

I am very unsettled by the events of the past few days. I've not been this emotional since I was a young girl and my mother was telling me of things. Now I'm questioning my own sanity.
I should get more sleep maybe.

The Winter Festival was had and it was so much fun to host and to set up. I wanted to thank everyone who came out and enjoyed the atmosphere. I also wanted to thank everyone who came out and participated in our contests. I enjoyed very much in having the trophies made for each of the contests and I hope to have it done for next year as well.

Relationship Note on Mirk
I wanted to thank Lord Mirk Halfshav for being my co-host for the events this week. It helps a lot that the Halfshav family has been working so close with one of their vassal houses and helping out with things.

We held Beards and Brews tonight at The Spirits. Lord Mirk Halfshav was my co-host as Lord Arik Halfshav was detained by things beyond his control. It was a wonderful little event that I look forward to hosting again in the Spring once the snow melts and things are thawed. Duke Vercyn was the best beard, Legate Aureth was the best decorated and Lady Carita was our Honorable Mention. I did love her intriguing beard choice!
I am glad that so many people came out and that so many participated. It makes me so proud that people will come and be accepting of others no matter where they come from in order to have a bit of fun and to share a drink. It was an enjoyable evening and one that I will remember.

Relationship Note on Jyri
It's been snowing so much that I felt like I was back home for a moment. That didn't stop me from visiting some of the local shops today. I wanted to take a few moments and explore the city since I've been doing so much. I found Jyri's Paintings and I have to say that the man is extremely talented and I ended up leaving the shop with two of his pieces. I think they will go well in my room at Clearlake Lodge. I might put the big one in the Great Hall though.
