Relationship Note on Margot

It was an awkward embrace, but I felt it; there was a sisterly compassion shared, there. It's a nightmare, what's happened to our families, how that's come to shape the entireity of our persons, both of us. Despite so much darkness in Arvum, in Arx, our home, I have never felt so unified and strong with my beloved people.

Relationship Note on Margot

The woman's family killed mine.

My uncles, my aunts, my cousins...

But hers are dead, too.

We have lost the same thing.

Relationship Note on Margot

(Footnote attached to a diary entry)

Ugh, Margot. How Donrai not only decided to let her live, but make her a diplomat is way beyond my ken. She's going to put a dagger in someone's back one of these days, and I just can't stand her. She thinks she's so clever with words. Ugh. Besides, what's wrong with pants? They're so much less of a hassle than skirts, they don't tear nearly as easily, you don't have to worry if they get a little dirty, they don't ride up when you spin upside-down, and they're just way more useful to wear in a fight. Plus, it's not like I don't have any dresses. I have so many dresses. Note: Buy more dresses.

Relationship Note on Margot

Lady Margot Tyde is someone who I think I have barely crossed paths with, though who has purchased a few things from the shop as well as via commission. She is ever patient on the rare occasion I get behind, which is greatly appreciated. While I recently wrote of a lack of inspiration, a commission of hers actually did inspire me to make a set of hairpins, which she seemed pleased with. It is those moments in which I most love crafting, I think. And despite not really knowing the Lady Tyde, I believe I already like and respect her.

Relationship Note on Margot

I've only had the pleasure of recently making her acquaintance at the behest of common acquaintances, and I am glad for it. She embodies all that one would expect of a lady of Thrax; ambitious with an innate grace and demure air about her, yet there is a fire that one would be foolish to ignore lest they be singed. I've heard her tale, and I cannot help but feel deeply for her - all while being grateful that hers is a tragedy I was spared from. But she doesn't need sympathy, she is survival personified. I look forward to seeing what comes of this new relation, and the dinner between our Great Houses we're to arrange.

Relationship Note on Margot

Lady Margot is polite and well-spoken, with quite a strong mind. Our conversation was a good reminder that a decision shouldn't be made without putting some thought behind all the options available. I look forward to meeting her again sometime.

Relationship Note on Margot

The last of the Tyde family. Their demise was long before I came to live with House Thrax in the kitchens. She dresses demurely, and keeps her voice soft - good lessons when you live in the shark's domain.

Relationship Note on Margot

It's been hard to put the nature our relationship into words; probably it should be when your families have killed each other, and you are raised together. I was encouraged always to keep her in 'her place' and to never turn my back on her, so we're not sisterly, and we're not friends. But these days, we share some of the same goals; at least outwardly. We can work together effectively. And that may well be as good as it gets, until there are larger changes-- I can live with detente for now.

Relationship Note on Margot

The reputation of Thrax is fearsome but look beyond the tales of deeds done by their menfolk, and one hears of the elegance, poise, and understated charm of their ladies. Lady Margot of Tyde exemplifies these ideals. She bears a unique position and heavy responsibilities with all of the grace one could hope for.

Relationship Note on Margot

Today held an unexpected delight for me as I made the acquaintence of Lady Margot Tyde. In her kindness and gracious heart I was so reminded of her cousin, my dear Queen Genevieve. Our path is early yet, but perhaps together we shall heal the wounds of heartache at her loss.

Relationship Note on Margot

We've quarreled, and I'll admit I can hardly recall what it was about now, except I know that I am still irritable. I've been advised to make up with her by a mutual friend, and while I know they're both right, I'm still not willing to say so. I think I'll go sharpen my blade instead, and think on this matter again later on.

Relationship Note on Margot

I realize that Lady Margot perhaps is just entertaining my boldness, but she carries herself in a particular demeanor which draws people to her. The fact that she's acquiesced to grant me audience at some point speaks wonders to both her temperment and grace. It's been awhile since I've been at sea, but there's a memory there which she invokes. In every situation I've found myself in, and there's been several, her name has never come up without the highest standing and praise. It certainly makes one get to know her a little better.

Relationship Note on Margot

It is a difficult thing to tell how much you might miss someone once you are no longer simply in the next room over from them. Perhaps I took Margot for granted, perhaps I did not think at all of what would become of us as I quickly wished to grow up and see a bit more of the world so kept sheltered from me. Seeing her upon my return to the city made many memories come rushing back, those that I had wished would stay away and those I had not realized I had forgotten in the first place. She was never a ward of the Thrax household to me, but more like a trusted sister. Sometimes I think she thinks I am much more delicate than I am, and sometimes I think she is very right as she has always been the strong one between us.

Relationship Note on Margot

I had the incredible pleasure of sewing my first silk dress for this marvelous lady. She is modest, yet elegant. Yet, I sense a strength in her. She is like a rolemodel of what Thraxian women should become. I look forward to doing more business with her.

Relationship Note on Margot

I don't know Lady Margot well. Her story can be tragic or inspiring, depending on how you look at it. I give her credit, for she was more honest about her feelings during her meeting than I thought she would. Then again, said honesty is not always pragmatic. Still, at this point, she is interesting enough that I'm curious to learn more about her.

Relationship Note on Margot

I feel sorry for Margot. It must be terrible to be poor and a thrall. At least she is friendly and helpful, which is, I think the best way for poor people to behave. When I remember her family murdered my parents, I start to get angry, so I do my best not to think about it.

Relationship Note on Margot

Margot is a true and dear friend to me. Yes, I know her parents are responsible for the death of mine, and they were punished for that. I do not blame her for it, and actually see her as an asset for House Thrax much like my sister Donella is. I am uncertain about what the future may bring, but when I am Prince of Maelstrom, I will try to make sure to keep her close to the family.

Relationship Note on Margot

The Last Lady Tyde; Margot is such a sweet and honorable young noblewoman and yet it is as if she's lived a thousand lives. While our stories rest in scandal and war, I at least still have my brother, my last flesh and blood. Lady Margot was taken in as a ward by Prince Donrai and House Thrax. A part of me wants to believe there is something more hidden beneath the veil of propriety and absolute perfect presence. She is the last of her name after all. Isn't she just a little bit mad?

I butchered her father and cut my bloody way through Tyde. You would think that would make her plot against me, against us. Perhaps she is. Heh. Until she shows her hand she's useful, though.

Relationship Note on Margot

The lovely Lady Tyde, who has such a tragic history. Isolde has encountered her, and just pities the poor wilting flower. Hopefully the woman can do good things in the Assembly. She may be an interesting conversationalist from time to time.
