On the note of the dinner, I must say that my cousin is the most /awesome/ singer to ever grace Arvum. No, I don't care if anyone else claims to have that title, they're just wrong. Lady Lucita's voice and song writing are second to none, and her songs have spread far and wide throughout Arvum. And, I'm happy to have had her grace our dinner last evening and at the request of so many, sing a song near the end. The looks of peace and happiness on the faces of my guests as she played and sang are something I will always treasure.

While many people find comfort in consistency, I find it to be my greatest enemy. I'd give anything for my life to stop being the same every day. Wherever I go, whatever I do, something goes wrong. And not in that teenager tantrum way, either. I mean, literally. I thought maybe by moving to Arx that things would change.
A nice morning catching up with an old friend, Baroness Lucita Igniseri. Everything was going well. There's no way it could go wrong, I thought. Until Lord Karadoc let me know that my reputation as a luckless knight preceded me here and then reminded me of my own past follies and horrible luck in front of the others.
Oh, but that isn't even the best part! I get upset and try to leave and somehow up-ended the table of drinks almost in Archlector Vayne's lap! Thankfully, Baroness Skye is as quick as she is!
And let's not forget the priceless vase I bumped into and destroyed in the Domus my first night here!
Or meeting the nice King's Own Dame Erela and falling on my face in the dirt after an hour of great conversation!

It was very lovely to visit with Lucita yesterday. I surprised her in Saik Tower to see how she was doing. I've missed her presence around Domus Igniseri, more than I ever thought. I shall deign to go see her more and more. I've even truck a bargain with her to help her with House Saik, when the time comes. I wish to see her to flourish and prosper, and her new family too. She'll find her feet, in her new role, I'm sure of it.

There's something about having the stark realization that someone whom you've counted on for such a long time is no longer a part of your direct family. It's not quite like losing someone to death, but sometimes the feeling can be the same. It's only been a single evening, and already your presence is missed within our household. And, though rationally I know you'll be back, helping to aid with Igniseri affairs as our Voice, irrationally - it's just not the same.
So, do please come visit often, Lucita, for your presence is already sorely missed; but, perhaps, not so often that your new husband questions whether you are a Saik or an Igniseri.
