Relationship Note on Gareth
The Prince Inquisitor of Grayson seems a haunted man; he's haunted by the things that could be, the things that should have been, the state of affairs in the city, the things he might need know, and those he never should. I can only imagine how heavily duty weighs on someone in his position. How could it not? So many questions and no one with any exact place to point to begin. Many suspicions, many nods to old enemies, and many suggestions to possible new ones.

Hammar scared of Gareth, his face scary and he threatened Hammar! Hammar does not like Gareth, he wanted Hammar to kill monsters for Grayson family, but Hammar said no! HAMMAR WHACK! Gareth. Hammar tries to avoid Gareth, but Hammar always sees Gareth everywhere.

This fellow seems powerful, and potentially dangerous, if you end up on the wrong side of him of course. Fortunately I know how to stay on the right side of those like him, for the most part at least. He's compensated me well to be on retainer to him, that is to always fight for him when he needs it, and he's promised good compensation for my services in the future as well. Hey, money is tight, and it was a great offer.

Prince Inquisitor Gareth Grayson is a man who stands true to his beliefs. No one in their right mind would seek to cross him. Perhaps fewer still to think of wooing his friendship. He has deep pockets and a keen mind, both of which I'd naturally prefer out of the Boroughs.

Scarface. Bellhound. Shroudsinger and, he reminds me of a little boy I met, years ago, years and years and years ago. I met him in prison, you know. The little boy, not Gareth. Or was it Gareth? Was it prison? Oh right, the little boy: He sold his horse for some magic beans, instead of silver, and his whole family starved to death the winter thereafter. Lovely story, innit?

Prince Inquisitor Gareth Grayson is a man that is dedicated to his career in a way most normally aren't. Talen's respect for this has been noted as he himself feels much the same, the duties of being a Sword and serving the Velenosa family as all-encompassing as they are. It is Talen's belief that if there is ever to be any foul matters in Arx, the Inquisition will be the ones to find them.

Relationship Note on Gareth
It's almost as if Fate has Prince Gareth sitting at almost every single pew or couch that I'm near, as if it was intended to be so. From the time he valiantly came to my aid in regard to the very-very sober and fearful conundrum ongoing at the Shrine of Mangata (do ask me later) to the Gala of Ascension where he was always an arms length away (except for the times he wasn't), we are becoming swift friends that should never part. While he did not seem to enjoy the shine to the very-lovely-scented wound ointment that I tried to dab upon his face in the Salon, he sees through to the very core of me and inspires my obsessions to new heights! It's wonderful! My very-very fantastic plan is that he will assist me at some point with a menagerie of my own, and I, in turn, will keep his dancing feet from every tripping over a brazier again. Oh. I know he's cold and he likes to glare and he tortures people day in and day out without blinking one of those eyes that make other people shrivel. But to me, he's wonderful and I will hear nothing less.

What can I say about Prince Gareth Grayson? An Inquisitor whose family is always foremost in his thoughts. A man whose obvious scars may be matched by ones within. I doubt I'll ever know. When he looks at you, it feels like a man trying to identify a tool. The Inquisition's work must be as terrible as rumors say to strip the habit of humanity. He is difficult to read, so perhaps I romanticize it disproportionately.

My newest student. I'm glad he and I are in agreement of what can be expected. The man is, or appears to be, remarkably straight forward. Quick to remind me of what the Inquisition will be happy to pay for, and I'm quick to listen. It does well to cultivate a friendly relationship with such an individual if you're forced to cultivate one at all.
My father would whole heartedly disapprove, given his adherence to the good ol' family motto.

Relationship Note on Gareth
I am uncertain what to make of Prince Gareth right now. Our conversation was, I think, productive. We both shared concerns for the state of the city and I think that is a good place to work from. At the very least, he is the first Grayson I've really had the chance to speak with and open up the doors of diplomacy to. That alone made the meeting valuable.

Saw him aimlessly wandering around the Training Center one day. Apparently, he wants to learn how to use the sword. I can't fault his tenacity, but he'll be lucky to do more than hold the weapon aloft.

I'm a little surprised by this man. I expected something of a... contentious relationship, if I'm going to be polite, yet, he humored my tendancy to be the center of the universe, and our conversation was quite enjoyable. He's so terribly, almost painfully Grayson, but he actually seems to care about the truth of things, rather than blind bias. He's actually rather charming, if one can see to the soul of him. He is a hard man, do not mistake my interest for thinking his is kind underneath the hardness, but his charm is not one of sweetness and light. No, it is more... something I understand, I think.

A man who has suffered a great deal and makes a great show of well justified bitterness. He strikes me as far more honest to himself than most though, with a genuine love of his house and wish to do them proud.

When I first met Prince Gareth I'll admit I was rather taken aback. I am awfully fond of the pretty things in life and it's definitely the case that he's not one of them. But now I'm more curious than anything else, I find the life of an inquisitor morbidly facinating, and the story behind his injuries must be equally so.

Inquisitor Gareth is a very intense man, I worry that he cares more for his family then the realm and the silent watcher. As long as they remain aligned I'm sure working with him will be a pleasure.
