Relationship Note on Calypso
I had the opportunity to watch the Lady General play the game of chess today. Very interesting in strategy and representing the archetypes of society. All the pawns of course, doggedly marching ahead. Castles advancing and reinforcing the line, knights moving round in eccentric yet predictable flourishes.
I found it particularly interesting that the most powerful piece on the board is not the King, but the Queen. What does he think, I wonder, while she is out in the field cutting down foes and earning acclaim? After busying himself with the difficult decision of a black or white square for the night's drinking, does he ruminate in petty jealousy? Does he fester and blubber, complaining to the pieces he has surrounded himself with?
Does he, rising from impotence, become the Fool? Who, unfamiliar with the straight line of valor, advances on the honorable with crooked steps?

Relationship Note on Calypso
Often I find myself thinking I have few friends. This never bothers me, for friends are a rare commodity that should be valued once one is found. Calypso is such a person, and one that I'm proud to call my friend. She has accomplished much, done much, and given a lot of herself to help keep the people of Arx, and the Compact safe.

Relationship Note on Calypso
While so many have been prideful, mercurial, and consumed by their own petty affairs I have watched her tirelessly work to keep this city and its people safe. She has never been overcome by demons of jealousy and conceit. Never complained of not receiving the respect she is due. Has never been distracted by paranoia, fear, and narrow perspective.

Lady Geneal Calypso Malvici is the sister of the curent Duke of Southport and the Minister of Defense for the Compact. She's a competent woman, which I can tell despite only having met her a few times. I need to talk to her about a potential role for me within the Ministry.

Relationship Note on Calypso
Military over politics. I can certainly get behind that idea; I could never trade the sea for a landlocked office, trade my wax-protected scrolls for dusty books, trade my freedom for a position. In that regard I can only fully agree with Lady Calypso's choices until now, and I fully intend to back the military leadership of our troops with the might of the navy should the time come that such efforts are warranted. I'll stick to whiskey when we meet though, that's just a given.

I attended a meeting last night in Lady General Calypso Malvici's war room. It was a new, enlightening experience that was far more interesting than I expected and surprisingly educational. She was a lovely host, complimented one of my ideas, and even let me take a souvenir. What more can a humble commoner such as myself ask for?

Relationship Note on Calypso
My dear cousin, she never ceases to impress me with how much she's grown and how much her swordplay has improved since our years training with each other.
She is a phenomenal fighter and was a great help to me as I practiced my swordplay, specifically in not just trusting the darksteel (to which she also provided me as a gift..alas, I cannot thank her enough) alone to defend me, thus did I practice in great extent these past few days on parries and flourishes. I managed to barely defeat her unharmed, as I was able to surprise myself with the ability to keep up wit her movements and match her strike for strike, block for block.
I will never be grateful enough for how much she has helped me.

I met the Lady General at the Council, and it seems like she is a very intelligent woman, who knows tactics and strategies when it comes to war. I believe she will see us through a lot of what is coming in this siege.

When I first met Calypso, it was in the Southport training center. She'd offered a spar, and I decided to take her on. I didn't realize she was a general. It was a tough fight, and I'm still convinced my victory was dumb luck. Which is why I'm probably the only victor that ever wanted a rematch when they've trained all the harder.
Today, I had asked to meet with her, and it was far more productive than I had expected. She asked me for details on the attack in the Lower Boroughs, and I obliged her. She asked me the questions, and appreciated my intel. I felt rather important for a few moments.
Eventually the real reason that I wanted to speak with her came up, and I asked how I could better serve the defense of the compact. After a lengthy conversation, I became an agent in the Ministry of Defense. I'm looking forward to serving with her.

Under her direction I lead our ships. Under her directions I fight. Lady General.
I'm amazed at how she's grown. She's so fierce and tough. I chased after her as a child and I feel little has changed. There's so much to admire in Calypso.
I have every faith that she will see us through many battles in the days to come and as long as she is my general, we'll see it through just fine.

Relationship Note on Calypso
I returned recently with my daughter Serah to the Hall of Malcivi to answer the call made by my house. I am happy that on my return, I immediately reunited with my dear cousin Calypso. She seems ever so happy with her military role, to which I am happy that her path has not led her astray. I hear she is marrying soon. I could not be more happy for my dear cousin. She welcomed me home with open arms, and even offered to provide me with new equipment for the coming battles. I could not be more grateful.
We plan to spar soon. I can only hope I have not been greatly surpassed by her combative abilities.
On a side note: I am happy that Calypso has been able to interact with Serah. Serah seemed overjoyed to be reunited with her cousin, it does a father like me proud.

Relationship Note on Calypso
I met the Lady General in an impromptu bit of fight night. Armored up in Juliet's armor. (Note: Get Rubicund) And I had a spar. I think she took it a little easier than she would have, but I managed to surprise her with my skill and managed to knock her to the ground. She fights well, and I'll just be thankful I managed to stay on my feet. I'll have to spar with her again. It was a good time.
