Lord Pasquale's relaxing fishing trip amid a lovely amicable gathering of people was just what was needed to get away from stressful paperwork. It was a surprise to discover such an ugly fish as the one I caught that had two eyes on one side, white on the other side, mottled coloring that looked just like a rock, tasted so good. It just proves that old saying... appearances can be deceiving.

The earliest blooms of spring have been stripped from our gardens. Grubby little hands have mangled the flowers. Proud children presented their bedraggled blooms to the Ladies of the household. That included female cats and dogs that looked puzzled at being presented those instead of tidbits of meat or a bone. Poor Golden (a dog) was taken by sneezing fits after given a clump of flowers. Gardeners assure me more flowers are budding and will soon replenish the flower beds.

My old music tutor used to tell me in winter, always play in a warm tavern or music room because cold fingers become clumsy and can not feel what instrument string they are plucking. She was so very right.

Off on an explorer trek again, running supplies to a group exploring some ruins. I miss my bed at home on these expeditions. Seems my bedroll always has a root or rock or something annoyingly uncomfortable under it. At least it was not camping in the mud or on some narrow ledge or on bitter cold ice.

Frying pans, rolling pins, field harvest scythes, stock stall mucking rakes, children's sling shots, thrown rocks, wine bottle bludgeons, so much potential helps give people confidence that they are not helpless, they need not cower in the corner while the enemy to all of the compact threatens. They have games and fun contests to hone those skills. The ability to keep home and each other safe helps free up trained warriors and recruit more for the necessary answering of the Compact banners.

So cold, so much snow one could not see an arms length ahead. That heavy snow put a quick end to my attempt to visit the shrines. I barely made it to the Black Fox and sat there with friends hoping it would let up enough to get back home. If not, I've claimed a spot on the comfortable couches to nap if necessary.

Long hours in the archives searching for bits of information was followed by a long trek home in the snow and ice. Stopping by the Ambassador Salon for a warm drink and to bask in the fireplace warmth for a little while was irresistible. It was a pleasant surprise to have a friend stop by and visit for a while.

It has been a long time since I got a new dress. It was a pleasure to pick out a style and shoes to go with it but could not make up my mind about color! I finally just asked the tailor to look at me and pick out a color would be good on me. I can't wait to see what combination they pick for me.

Shopping. Some days I dread it. Some days it is enjoyable. This is not one of those, especially when I can not recall where I once saw that dagger. Maybe someone already bought it.
