Relationship Note on Fianna

How good it was to learn more about how to joust in the saddle with Duchess Fianna. I hardly think there is a soul in Arvum that knows more about horses than she, and I can already feel my technique begin to improve with Rosie.

It doesn't hurt that she enjoys the Stormwall Estate's arena far better than the training area we have set up at the Crown stables. A change of scenery, I suppose.

Relationship Note on Esoka

When I was new to Arx, a lord that soldiered in the Telmarch and that thought all too much of my abilities, I was humbled routinely in the Training Center.

Dame Esoka took me under her wing and taught me swordsmanship and other skills I carry with me today.

She was so devout to Gloria they there were times I wished she would formally give herself to the gods as Templar. But she goes for greater protection now, and I pray the goddess of Honor see over her in this new Quest.

I am recently returned from a great journey into the Oathlands and across Arx to gather stories and testimonies about our great and departed Lord Commander, Sir Dayne Valardin. I thank Princess Ophelia, Sir Austen, Dame Imi, and Lady Teagan for their help on these efforts.

There is too much learned to record it all here and now. Perhaps there will be a book in time. But for now, we will tell the stories by fires and over ales. And in time, we will tell the stories at the Hall of Heroes, when we will welcome our Brother, Sir Dayne, into the pantheon of the greatest heroes the Compact has known.

I will say this from our findings, that I agree with this from the Archscholar Aldwin, written on the Lord Commander's passing:

"Many say we just lost the greatest knight of our generation, and in that, I feel there is no argument. But that does not state all of it, in truth. I fear we have lost the greatest man of our generation."

The Hundred grows stronger with every knight we welcome to our ranks.

Welcome, Dame Gwendolen, as our newest sister in arms. May you do honor to King and Compact.

The Hundred grow stronger with every new recruit. We look forward to Dame Gwendolen joining our ranks, continuing an unbroken chain from the time of the Reckoning.

While we stand.

Relationship Note on Eleanor

The King placed such trust in the Lord Commander, not only in the safety of himself and his family, but in naming her Voice of the Crown.

That trust was well placed for Dame Eleanor handled the recent Assembly of Peers with ease and efficiency.

Relationship Note on Hana

These last weeks I have truly grown to appreciate the alaricite blade that Weaponsmith Hana forged for me. I asked for no embellishment. Just the gleaming silver color that befits my office.

It is a superb weapon and I could not be happier with it.

Relationship Note on Eleanor

It is good to see the trust that the King has placed in the Lord Commander, having her not just head his guard but also serve as Voice of the Realm.

She shall do wonderfully at the head of the Assembly of Peers in the coming days.

How glad I am to hear that my beloved cousin has returned from the Greenwood and is with us in Arx once more. It has been too long since we have had a chance to talk.

We can change that, soon.

Relationship Note on Eleanor

Though we work together closely, it is rare that the Lord Commander and I find time to truly sit and catch up.

We rectified that this week and I am glad we did. Time spent in Dame Eleanor's company is always well spent.

Relationship Note on Arn

How the Telmarch got its name is not widely known, I do not think.

It was the Recknoning and the First Knight, Valar's first general, rode to the North. There, at the Castle of the Northern March, he was approached by an old priest who came forward to speak for thousands of refugees from the northern regions.

"They say we have been abandoned," the priest said. That the path to Arx was closed, that the enemy was closing in, and that all would be left to die, and that none were coming to save them.

Valar's general looked around the great red wall on which he stood and took stock of things. He had made an oath. To defend the innocent. He had his company of knights with him. He knew that he would not survive the coming battle, but the refugees might. And he spoke.

"No. You are not abandoned. No one in the Northern Marches have been abandoned while we are here. Tell all the villages of the Northern Marches to gather here. Tell them that this march will hold. Tell them that we will gather here, and we will fight, and that no one is abandoned, and should make for the safety of this castle. Tell the march to fear no enemy. Tell the march."

Those words became my family name and its motto. Telmar: Fear no enemy.

Duke Arn lived those words until the end.

May Death welcome him, even if he will never laugh for Her jokes.

I am gladdened to see Marcel Beaucage brought to justice and to have played some small role in helping Legate Aureth do so. His crimes against our fellow humans deserve the full weight of the Sentinel's justice.

I am overwhelmed by the generosity shown at the auction to commemorate Lord Commander Dayne Valardin. Over 3.5 million silver bid to see him added to the Hall of Heroes.

I am proud to say that the funds received are more than sufficient for the task and the excess will see that the Lord Commander and his memory are adequately honored and live on to the future.

Thank you, Archduchess Regent Jaenelle for organizing this and Auctioneer Wren for running it so well. And to all the bidders for their charity. It is Gild's blessings.

Relationship Note on Felix

The Brothers and Sisters of the Pantheon honor the gods not only through their words, as with the Scholars of the Vellichor, or their arms, as with the Knights of Solace and Templars.

They also venerate the gods through their hands and their works. Brother Felix, you do honor to Jayus with your vows.

Relationship Note on Jaenelle

How glad I am that the Grand Duchess has taken an interest in our work to honor the Lord Commander Dayne. The Lord Sistermander (Emeritus) may have been a jocular title that the King bestowed upon her, but the Grand Duchess is a fast ally of the King's Own and we are fortunate to have her (however informal) patronage.

There is a great work left undone. And it should rightly fall to us, his brothers and sisters, to complete it.

Lord Commander, we will see you installed where you were rightfully elected.

And as Arx endures, we will remember.
