A reflection on decision making:
If the answer to any given decision needing to be made were a simple yes or no, making them would be much easier. As it stands, when faced with a difficult decision, especially a decision that you must make that will impact in ripples around you, one must consider all options. Know that between black and white there is gray. Judge based on your past experience, your current understanding, and listening to the input of others just where your decision sits between the balance of black and white. And when listening and gathering is over, and a call is made, do it knowing you weighed your options and chose the best one.
Nothing about choice is easy. But I would rather have choice than be bound to have my decisions made for me. Difficult as they may be, making them keeps us stepping forward.

Relationship Note on Anze
An heir of Southport should be born in Southport. I’ve tried to hide my current state for long enough. The journey back home will be made all the more difficult by my inability to move swiftly and lack of self control to not eat half the ships food supplies. I apologize in advance to Duke Anze for any emotional outbursts along the journey. His patience is endless.

Getting shot with a bolt in the shoulder really hurts. I don't recommend it.
Luckily the would be assassin has been apprehended. I am fortunate to keep such strong and fast acting company. Another reminder of why I am so proud to have the family and extended family that I do.

I have a difficult choice to make this week. A decision will be made before I go home to Southport. A grave mistake was made the moment a single silver was taken from Southports coffers. These actions are not being taken lightly and will be dealt with accordingly. When I heard about the Carlotta, I was impressed with the innovative stance House Velenosa's leadership was taking in seeing it created. I am further impressed by their willingness to share and help see the Compact grow. Selflessness is noted, appreciated and I think sets a good example.
I can't wait to see many more Caravel Ships added to the fleets of the Compact.

I don't think I say this enough. I am incredibly proud of my family. Every single person involved in House Malvici and its extended Vassals is hard working and determined. Family dinners always remind be just how lucky I am to have a family as strong as this one.

Call me foolish for promoting a one armed, battle-worn Sargent to the post of Drill Sargent of the Malvici Military in Arx if you want. But he has something not many do. I learned today that there is an entire wall of skulls in the Shrine of Death to honor lost lives. This is a sentiment I can get behind. Not only does it face us with mortality and remind us of how precious life is, but it also gives us a chance to revisit those who were lost and remember what they died for.
More importantly... Why didn't anyone tell me we had a whole wall of skulls?!

I finally got to visit Farhaven. I wish it had been under better circumstances, but I appreciate the visit none the less. Seeing the ancestral home of my extended family, understanding better where my husband comes from. I can’t wait to see it dusted in snow the way he describes it.
I think my favorite room to visit was the study. All of the faces of Redrains past starring down from on high. It made him incredibly uncomfortable, remembering being dragged in there for scoldings. It made me laugh and realize how lucky I am he took after his more attractive ancestors. Poor Uncle Erik.
