I bought a very nice solid metal mug from Mistress Raja Culler's shop because I liked it, but the more I've used it, the more I've come to realize it really would come in handy in a pinch as a weapon. I personally have never experienced a bar or street brawl but one never knows.

I've spent the past few days largely shut in my room, annotating a number of books. It's been utterly fascinating.
But gods, I miss the days when Mama or Papa would bust in and give me an earful about neglecting my diplomacy lectures. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self to treasure it while it lasted.

I have decided I will eat goose every day. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Perhaps even goose mousse for dessert. All geese shall fall before me, trussed up in string, roasted, stuffed, candied, gravied. First I must learn to hunt them, but I have found purpose and reason to do so.

No matter what Ainsley says he was not fine. I come upon my brother grinning like a fool, drinking tea at Whitehawk Manor like he is king of the world... And bleeding to death in front of his hosts. If he were not dying I would kill him myself! What on earth does he think he's doing?
As for the people with him. If thoughts could kill I would likely have accidentally flambeed the lot. Save, of course, for Aiden. Aiden is the one who brought me there and saved Ainsley's life. He's the only one among them with a lick of sense, and I swear that...

I went to visit Shadow to tend his medical needs last night. He's such a dear, odd fellow. Not a native speaker of the language, and very troubled. I'm a bit concerned but I patched him up the best I could. it's all I can honestly do.
