Relationship Note on Wash
Lord Wash agreed to help me work on my defensive maneuvering today. The result was that I ended up sparring him in my underwear at the training center; which, to give him his due, is an excellent incentive not to get hit. I ended up winning in the end, as well as picking up more than a few useful tips along the way. Underwear training: Highly recommended!

Let me really clear:
Lord Washburn Kennex is just making himself look good. He's no hero. He's no jaunty sailor. (And I know my jaunty sailors.)
He thought he knew more than all of the leaders of the Fleet. They told him not to go after the shark. And when he dropped his anchor down its gullet, he triggered a blast of darkwater that provided the cover and confusion that allowed the enemy ships to escape and spit acid at us rather than let us do away with them. And the shark tooth that shot out killed Estaban Saik, the real hero admiral of Southport.
We're lucky it wasn't worse because of Lord Wash. But it certainly wasn't better because of him.

I hardly write here but....I feel i need to.
You are the man that chased me down in a sense. You were stubborn from day one. You risked yourself to see me again after we first met. You were relentless. We were a whirlwind of an affair...the talk of the capital. I can happily say I am honored that you chose me to be your wife. And not only that....but to be the mother of your children.
You are the best thing that happened to me, Washburn and I don't know what I would do without you in my life. You keep me sane in this crazy world.

As many times as have met, still not sure what to make of Lord Admiral Washburn Kennex when he seems to have forgotten my name, again, and it makes me a bit wary of him when that happens. Devoted to his wife and child.

Relationship Note on Wash
Wash loves that woman of his with a true and noble heart; you can tell because he's a madman when he's with her, and he's REALLY a madman when he's without her.
He talked once, while he was really in his cups, about wanting to impress her with some act of gallantry, something like the sort of thing the Brothers Kennex are famous for. Well, he was practically one of us at that point, so I thought... why shouldn't he? I decided to hatch a plan for him, something that would really turn Lady Catalana's pretty head. It seemed like a really good idea at the time; usually, I'm a better judge of these things when I'm drunk.
It was a good plan. Simple. Iconic. There's this tribe of shavs -- technically, they've bent the knee, but they live on both sides of the line, as it were, smugglers, mostly. One of them owed me a favor, and happened to be in the neighborhood. The way it was supposed to go, this shav, Ryvan, was supposed to harrass Lady Catalana in the marketplace, and then it would be Wash to the rescue. He'd demand satisfaction for the bothering of his woman, they'd have a show fight, he'd get some superficial wound for her to fuss over before winning heroically.
Ryvan played his part beautifully -- right up until the "helpless" Lady Catalana clocked him in the jaw, kneed him in the balls, and then kicked him as he was going down. In charges Wash, just then, totally unaware of what just happened, yelling something trite like 'unhand that woman', and Ryvan, who's on the ground by this point, says: "By all your gods, Wash! You didn't tell me she had such a good right hook."
He was sleeping on the proverbial couch for a while after that, and Aethan stuck me with looking after him until she forgave him.

I recall a few days ago maybe there were some journals circulating about. Fine individuals of the Compact speaking of their heroism.
