Relationship Note on Titus
Lord Titus Vaevici has been a true friend to Eswynd, bringing his ship and crew to our aid in times of conflict. He's taken injuries on our behalf that, honestly, even I am impressed he survived - and I am the one that tended many of those wounds! I did not know, some two years ago now, that when I befriended Baroness Calla that I would find myself grateful to her cousin for his invitation to explore the jungle around the Calderra, that I'd have a rare flowering vine from those travels growing in my conservatory, or that the relationship would come to bear fruit for an alliance between our houses - mine not even being mine, at that time!
Though he was not victorious in the Rite of Gloria against my husband, he maintained dignity, fervor, and honor. His dedication is unquestionable. It is a privilege to have one such as him on your side. Someday, I hope to be able to express my gratitude in a more tangible way. What does one gift an ally?

What sort of boost? I can promise Lord Titus that us in the north are just as loyal and courageous as you or anyone else. Same with our preparations.

To my Lord Titus of House Vaevici,
I concur that the choice made by the former Duke of House Bisland was both noble and exemplary, but I am uncertain as to why you hope it might serve to be inspire the people of the Northlands.
Are you suggesting that the Northlanders are lack in courage or loyalty? Are you suggesting that they are neither training nor preparing for war right now? From personal experience I know well that Northlanders are as courageous and loyal as any, and that they are always training and preparing for war.
The misery of today lies at the door of those who seek too eagerly the challenges of war for naught but personal gain, knowing that they can throw to it men, women, and children who would otherwise contest their motives.
The winter is cold up north.
I wish you fortune in your pursuit of war.

Relationship Note on Titus
At last! I managed to drag another Vaevici to Arx. My cousin has arrived to help us with the war efforts, although I probably should have warned him about the weather in the Fall and Winter here. I remember my first experience with how cold it can get in Arx, it was only last year.
But Titus will do well here I think. He's a rare Vaevici, like me, who is more open-minded about this Compact and our new place in it. I can't wait to see how he settles in here.
