Relationship Note on Mabelle
My feet carried me today into the Dire Bee, and there I found Lady Mabelle, knee-deep in preparations for the Artshall Arts Festival. We spent an enchanting hour in conversation and I was privileged to enjoy a sneak preview of the gown that she's designed for the occasion. I won't elaborate on it here in the Whites, because it will speak for itself when it's showcased. In Lady Mabelle I've discovered a friend, and I look forward to where this friendship might lead us.

I have a dog! a wonderful dog that loves water and is large enough I can play with a bit rough.
Well, before I get carried away too far, I have to remember that I will to give Taffy back to her owner. Maybe I will just have to find reasons to speak to her owner now and then and go for walks.
Not that that would be the only reason for why I would want that but it is the most harmless of them.

Seeing Belle after so long apart was refreshing. She does not seem to bear any ill will and I begin to think I was foolish in my previous assessment. That I misjudged her and that she or perhaps, even more likely, I have have grown in our time apart. There is a newness which intrigues me.

You have always been exceptionally clever, dear cousin, and I suspect you are right! If, of course, that particular set of starlight silk had rainbow seems along with a mask to match. Truly, that fabric you helped create is a wonder that I think I favor above all others. As well, I always seem to so easily give myself away at these events. Either my guards insist on following, or I forget to put my mask on before walking in...really, it's something different every time. Next event, we'll have to conspire beforehand so that I know what amazing outfit you are wearing before it's over.

I recently met with the exceptionally beautiful and friendly, Lady Mabelle Laurent while visiting the Dire Bee, only to learn it is her shop. She was most helpful in directing to a talented designer, after enjoying a day of tea and treats at her shop. I genuinely enjoy her tea and company, and I hope that in the future we can work together for the betterment of the city.

I still don't know how I managed to go two years in the city without attending one of Lady Mabelle's events. It wasn't something I was avoiding! Circumstances just always seemed to prevent me from being able to go. I learned today that that was a shame, and the situation has finally been rectified. The Honey Festival at the Laurent estate was magnificent! The food and drink were delicious and filling, the company was of the highest quality, and the games. Well, I didn't embarrass myself too terribly. I even won a prize!
I've been lucky enough to convince the lady of the merit of some of my projects, and her expertise is a boon to me as I navigate these new challenges. And now I see that I need to make a greater effort to clear my schedule whenever she hosts a party! We all deserve to take a break and enjoy ourselves from time to time.

My cousin Mabelle has, once again, worked with a talented group to bring another exciting inspiration to the Compact: starlight silk. I have managed a few bolts of it already and can hardly wait to have an outfit made from the glorious stuff. The shimmer is truly like starlight, with the coolness of the tone so much like the metals I tend to favor. It had me at hello.
