Relationship Note on Joscelin

The secret of Oakhaven's Master Leatherworker was bound to get out eventually. I too have some of Apollo's work and each piece is a treasure. Sometimes I almost am afraid to wear it, worried that I might scuff it or spill tea.

Have you seen the cloaks? Our the fur hats??

I can not imagine the Crafter's Guild lead by anyone but you, though I certainly don't begrudge you the reasons you wish to step down for. I'm /glad/ that your life is so full of love and home, things you always seemed to truly want, that it is time for a change. We are all fortunate beyond words for your leadership and passion. Herding cats is no small feat! I kid, mostly. You took something that was floundering and made it one of the strongest organizations in Arx, I think. To have served as one of your assistants has been a great honor and learning experience. You will be sorely, sorely missed.

PS - I don't want the job, for anyone reading. I was honored with a nomination many years ago along with Joscelin, and thought myself unfit for it. I still feel that way. Politics have never been something I dabble in or even enjoy; I am a simple woman. The leader of the Crafter's Guild should be someone capable and able to embrace those things; I wouldn't. I am honored if anyone might think me fit, but I assure you it would be a bad fit. I will happily continue as an assistant, should a new Guildmaster bestow such trust. If not, I will still consider myself lucky.

I think I had a date. It is called a date when you enjoy a dinner out with someone whose company you greatly enjoy, yes?

Yes. It was a very nice date. I hope to do it again soon.

Sometimes a crafter's work inspires me to order an entire outfit designed just so that I have something that will show it off appropriately.

While of course I favor buying things after my own taste, nothing makes me happier than observing fine artistry based on what the crafter chose, herself, to create. In addition to making the purchase, I felt inspired to donate to the Faith in honor of Jayus in her name.

I see great potential in Joss! I take full credit for the ice down your shirt, though I admit he was very clever using ice instead of waiting for the snow. He will go so far, this one.

It's not always easy to find the 'perfect' gift, so sometimes you have to commission it from a skilled crafter. I have to say, I am very pleased at the design that Guildmaster Joscelin sent over. My sister's excitement at the precious stag brooch proved I was indeed correct in trusting her to craft this jewelry for me.

I have a confession to make, I spent a bit of silver on myself for my birthday and purchased a pair of gold earrings with emeralds and the absolutely gorgeous pale Seliki pearls from the Atelier. When I was a child I could only dream of owning something so wonderous. Now it's a reality and I thank The Guildmaster for making such a wonderful piece of jewelry. I will most definitely be back for another when I have an occasion to celebrate.

Guild Mistress, I thought I'd just point out that *cider isn't necessarily better for the boy. As you've seen from several of my samples, cider can pack more of a punch than an ale might... I do hope you clarified that it was of the non-alcoholic variety!

"Idaing" is only charging cost for items, or under cost, or just giving them away for free. Which I figure I make up with shop sales, but sometimes someone comes in asking for steel when, really, they should have rubicund in their hands to fight the ills of the world. It's not as scary as one might have hoped their name might be when turned into a verb, admittedly.

Maybe it could also mean getting punched for free? An upgraded punch, if you will. "Back off before you get Idaed." "Don't make me Ida you in the face."

Now /I'm/ curious how you use it. Those times I've thought I heard you calling me from your shop, I figured there must be a spider and much as I love you, I don't do spiders.

I've had quite a number of inquiries over recent days about Seliki pearls; the popularity they appreciate gratifies me greatly. If you are searching for a lovely bit of jewelry fashioned of our pearls, I would first direct you to Guildmaster Joscelin Arterius. In her capacity as Guildmaster, I would believe her to be more knowledgeable about the availability of Seliki pearls at market than I am at any given moment; in her capacity as craftsperson herself, I have not seen lovelier work.

House Seliki works with artisans on a case-per-case basis, after coming to mutually satisfactory terms that prize the well-being of our divers, county, and people above all. Diving is a dangerous calling, and we would see our people do it with rested, clear heads, that they return to the cliffs of Pearlspire another day.

Pearl spit.

Though I admit the Seliki's have some of the best pearl spit.

Greedy little bastards.

The pearl spit. Not the Seliki's.

They pair so well with Iridescite and they sit like a moon in star iron.

Relationship Note on Joscelin

Guildmaster Joscelin Arterius has my admiration, but somehow I had started to take her work for granted. When I saw how people reacted to her work with the Seleki jewelry, I realized once again how amazing she is. She is a credit to our house and to the people of Pearlspire. Her work with precious metals and clear gems is amazing. I am used to seeing people wear these, I did not realize how delightful many would find our pearls set with her skill.

Self, you are an idiot sometimes. I laugh. The festival reminded me that pearls have flavours too. My brother Kaldur already knew this and encouraged me to share them at the festival.

Future scholars: This was a festival called The Taste of Grayson. Arx has many Taste festivals. I do not know how many flavours pearls can have. work on your linguistic skills because we use flavour and taste in many ways, not just for food. But pearls do have a flavor. it's definitely very strong just after you shuck them. I have not thought to taste them after they've been set....

Present scholars: If you think future scholars of food and jewelry customs would like to know how jewelry tastes, I can make a study of this. We already do have a custom of silver on desserts.

Future scholars of language: I wish you to understand proxemics and the language of our bodies. When someone puts palm to forehead it can mean many things. This scholar I just asked did so. My Pearl's Own also does this at times. The other day I did this to myself. Study the people around you so that you can improve your lexicon.
