Relationship Note on Gareth

My brother has picked a path I would not have thought, but it serves him well. I find that while we are not as we once were, we are still dueling sides of the same coin.

Relationship Note on Gareth

It astonishes me how much my relationship with Prince Inquisitor Gareth has developed. He was one of my first friends in Arx and, despite the Saga of the Tea Set, I feel it continues to be a delight for both of us. I'll have to think of something as memorable as that gift for the next time.

Hmmmm. Maybe less insightful than I had hoped. It may be that it is -he- who is the cockroach. Time will tell, Prince or no.

Relationship Note on Gareth

I came across Prince Gareth carrying a basket of /kittens/, of all things, back to the Grayson estate. I ended up offering to help him, and carried the basket back part of the way. Unfortunately, at one point, a light-hearted joke was taken rather poorly, and he took the kittens stormed off. I suppose I've been away from the city too long; my sense of humor doesn't always align with everyone else's anymore.

(A shame that he got so angered, really, because I wouldn't have minded a kitten. They do make rather nice pets, and he seemed to have a surplus.)

Relationship Note on Gareth

Who doesn't love kittens? -Honestly-, no one has it in for the fluffy darlings more than the Prince Inquisitor.

...don't look at me like that. I'm completely serious. I wouldn't lie about something as important as this.

Did you write it down? Prince Gareth Grayson -adores- kittens. He will tickle kitten bellies all day.

He will even -smile-.

Just ask him. I left a whole basket of the fluffiest kittens I could find on his desk this morning. Some people like flowers as a way of apology, others weapons, still more like books.

If you want to appease Gareth, just give him a bouquet of live kittens.

Relationship Note on Gareth

I confess to being uncertain as to how to sum up my feelings regarding Prince Gareth. We are both survivors of shav atrocities, even if he wears his trauma on the outside as mine is hidden within. He is eloquent and witty and intelligent, all features I appreciate. I could even call him handsome despite the scar. But he carries his pain like he himself is a walking wound, and like any animal in pain, lashes out at others. Not to mention his vocation is appalling. And yet...I think he is lonely. If I continue to maintain a presence in his company, I may enjoy myself, but must remember at the end of everything, who and what he is.

Inquisitor Prince for House Grayson is an insightful man. I think I rather like him, even if he probably thinks I'm a cockroach.

Relationship Note on Gareth

I had royalty in my shop today. This isn't that unusual with Lady Dawn make her appearances as she does. But point of fact, it was her cousin that came by, the Lord-Prince Gareth of Grayson.

What we discussed was between us, but I must confess to being incredibly charmed by him. I've been told of his scars and his appearance, and .... I have to say, it makes him appear quite dashing.

I do accept, however, that my taste in aesthetics is strange and unusual and often weird, even in the things I create. I'm quite alright with this.

And ... I think he was flirting? Or perhaps just being friendly.

Also the man commands language like-

Relationship Note on Gareth

My cousin is a man of many talents, an asset to the Grayson name. He is tireless in his pursuit of the truth. I could wish that he found more joy in life but to wish that for him is to dictate choices to a man who has suffered physically, emotionally, and mentally, beyond what most could survive or tolerate. We should not judge him for the course he's carved for himself after that. We owe him a great deal.

Relationship Note on Gareth

I have met with the Prince Inquisitor a few times now and each time I am left with a mix of feelings. None the less, my hopes are high with this one as I believe that we may need each other more than we realize one day. Let us hope that we can each see beyond the thin veils that hide us...

Relationship Note on Gareth

Gareth is a very intense man. He has the hard job of being both a prince of the Grayson family and a prominent member of the Inquisition. One of our first meetings was not entirely cordial, but we worked through it. I told him that I and my vassals shall support the efforts of the inquisition.

Relationship Note on Gareth

I confess I do not entirely know what to make of the Prince Inquisitor. At times it feels like we could be friends, but I get the suspicion that he sees me as more of a tool than anything else. Even so, our relationship is mutually beneficial thus far, so I have little to complain about.

Maybe one day he'll even smile.

Relationship Note on Gareth

Sometimes this cousin of mine strikes me as a very easy puzzle which I solved long time ago. However, sometimes I am worried that I do not know the man at all. What if he is a very hard puzzle which I've yet to solve?

Relationship Note on Gareth

He is of the opinion it would take a Grayson months to learn what the Whispers expected from me over the course of years. While I have the utmost respect for that most noble family, and while I expect that the Inquisitor knows a great deal on a number of subjects, I cannot help but think that the training of courtesans is not one of those subjects.

My sympathy for his purpose remains, of course. Men who are drive by the spur of duty to take on the darkest tasks expected of those of their station are men to be admired.

Relationship Note on Gareth

A man with something to prove. It makes one wonder if his sword is as sharp as his tongue, or if that is the category found faulty. Either way, he has prying eyes and mannerisms to fit. A prince perfectly fit for the role of inquisitor.

Relationship Note on Gareth

I have to wonder, was Prince Gareth so confrontational prior to his horrible captivity? He makes the most basic attempts to be polite only to then shatter them through seemingly trying his best to seek confrontation. Why? It almost feels as if he looking to give people reasons not to help him.

Relationship Note on Gareth

What can I say about Prince Gareth Grayson? The man is either a genius, or an idiot and to be fair I'm not sure which it is. He thinks very high of himself, his position as Inquisitor, and House Grayson. Confidence in a man is a trait I certainly admire and respect, but what I can't condone is his complete and utter understanding of proper noble behavior. There is a distinct lack of dignity in how he treats his peers, and it's a shame, because it is really unnecessary. With a few adjustments, Prince Gareth could be a great man, unfortunately he might end remembered more for being a bitter one.

Relationship Note on Gareth

The Prince Inquisitor is the Grayson royal I've spoken to the most, which isn't terribly surprising considering both of our professions. The surprising part may be the fact that we can get along! I have promised to relay any pertinent information I may overhear from the streets regarding the King's alleged assassination attempt, though I suspect the true puppetmaster is someone higher up in the hierarchy; he may be better equipped to smoke him out than I.

He has agreed to pay me for intel (should I come across it) and has more or less ordered me to pay Mistress Eithne for a fine suit of steel armor - in order to test her skills - which I'm to wear instead due to his physical impairments. I'm not complaining, but it is an odd way to gift something.

Relationship Note on Gareth

There's only so much that Fergus is certain he can take of being around this Inquisitor who looks as if his mother tried to cook his face for a meal during lean times. Despite this, Gareth seems to be everywhere that Fergus is, and this puts him on edge, wondering as to whether the man is eyeing him for some inquisition. Fergus may have to keep a look out for the man to be certain nothing is going down.
