I met this Thraxian Princess exploring the Thrax ward. She seems a kind sort, and invited me to brunch the next day, whereupon she seemed intent on setting me up with somebody on a sort of blind date. It went... surprisingly well? I don't think I know her nearly as well as I should, but something tells me there will be ample opportunity.

My cousin has just returned, and made a bit of a spectacular showing of it so far, clearly a woman who likes being the center of attention. There's been drunking dancing (and knife throwing) and a fair amount of kicking me in the shin and bothering me about 'holding' the sword. Still, for all she teases and makes a big display of things, I'm happy to have more family around and I'm looking foward to her coming and visiting with Margot and I, and seeing the baby.

I met this one at the Thraxian wake for those lost in Brand's Battle. All I can really say about the event is that it was like our bonfires, except without the fire and more nautically inclined. She likes to raise a ruckus, knives embedded in thighs no exception to the games. In her defense, I really do think she was aiming for the apple on his head and not simply using that as an excuse to strike the man.

My sister,
During the cold nights in the Maelstrom as children we were dependent on each other. It was never easy with a father executed as a traitor and a mother who abandoned us. Forged in cold fire the rigors of the Salt life has shaped who we are. I do not regret those days because of hard circumstance hard people are made. Survivors.
But it has never cracked the foundation of what we are. Brother and sister. We have forged an unconditional bond that is a support structure for whatever comes.

Relationship Note on Fatima
Princess Fatima was lured to the Valardin stables by the promise of seeing baby foals, and for that I am glad. She's got something about her that simply draws you in; it's no wonder that the least friendly of the little ones warmed to her and only her. She came by to visit again, and we spoke for a time about the expectations of women and I was quickly impressed by her quiet determination to honor her family in deed and word. We've plans to hold a tea party together soon, and I look forward to getting to know her better in days to come.

I find it ironic that being a bastard carries more social bloody stigma than being the daughter of a Tehom fucked traitor. Still, I don't hold it against her. She's alright. Sometimes I wonder if she's going to try to run off and see the world like her mother did.

Relationship Note on Fatima
Fatima! She is an amazing woman, despite all that she has had to endure. She is charming, and beautiful, and /mysteriously foreign/, though she has never been anywhere foreign. I suppose it doesn't matter, as long as you can claim to be foreign and she can! She is certainly one of my most favorite cousins, and any moment spent with her is a learning experience and grand adventure. I feel we will get each other into a lot trouble the more we are around one another, but sometimes scandal can be fun! Not the major scandals...like stealing a ship and running off to get married to a foreigner major, but equally entertaining.
