Relationship Note on Clover

I will do my best, my lady. But better me than a person of import.

I would incorporate the name into a fancy title to have people call you.

Do you need me to make up a fancy title for you incorporating the new name you like? I like formal titles!

Relationship Note on Clover

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind. I don't think I was expecting... I have no idea what I was expecting, really. All I know is I no longer come home roaring drunk. Clover would probably object if I did anyway. And we don't both need to be falling over at every given opportunity. Just some of the more memorable ones.

One of these days that girl will trip and we will both fall in front of an oncoming wagon and be trampled to death.

Relationship Note on Clover

Lady Clover.

( Snippets of hurried sketches, trying to capture the subject before the memory fades. A head bowed, deeply golden hair undimmed. Green eyes the new color of spring - then, no - green eyes the color of older green trees. Distracted. Focused. Smudged hands, agile and graceful. )

( A page filled with nothing of delicate spiderwebs that have been traced over with illuminator's metallic gold ink. )

Relationship Note on Clover

( A detailed graphite drawing serves as an entry. Alleyway in the Lower Burroughs, early day as judging by how the artist has played with the light and shadow using nothing but shades of dull leaden gray. On one roughly stone-paved street, a scruffy cat sit in a closed doorway - staring haughtily at the viewer for possibly interrupting the morning routine. One striped tabby paw lifted. Prepared to dart away. )

Relationship Note on Clover

Clover insists on braiding my hair. It helps me with work, to be certain, and it's pleasant enough. Who am I to say no?

If it were not for this wonderful Lady, I would never have been able to provide the salty and sweet flavor of the bacon and chocolate that was suddenly in high demand.

An interesting young woman. Though I find myself wondering how she's survived for this long.

Relationship Note on Clover

What is there to say about Clover? Never have I had a full-grown woman fall on me thrice in a single conversation. twice is flirting and this... I something else. She's liable to be the death of me if truth be told. And yet...

And yet somehow I have found myself shopping with her. She offered to buy me a dress I did not want as a reward for helping her up I didn't need. What on earth is going on?

Relationship Note on Clover

Energetic, determined... and.. unfortunately not as good with a bow as she (or people nearby when she uses it) would like. But if effort and enthusiasm counted as skill, she would be the best archer in Arx I have no doubt. Hopefully some of our own can help her along the path to a better aim. Apparently also a good friend to Sir Roland (the Knight, not the Owl). He calls her Lady Pickle, and she calls him Sir Magnificent. I definitely encourage asking for the meanings behind these charming nicknames.

Relationship Note on Clover

Little Lady Clover Wyrmgard. She is one of those people that it is nearly impossible to be in a bad mood around. If you can you are dead inside and should seek the assistance of a Mercy immediately. In days like these it is sometime hard to find your smile. It is even rarer to find someone that will draw one out of you kicking and screaming if they must.

She is a surprise hugger though, be warned.

Relationship Note on Clover

I don't believe I've ever met someone who has made a more horrific introduction. Skipping by the river... and fell in. What she lacks in coordination, she makes up in enthusiasm however, and I am certain she'll find a way to help out here in Arx. That eagerness appears to translate into learning as well, which is good... but after hearing more and more about the Lady Clover, I do wonder if I haven't sent into a world of pain at The Gauntlet.

Relationship Note on Clover

So Sprout's in the city now! It's good to see her again.

Of course, I worry she'll trip and fall right into trouble -- she has a knack for that -- but then again, she seems to always spring back up again. Always comes through, still with a smile.

And frankly, that seemingly inexhaustible optimism and enthusiasm is something the city could sorely use these days. I only hope she can brighten the city, rather than it dimming her light.

Relationship Note on Clover

I can't believe Pickle's come to Arx! And a grown lady, too, though she's still knee high to a grasshopper. I met her over at the obstacle course at Telmar Tower, which admittedly did not seem to be quite her particular area of expertise, but she gave as good an effort as I've seen.

The lady has been my friend ever since I found her trying to teach my Da's sheep how to dance when she was just a little girl. It's a strange thing for a lady to be the friend of a farmboy, but she always had a kind word for me while I was a squire and learning to be a knight. I'm pleased to see her in person again -- though I confess, the city is a dangerous place to be these days. I only hope that her delightful spirit isn't dampened by these dark times.
