It was far too long since the last time were were able to sit down and speak together about whatever came to mind. I am so glad you reached out to invite me over, as I have been so busy of late. I watched Alexis fight again, in the Grand Melee. She defended her princess against an all out onslaught. Nobody could prevail in that dog pile. I hardly think it was fair or sporting, but she explained what must have been her attacker's strategy. And they carried that smaller part of the larger battle. One cannot argue with success, especially in battle.

You're welcome. I hadn't planned to run the Gauntlet that night, but there was incentive given in the form of the Duke of Telmar himself showing up at midnight to give his opinion on the nighttime runs. How could I not, when his encouragement was so hearty and vociferous? I will forever remember him in his nightclothes, face flushed with the exertion of sharing his outlook so vigorously.

It seems I am attending Alexis at a ball. We are starting to look more and more like a couple. It isn't a bad look, though I've always considered myself a servant of Gloria, then the Faith, and a lover... Well, not at all really. I've kept precious few if truth be told though it does seem to be the case that if I were to try it would not be difficult to rectify this oversight.
Really, people bemuse me at best. I prefer to turn my energy toward constructive things. Now what on earth while I wear...? It's white tie formal, white and gold. What is more formal than my robes? This might be a terrible idea...

I have received my final pieces of work from Dame Alexis. Her work is fantastic and of exquisite quality. I recommend anyone needing heavy armor work done to visit her at her shop and see what she can do for you. I know of none better.

I watched Dame Alexis Wyrmfang, Sword of Blancbier -- fight a bunch of lopsided, straw-filled dummies like they were her enemy -- I tossed myself into her spar. Back to back we practiced and introduced ourselves. Then we had a conversation about respect over bacon sandwiches and cider.
We both agreed that /everyone/ is deserving of a level of dignity and respect no matter who they are. Alexis pointed it out, and I thought that it was common sense.

This Oathlander armorsmith turned up at the Society looking for me. She was another friend of Niamh's, and wanted to express her condolences -- and share memories. It was... oddly relaxing, in a way. Sad, yes, but... nice to have a conversation that was about little things Nia did, rather than about the fate of the world or some impending abyssal threat.
(Gods, some days my to-do list would seem unfathomably odd to the Aislin of five years ago.)

Dame Alex. Dragon's Hearth. She's an armorer and a knight. She's got a bigass rubicund sword. She smiles a LOT. Seems nice, so, we're gonna be friends. AND she's gonna make me some armor. Definitely a good way to spend my allowance.

Relationship Note on Alexis
So, I met somebody new. She's a recently knighted Valardin Knight. She's also probably the cutest woman I've ever laid eyes on, and yet also strong, there's no doubting her prowess. I haven't been able to stop thinking about her, and I cannot wait until we finally have our dinner. Beautiful, charming and strong... I didn't even know they made women like her.
