Relationship Note on Neilda
A protege? I never thought I would ever take one on or found someone who impressed me enough for it. Neilda Saik though? Eager to learn and improve at her roles, striving to succeed in the tasks she has been given by her family. I approve of that fully.
Closer ties between Malvici and Saik cannot be overstated either.

Relationship Note on Samuele
Samuele is the younger brother to the Duchess Rubino. An impressively big man that makes an interesting drinking companion. Whereas I did not get completely drunk, he did need to sleep if off after. I'm finding it easier now to make connections and introduce and get introduced to people. At least he gets along with my friends that who have met him.
I plan to start testing him further soon and see what he is capable of.

It seems that everyone's eyes are turned to the Lodge and the battles, victories and losses that are coming from there.
Perhaps in years to come some may ask the question, 'Where was Malvici? Where was the House of War?'
Will the efforts of Southport's navy and her sailors in keeping the Empyrean Trade Route clear of pirate attack be acknowledged as equal to the heroics at the Lodge?
I think not. However it is not why we do such things. We do it because it needs to be done. Not for glory or renown but for the simple good for the Lyceum and the Compact.

I plan to do a more thorough journal entry on this subject so others may learn from it in years to come.
The Expedition to combat the pirates plaguing the Trade Route was most successful. Repeatedly we tracked them down, pursued them and either sunk or took their ships.
Dora is an incredible navigator and was instrumental in locating the pirate bands. I want her on my ship every chance I get.
Lord Santi proved why his is popular with his men, leading the boarding actions and shattering the enemy's will to fight.
Prince Jasher and his squadron showed why Thraxian's are considered the best naval warriors with his flanking actions and they truly are fierce warriors.
I am proud to have commanded and fought beside them all.

There are few things worse than knowing your comrades, friends are family are in battle risking their lives and there is nothing you can do to help them save prayer.

There is nothing quite a spar when afterwards it's not clear to an outsider who was the victor. I maintain that giving everything you have and walking away bruised and battered, even if walking may be an issue afterwards, is a good thing to be proud of.

It is a sobering thought knowing that so many people are preparing their wills in the case of them perishing in the defence of the Lodge.
Part of me aches to be there alongside them, fighting so that more of them can return.

The victor of the Grand Melee truly deserved the title. Out of a dozen combatants only one stood tall at the end and that was Princess Reese Grayson. She truly does represent the phrase 'None Greater Than Grayson'

Despite all my previous successes at the Queen of Games and how I had arguably played better than I ever have done in my life, the General demonstrated that even if you do everything right...It may not be enough.

The Thraxian Prince has possibly become my first true friend outside of my family that I have made since I arrived in Arx. I respect his reservation and the fact that he is willing to attempt different activities. Despite the fact that he has yet to best me in spar nor the Queen of Games, he has been improving each time. There'll be no shame in the day that he beats me... If he does.
