It was my honor to represent the Grayson team in the Compact Crew Race, as one of the rowers. It had been far too long since I competed alongside my Count Thesarin in this way, and it was most invigorating. In Prince Barric, one would ask for no greater rowing partner, and Lord Malesh the Marquis of Stonewood led us to good and direct victory.

I'm proud we won, but also hope we paid good homage to Mangata in a celebration of her waters. I would thank my fellow competitors from Valardin, Redrain, Velenosa, the Crownsworn and - most especially - Thrax for a spirited competition. I hope to row again next year, currents willing.

Samael has joined the Victorious.

Melinda has joined the The Red Serpent.

Sophie has joined the The Unsullied.

Titus, a young wolfhound arrives, following Gaston.

Sophie has left the The Unsullied.

Melinda has left the The Red Serpent.

Synder The Wolfhound arrives, following Barric.

Katarina has left the The Unsullied.

Melinda has joined the The Red Serpent.

Captain Reedy, a Telmarine military aide arrives, following Corban.

The waters off the shore of Arx are teeming with boats. Five fairly large ones, flagships of the varying houses, and more than a few from Thrax's fleet have been parked, anchors drop and provide the buffers for where the rowers will be making their way from point A, to point B. There are smaller ships within The Red Serpent, Thrax's Flagship and where the hosts of the event have settled themselves, people wishing to spectate from thier own ships. Even the Unsullied is out.

At one end of the pathway cleared by these large ships sits the crew boats. A leader sitting with their back to the finish line and a cone in hand to utter encouragement - or invectives depending on their style - which the trio of rowers sit at the ready on the low shallow and long rowing boats. Each fealty represented, everyone starts to get into place for the start.

Harald gets Canvas sack from Long blackwood box.

Harald gets Woolen overtunic with embroidered crosses and carved bone buttons from Canvas sack.

Samael has joined the The Red Serpent.

Gaston didn't have much water experience, outside of two voyages on the Unsullied, but he'd been nearby when they were making teams, and apparently drafted mostly for his positive attributes of being as strong as an ox.

Esoka is assembling with the other rowers competing for the Graysons. She's dressed down in plain breeches and a sleeveless tunic that puts the twining ink of her shav'arvani tattoos on display. The sort of clothing she doesn't mind getting wet. A couple of quick prayers - to Gloria and Mangata respectively - are murmured as she prepares.

The Oathlands are not known for its naval might. An oddity, perhaps, with how its western coast is flanked by the Eventide Vast. Speaking of such, Lord Armand Farshaw is here, perhaps to change that perception, even if with teeny, tiny boats. The Fleet Admiral, Princess Katarina Valardin, certainly has her own aims to see her family rise in maritime merit. Then there is Marquis Gaston Blackram, so large and so muscular, one might wonder if he won't accidentally sink the rowboat or accidentally tear the oars out. (Have you seen his arms?) Rounding out the representation is the Mother Mercy of Arx herself, Princess Sophie, who assumes her position as leader, after paying her respects to the magnificent statue of Mangata.

Melinda is there to help out her father even though she has married out, the new countess and count have shown there support for Thrax, as Melinda all but sits Artorius down in next to Harald.

Barric is, for once, unarmed. He hasn't been seen without Elvesbane forever: it is simply not /done/ that he lets the house sword out of his sight. But having the sword while rowing would be bad, and so for Grayson, he left said sword under heavy guard. Possibly excessively heavy guard. He's dressed in light, practical linens, with only a little fanciness about him on his belt buckle. Nodding to Esoka, he flashes her a small smile, "Ready?" as he comes to join the other Grayson rowers.

Captain Reedy, a Telmarine military aide leaves, following Corban.

Malesh sits in place to lead the Grayson Crew boat, filled with the strong backs of Barric, Edoka, and Thesarin. His normal long coat has been removed and folded up as something of a cushion for his seat in the bow. He's not going to give up every comfort after all. That bit of cloth makes the tall man that much taller, and whether his height will cause drag or help break the air around the boat remains to be seen. "Alright Graysons, let us show the compact that we've earned those famous Grayson words. Pull hard and true. Remeber that speed comes from smooth motion."

Harald Grimhall is, for once, not attired in steel armor, having shed harness to lessen weight (or because it's still being repaired, who can say?). The stonefaced old warrior sits in the competing Thraxian ship, an oar grasped in each calloused hand as he slowly rolls his shoulders, loosening stiff muscles. A glance and mute nod to each of the warriors sharing the boat.

Samael boards The Red Serpent, one of the spectator ships. If there is a specific ship for the Grayson cheering section he doesn't seem aware or concerned.

The Red Serpent, the High Lord of Thrax's prominent warship was at rest just off shore. A dromond of blood-red paint and intricate carvings of monsters at sea all across its hull. Stood at the bannister was Victus Thrax himself, the gangplank lowered just to his side. Crew and guard dotted all across the deck. In one hand was a half-empty bottle of rum while the other was draped over the side of his ship. Dark eyes were set out to the beaches as the competitors gather. He seems at peace for once, the man at last within his element.

Armand is, unexpectedly perhaps, one of the rowers seated for the Valardin boat. The nobleman's grinning as he glances at his fellow rowers, Gaston and Katarina. "Well this should be fun. I would say living on an island in the middle of nowhere pays off, but we don't use rowers in Westrock Reach." He pauses, before adding helpfully. "It does, however, cut down on our risks of being sea-sick. Or surprise at seeing sharks." Most helpful. He turns his gaze back to Sophie, their chosen leader, and waits for the signal.

Artorius pretty much grew up on the seas, as well as on the battlefield, so rowing a boat is no stranger to him. Though he was sat down next to Harald. "Father." in law, but still father, and he smiles to Melinda with a bow of his head. "alright, let's steal a win."

Faelan is stripped down to just his breeches. The plain brown sort, half bleached by past time out in the sun and the salt. He's got them tied off at the ankles so they won't get tangled if they get wet, and tied tied at the waist for the same reason. He's nearby the Thrax rowboat, drinking from a water skin, quiet for the most part. His body still bears the healing marks of a lot of small wounds siffered during his face to face ass kicking received at the hands of the Horned god.

Thesarin is here because Esoka mentioned it, and told her as much on the way, and when they asked for hands at the oars he offered his. He's stripped down to the waist, exposing a torso that's next to covered in winding, intrrlocking tattoos and scar tissue. He stares at Malesh for a moment and gives a single nod.

How could she miss this, late though she is. The Archlector of Mangata quicky hurries her way down towards the beach, sand fluttering around her bare feet. "Am I too--" Not too late, no. But stil late. She wears an unworried smile as she goes down towards the racers, looking pleased she made it in time for the stripping. Ahem.

At Harald's nod he climbs himself into the boat, settling in place, rolling shoulders and stretching out to loosen himself up.

"No time like the present to change such things," Katarina chimes in sweet optimism toward Armand and Gaston with a dimpled smile, stretching a hand across the edge of the rowboat to brush her fingertips against the water.

His body still bears the healing marks of a lot of small wounds suffered during his face to face ass kicking received at the hands of the Horned god. At Harald's nod he starts to stretch out, loosening himself up, and retrieves his oar, waiting for the race to begin.

"Well, it seems the experience rowing to those islands will pay off after all," Gaston remarks. "All in the rhythm, or so I'm told, yes?" the Blackram rumbles, windmilling his arms first forwards, then back, to loosen up some in preparation.

Esoka flashes Thesarin and Barric a fierce smile. "Quite so," she answers, for her readiness. Malesh is given a little bow of her shoulders.

Titania watches as her crew shows up nodding to them a small smirk on her face she is in leather pants and a silk top that the shoulders of the shit hang off, she looks to each of her rowers nodding her head, "We have a good crew, we can do this." she looks to each of them giving them a bit of a pep talk while they way maybe get them going and ready.."We are Thrax." she wrins.

How could the Archlector of Mangata miss this? She didn't, she's been here all along, smiling beatifically and letting the sea breezes play with her long golden brown hair. Madeleine looks towards the hosts and makes a little motion towards the water, waiting a cue to give the blessing before the race begins. The woman looks to be truly happy and in her element, the wind and wave all around her.

Alarissa is beside Victus, a white dress, red sea serpent embroidery curling around the hem and watching the racers in their boats. A glance to Melinda then back to the boats.

Beside all those sleek boats a smaller one sits with that cone at the ready, the starter so to speak. When everyone is in place, nos maller ships darting to and fro to ferry passengers to the boats they want to go on and enough people are getting restless, there is a horn blown, the indication for the rowers to start rowing as fast as they can.

Sophie checked command + leadership at difficulty 15, rolling 48 higher.

So how does Princess Sophie lead? It begins with a smile as encouraging and bright as a harbor light in the dark expanse of night time waves. It continues with a lambent voice, gentle yet resonant -- a voice well-suited for prayers -- that does indeed call out to honor the Gods. "O magnanimous Mangata, we caress Your sweet waters off this shore in honor of You and Your myriad blessings. We offer You the sweat of our brows and the wind in our lungs, oblations of our devotion. The Oathlands may not be renowned to be Your most devoted of children, but devoted, we are. Know that each stroke is a stanza of a canticle that sings Your praises." The words ebb and flow with a certain cadence that syncopates with what (Sophie was told) is an optimal pace for rowing.

Malesh continues to talk, since he is quite the talker, though he's not yet using the cone to ampliphy his voice. "I'll note that I'm not above rewarding a good showing here, on the off chance that Grayson Pride isn't enough to carry us to victory, there will be a round of drinks at my expense, and perhaps a sweet word in the right ear as well, for any of you that are looking to bend some ears to your pet projects. Oh, and... well let's not get too close to the Thrax boat shall we? Not that I don't trust Prince Barric to be capable of repelling any boarders, I'd prefer not to have to find out." He's grinning wide by the end of that jest, having some fun right up until the race begins.

Melinda frowns a little as she looks to Alarissa "I should had just grabed a ship, though its always good to see everyone. "Go Thrax!" the countess shouts over the water

Barric flashes a grin over towards Malesh, "Let them try. I'll beat them with a oar." But then he goes to take his place within the boat as the race begins, and puts his back into it.

Artorius puts his hands on the oars, ready to make that ship move, or help, to be more accurate. "alright, let's do this." he nods a few times ready to get moving when the race gets started, putting the work into it.

Interestingly enough, Mangata happens to be rather important back in Westrock Point. Thus, Sophie's prayer ensures Armand rows, not just with the strength of his arms, but with the one of his faith. He follows the pace dictated by the Valardin Princess' words, and does so well, focused and steady.

Harald spares words and banter as the rowing gets underway. The stonefaced Duke of Grihem's Point rows hard, but is not reckless in exertion, pacing himself for the start of the race.

Gaston puts some muscle into it, but perhaps his earlier words were right, and it was more rhythm than strength of back and arm. A rhythm he perhaps doesn't have down quite yet. Luckily, his team mates, Armand and Katarina are far more used to such nautical pursuits and keep their boat in the lead, at least for now, while the Blackram gets the hang of things.

Malesh raises the cone and starts shouting through it whent eh horn blows. He has no prayers or songs or poems or other sweet words, just a simple tried and true encouraging shout of "Row" again and again. The rhythimg is steady, and he moves his body with it, leaning with his rowers, trying to keep all for moving as one rather than just sitting there like some kind of ornament. "Row, Row, Row!" He goes, on and on.

Esoka laughs heartily at Malesh's words as she takes her place in the boat with Barric and Thesarin. "I'd not say no to a round of drinks, my lord." She gets right to work. She's helped crew a river boat a time or two in her life, and her muscles fall into the rhythm of the work happily.

Thesarin starts to slice his oar through the water, glowering forward at Malesh, looking quite like he's going to war rather than a sporting event. "Let's show the Silks how it's done, eh."

"All who sail these seas are blessed and in return blessing the Goddess with their efforts. That said, 'ROW'!" The plump Archlector calls out cheerfully as they pull away and start their efforts. It's not a real blessing but an encouragement.

Titania speaks up she normally does not speak in such a way always soft spoken but not this day no she speaks with a strong command in her voice, "Mangata gide us!" she states as the race starts, "Easy and steady, no need to tire yourselves out right away." she states to them and instead of yelling she starts to hit the horn making a sound much like a drum would and starts a rythm for them to follow, "Thats it Row.'

Malesh checked command + leadership at difficulty 20, rolling 25 higher.

Off like a shot, it takes a few strokes for the ships to start, but off they go. The Valardin boat seeming to take the lead, but almost even is Grayson, and Thrax, even while the crownsworn, redrain and velenosa boats seem to be strugging to get off to a good start. But sleek ships and good crews start to slice that straight path through water.

Let's be honest here. Prince Barric, Sword of Bastion, knows absolutely nothing about boats or ships or things that float on the water. Its a miracle he knows what end of the oar goes in the water. But really, once he gets into the rhythm of it, its not all that different from lifting weights. Oh, its completely different in form, but in function, he gets into the pattern of leaning forward, pulling back. Forward. Back. Stroke after stroke, they rush through the water at Malesh's direction.

Esoka gives Thesarin a decidedly wry look when he makes that comment about Silks, snorting out a chuckle. As she rows, rows, rows. Shoulders and biceps flexing with the effort of it, but she seems to joy in the exertion. Her strokes find a good rhythm with Barric's and Thesarin's, and she keeps her eyes and ears sharp on Malesh for orders.

Harald's expression finally flickers from stoicism as the ship of merry Grayson amateurs takes a strong lead. Harald's lip twists in a scowl, low words growled through clenched teeth.

"O valorous Gloria, to You we dedicate our arms... and-- and our backs." Although with the way Sophie is starting to look a little green around the gills, once would hope not their stomachs. "We come with noble hear--" It's no secret among her family that the Mother Mercy has been known to suffer motion sickness on ships. Surely, she thought, on something this small she would be fine. It would seem not. Enough so that she starts rummaging into a medicinal pouch to fish out some manner of root that she pops in her mouth and starts chewing, hoping that it will start working sooner than later.

Faelan continues in silence himself, though his eyes do narrow and he tries to put more of his back into the rowing. Unfortunatley he doesn't have much more back to put in. He down's speak, just scowls and rows.

For someone who was in a coma not too long ago, Armand's doing surprisingly well, rowing away on that boat. Not as well, unfortunately, as other rowers. Still, he doesn't look around to check, focused on the motion, of the pace, and keeping it.

Thesarin continues to work his way through the strokes, one at a time, still glaring foward. The lines on his skin ripple and roll over taunt sinew and steely thewes.

Malesh may not be a great sea-captain, but he's read a lot of books. He may have even stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night, because his simple and pragmatic chant of "Row" seems to be getting results as the Grayson rowed boat that he leads pulls ahead of Valardin after having been just behind. The trick, he'd claim, is not in the method of chanting, but in the promise of drinks. All ships sail on the crew's thirst, wind and oars be dammed.

Artorius keeps rowing, possibly rowing the hardest of the group, but thats arguable. He looks around, "come on lads...put your backs into it." he says with a grin, clearly having some measure of fun.

Titania looks at her crew, "I did not say slack!" she barks at them, "Row! We are thrax! We are of the sea! Lets go! come on!" she yells as she looks to each and everyone of them, "ROw!" she looks as the Grayson ships out."Come on!"

Oars pull, the captains of each boat sitting high on the prow of those crew ships, shouting encouragement. It's amazing the speed that the dedicated rowers can pull off and as they start to pass by the ships lining the event, everyone can see the grayson boat gain an inch, then another, on the Valardin one. Thrax seeming to hold it's own, but losing those few precious inches that can make or break. But the length of raceway is only half conquered and it only gets harder since it's a sprint, not a long leisurely row and everyone has to keep in sync.

The Blackram Marquis seems to be getting into a better rhythm of things... But apparently not as well as certain others. Strength alone, it seems, was not all that was required, even if Gaston does make a show of it.

Reese arrives late to the rowing event while adorned in lots of pink and toting along her weapons. She is quick to turn her attention to the boats, trying to get a feel for a the current competition. She cheers for the Grayson team. "Woots, go Gryphons!"

Can one successfully sneak into an event such as this? Perhaps! The pair of Keaton's move in down the stretch of the beach with the other spectators. Reigna is, of course, on Kael's arm and the Count is taking a great deal of time in escorting her. The excuse of his wife being very pregnant is still valid and perhaps excuses their tardiness. Who knows how long they were trying to make it down from the pathway!

This time around, Sophie is silent, apart from the sound of rhythmic tapping, courtesy of her palms meeting wood in a steady drumbeat. The smile she musters for her team is one both apologetic and encouraging.

Armand's not doing so well anymore. Perhaps it's the lack of encouraging prayers. Perhaps it's the limits of his body making themselves known. Still he persists, stubbornly rowing where all else might fail. One can always depend on Farshaw stubbornness.

Reese has joined the The Red Serpent.

Stroke! Stroke! Its the light misting of water from the rowing that keeps Barric mostly from not sweating, but despite having only done this once for practice, he keeps the pace and the focus.

Melinda is on a ship and she calls out trying to encourage the thraxian, with little cheers from the sidelines. she smiles softly to Victus and she offers the same smile to Alarissa before she looks back at the race

Kael has joined the The Red Serpent.

Thesarin is sweating now, teeth gritted, ropes of black hair plastered to his face by spray and sweat, but he keeps going--stroke, stroke, stroke.

Malesh continues to lean his body in time with his team, but he's no athlete and given the length of the course even that repeated motion is tiring. He can see the entire field before him, as he has his back to the finish line, and his melodic chant of "Row!" Seems to widen the Grayson lead over Thrax a little, with Valadrin, Redrain, and the Crownsworn boats lagging further behind. He leans a little one way, his free hand letting go of it's white-knuckle grip on the boat long enough to signal for his rowers to adjust their stroke a little, trying to keep the path of the boat nice and straight despite the lopsided efforts of the Grayson Team.

Faelan damn well rows for all he's worth, hauling on the oars, straining his whole body into the rowing, very possibly opening up some of his still healing wounds. He'll catch hell from the healers later for that.

Harald grunts through his teeth with every oarstroke, the exertion visibly beginning to wear on him as the Isles boat gains slightly on the Grayson leaders, but only putting a dent in the substantial lead.

Esoka is sweating now, chest rising and falling in time with her oars. "Do the Graysons have a song?" she ask. Of Barric, mostly. "We need a drummer out for this next time. Keeps things lively." Complaints about the lack of in-boat music aside, she's still plainly enjoying herself. Paying only scant attention to the other boats in the water. All focus on her team, and her rowing, and reaching the end of this in smooth form.

Madeleine yells out encouragingly, "Pull, Pull!"

Titania eyes Harald her eyes narrow watching him as they go, "Come on, we can do this! Lets go, row! row! row!" she shouts at them on her ship, "We are Thrax!"

There's a momentary 'Are you kidding me?' look on Reigna's face when faced with the prospect of getting into a boat, and there is a deliberate sort of care taken with the heavily pregnant Keaton Countess as she joins her husband on the audience skiff. Once settled, she is happy enough.

And just like that, oars out of sync, someone pulling not as hard as before, those muscles that start to sore and weary, each pull and perhaps even not lifing the oar fully out of the water, the tides turn. Grayson still in the lead thrax and Valardin so close before that it was actually hard to tell who was in the lead, but Thrax proves it's might, which slips Valardin to sip to third. Velenosa, Redrain and the Crownsworn find themselves falling back but clustered around one another and the finish line looms near. It's anyone game truly, as tiredness sets in and it becomes harder to concentrate.

"O merciful Lagoma, please make the spinning stop." That probably is not what Sophie set out to say to encourage her team. The drumming has stopped, replaced with nauseated rocking.

It might be said that there is one House in all the land who absolutely does not need their ego stoked. The whole rest of the Compact might be groaning at the moment, for when it is apparent they might actually end up winning, Barric lets out a shout, "GRAYSON!" He is sweating now, and he pushes through it and a cramp from his muscles being a little unused to this particular activity, but he pushes!

Malesh never stops chanting for the rowing until his team has reached the finish, but he's not an athlete and as they near the finish line he moves his body back and forth less and less, the sweat shining on his brow despite that being the only effort he's put forth. Meanwhile though, his rowers continue to pull (reletively) hard until the end, driving the Grayson team to a healthy victory. It might be said they've cheated though, as Esoka continues to pull as hard as any two rowers! Is she really two sailors working together?

Turns out that willpower also gets you only so far. While he manages to keep rowing, Armand's best efforts are not enough to get their boat to catch up on the others. Still, he won't give up until they reach the finish line, one way or another.

Thesarin continues to push, stroke after stroke, and his rhythm starts to falter; the oar chops at the brine, as the tattoed man starts to blow through his nose through the finish line.

boy does Artorius try hard, using his strength to try to roooowww for that extra little inch as best he can. Though he may be outclassed by the groups of others, he remains calm, doing his best!

Melinda watches the ending and she is cheering for Thrax and her husband to finish.. "Good rowing, good rowing!"

"Mangata guide us to the end of your waters...Gloria give us strength to perseve..." Esoka mutters this to herself, in time to her strokes, as they get to the end of the course. It's getting harder and more exhausting, but she can //feel// the finish line close now, and keeps pushing up until the very end. Barric's shout gets a cry of surprise from her. As if she's only //then// aware that she's won. "Kin in honor!" she bellows the Riven words, as they pull it out.

Harald strains at the oars with stony resolve until they cross the line, though by the cheers and shouts for Grayson, it is clear a particular rival boat beat them there. Only raising oars to rest once the race is run, the old reaver sits upright on the rowing bench, shoulders and chest heaving for air, countenance grim.

Faelan stares in quiet disbelief as house Greyson wins the race. He stares long and hard at the boat. "Good effort." He finally comments to the others on the boat with him. Then he begins to row again, this time towards the big observations hips. "They have pink boats." He comments, tone grumbly as he rows, as if that should somehow assauge the loss to the Greysons.

Alaric regally applauds the rowers as they pass the finish line. "Well competed!" he calls out, keeping it up even for the sixth and final boat.

Slowly, but surely Gaston rows... But slowly doesn't exactly help on a race, does it? Their boat lagging further and further behind, he tries, but well... they're not winning. Not even close.

Reese cheers from where she stands on the Red Serpent. "Yay! Gryphons!"

Titania looks to her crew, "Thank you Mangata." she says watching them, she is happy with at least not coming in last. She moves from where she is to squat down in front of Harald leaning in to whisper to the man that is in front of her.

At the beginning of the race, Sophie offered oblation to Mangata in the form or sweat and breath. Now can be included the contents of her stomach, including the root that just didn't act quickly enough. At the very least, it's makeshift chum for any fishes. Also, good thing that aeterna doesn't stain. Getting out the smell of bacon might be another matter, though.

Across the finish line, a line hangs in the air from the two last spectating ships, red and black pennants hanging from them and fluttering in the breeze. But those boats come bearing down, each leader giving encouragement and as people see that finish ine so close, they give a little more. Grayson slides in first with what seems to be a well won win by a good foot and behind them, Thrax doing their house proud with a sound second. Valardin a few feet behind that as they try and try and at least they beat the crownsworn which comes in behind them wth thier own prow barely touching the back of Valardin's boat. Velenosa is no souch and they come in second to last. Bringing up the rear and in truth, perhaps not that much of a surprise is landlocked Redrain who tried thier best and still did very good.

Cheers go up from the spectating boats, screams a plenty that echo over the water and filter toward the beach where eventually a cheer can be heard from the many that gather there in the hopes of catching glimpses.

grayson wins

And like that, the race is over and little by ittle people start to be ferried back to the shores so that the racers can catch their breath, eh trophy can be dispensed, and the celebration can begin.

Alaric is overheard praising Sophie for: She definitely gave it her all!

Samael is overheard praising Alarissa for: Great race!

Artorius would help row the boat to second place! and Artorius just let it drop, taking a biiiiiig sigh. "whew.....that was fun." he says with a smile "Graysons beat us by a bloody inch...we'll get 'em next time." he chuckles a little, rising to his feet.

Samael is overheard praising Esoka for: Did Grayson proud.

Alarissa is overheard praising Titania for: Great leadership!

Reese is overheard praising Alarissa for: Great Event!

Alarissa is overheard praising Harald for: Fantastic rowing!

Malesh is overheard praising Esoka for: She rowed as hard as any two in the race!

Samael is overheard praising Malesh for: Good stepping up!

Reese is overheard praising Malesh for: Woots, lead us to victory!

Alarissa is overheard praising Artorius for: Make a grimhall out of you yet!

Malesh is overheard praising Barric for: A strong and consistant member of the Grayson boat crew

Reese is overheard praising Barric for: My cousin is quite the example of Grayson physical power!

Alarissa is overheard praising Faelan for: Great rowing!

Melinda is overheard praising Artorius for: For Rowing for Thrax!

Armand looks back to his fellow Valardin rowers, once the race is over. "It was a pleasure to row with you." he says honestly. "Didn't win, but neither did we come in last." he gives a satisfied nod.

Reese is overheard praising Esoka for: She is so strong!

Sophie is overheard praising Alarissa for: A wonderful event -- apart from the nausea and vomit.

Malesh is overheard praising Thesarin for: They also rowed the Grayson boat some!

Madeleine lets out a loud whistle of appreciation as the victors cross the pennent line. She claps with a sort of earthy aplomb better suited for pig racing than a noble regatta race.

Harald gives a stiff nod to Titania, and a short word under his breath to his fellow oarsmen. "It is good to have you among us, Darksteel. Even if only in sport," to Artorius.

Reese is overheard praising Thesarin for: The count cans sure row!

Sophie is overheard praising Armand for: A fine showing for Farshore.

Barric is overheard praising Esoka for: In a battle or a boat, she'll have your back!

Thesarin pulls his oar in and places his hands on his knees, taking deep, long breaths that move his chest up and down in a steady rhythm. He looks up, with just a hint of a smile.

Victus puts a leg up against the Red Serpent's rail, clapping his large hands together for the sport. "Excellent showing from all of you lot. Ya' put your backs into it and didn't fuck about." That's about as high praise as it gets for the High Lord, his rum still held close at hand as he finishes with a swig.

Sophie is overheard praising Gaston for: Arms like oak tress. Please lift me out of the boat.

Esoka attempts A LOT of shoulder-clapping and back-slapping once the race is over on Barric, Thesarin, and Malesh. Curls soaked with both sweat and sea water, but eyes shining and smile radiant. A low bow is offered in the direction of Alarissa, and another to Madeleine, once her feet are back on the beach. "Gods! This makes me miss the rivers of the Twainfort. Anytime your lordships wish to try the waters of the Twins, you'd be most welcome."

Barric is overheard praising Malesh for: He served well at leading our team!

Melinda has left the The Red Serpent.

1 Sea Rover Bodyguards have been dismissed.

Armand is overheard praising Sophie for: She set the beat under duress!

Barric is overheard praising Thesarin for: A capable and worthy teammate!

Thesarin is overheard praising Esoka for: she does me proud.

Sophie is overheard praising Katarina for: Well done. I shall leave all things nautical to you lest you want the Unsullied to be sullied.

Katarina is overheard praising Sophie for: You were phenomenal, even with the sea sickness!

Armand is overheard praising Gaston for: Rowed with me, and he did good!

Thesarin is overheard praising Malesh for: He lead, we won. What else is there to say?

Katarina is overheard praising Gaston for: Arms of steel.

Malesh slumps in his seat. "Well done Graysons, well done." The Grayson boat is actually quite diverse, and so he clearly means to short hand version of 'Graysons and vassals and knights sworn to grayson' because even he is not so long winded. He is now just regular winded, and he slumps in his seat after Esoka knocks his lanky body around with her somehow still powerful clapping and slapping. He heaves for breath some and lays an arm along the rail, the cone dropped at his feet. A wave slips his arm into the water as his rowers guid them back to the beach, and he draws back a wet sleave with a perturbed face.

Armand is overheard praising Katarina for: Rowed for Valardin, and did well for herself!

Artorius grins at Harald, giving him a nod. "My pleasure, Duke Grimhall." and he looks around "shame we lost, but there's always next time." he bows his head respectfully.

Gaston slowly extricated himself from the boat, once able, and stretches his overly long legs. Kneading a few cramps from the limbs. He gives a nod back to Armand, and then smiles sharply towards Katarina and Sophie as well. "Not so bad really, for a fealty that

Titania nods her head looking to where Victus is she bows her head to him then looks to the others, "You all did well, good job." she says back in her normal soft tone of speaking.

Barric is full of grins and pride, shoulder-clapping Esoka right back, "Well done, well done indeed, Dame. I knew you could be counted on in a fight, but I'm not at all surprised you did as well here." And he nods to Thesarin with a similar smile, "And you as well! On behalf of Grayson,.." He nods to Malesh to include him, "Thank you all for your work. The Crownlands are proud!"

Gaston slowly extricated himself from the boat, once able, and stretches his overly long legs. Kneading a few cramps from the limbs. He gives a nod back to Armand, and then smiles sharply towards Katarina and Sophie as well. "Not so bad really, for a fealty that's hardly known for it's prowess at sea," he offers. "Though I suppose that's not quite accurate where you two are concerned," nodding to Katarina and Armand, then. "Still, think I'm best suited for more... Landbound pursuits."

Katarina quirks her mouth in soft humor toward Gaston. "You have to give yourself more credit than that, Gaston," she claims, easily bounding out of the boat and through the shallows of the surf to reach the dry shoreline. "You managed to stay balanced, in time, and pulling enough for the both of us back there." Her dimpled smile only grows in fondness for Sophie. "And you, too, Merciful Mother. Hopefully your, ah, sickness doesn't keep you for much longer." Armand receives a knowing grin.

Armand laughs at that. "Oh no. The only times I've sailed was as a passenger. I am a knight, the heavy plate-wearing kind. The land is where I belong." he tells Gaston, even as he stands to stretch... and gives Sophie a slightly worried look. "Anyone know a healer?" He gives a nod to Katarina in return, still smiling.

Esoka approaches the Thrax contingent, when she's extricated herself from the Grayson boat. "It was an honor to compete against sailors of the Mourning Isles," she says, with a bow. Particularly deep, for Harald and Faelan. "I thank Lagoma the pair of you were whole enough for the competition today, Duke Grimhall, Lord Navegant. I'm sure you've both received many accolades for your bravery on the battlefield, but you've my great respect as well."

Once Sophie is properly ashore, it takes a moment for the dizziness to abate. It then takes a moment more before she realizes, "We came in third place?" That seems to bring some brightness and color back to her face. "How wonderful! You came through when I faltered," she praises her teammates. At the jokes at her expense, she laughs. "I know a few." Oh, but when she hears Redrain came in last place, she looks around to see if she can find Darren in the crowd so that she may cheekily quip to her friend something along the lines of 'to the last, indeed'. Alas. It is not to be.

Thesarin returns the clasps on the shoulders, with less vigor that he might have at the start. He nods slowly. "Prince, excellent showing. Marquis." Another nod. "You took us to the finish." One more nod to his tribeswoman. "Esoka." Nothing else.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Thesarin before departing.

It takes some time to get everyone back to docks, for boats to unload, and people to start to filter back to the beach. The sun starting to set, torches lighting up the area, bonfires in various places lit and blazing. There's food a plenty and drinks runnign freely. Alcohol of all kinds, non-alcoholic for those who aren't drinking. Roast pig, -goat-, fruits, vegetables the usual easy fare to gather in ones hands and enjoy. Music filters from wandering musicians. But gathering near Mangata's statue is where the action is as the head of Thrax and his wife stand with the trophy, ready to present it to the grayson team, after which, it seems, there's to be a blessing to be spoken by the Archlector before the party really gets in swing.

Harald turns an eye to Esoka as the warrior woman approaches the Isles boat. Drawing a slow breath through the nose, he makes a motion for her to rise from tge bow, and answers with a slow nod for Esoka's gracious words, "Tell me your name."

Alarissa has left the The Red Serpent.

Faelan climbs out of the boat he's in, wearily. He winces a bit, hand going down to his bandaged side. He grumbles softly about healers wanting to skin him alive, and then looks up as they're approached. He offers a quick bow in return to Esoka as she speaks. "Thank you. And it was a good race. You all sailed well. And your n..." He stops as Harald beats him to the question and just tilts his head forwards.

Alaric has left the The Red Serpent.

Titania stands by Harald now she is quiet no more yelling for her, she looks to Esoka nodding her head to the woman, she looks to both Faelan and Harald with a bit of concern but she does not voice it not here not at the moment.

Malesh extracts himself from the Grayson boat and fiddles with his long coat. Rather than put it back on after using it for a cushion, he draps the creased thing over his left arm, trying to disguise how wet it's gotten from the race. He looks around as he waits for the expected ceremony, that he might find and congratulate the other teams when the pomp is over with.

Hopping out of the boat, the Count Magnotta takes a bit of a streeeeeettttccchh. whew, that was tough. but all in good fun. He does look for Alaric though, maybe wanting to ask him a question.

Bianca descended the steep incline leading to the beach, pale gaze cast across those gathered and soon she was en route to better hear the trophy ceremony and the Archlector. Only a few were recognized, though that was of no surprise having been cloistered away for nearly a year's worth of time.

The reverberating pound of a drum thunders out as the oars of the Red Serpent set to motion. With a few powerful heaves, it sets itself against the dock as its ram against the bow kicks up sand toward shore. As quickly as it had begun, the oars are all stilled at the same time. The gangplank smacks against the docks and down comes the rest of the crowd with it. Victus Thrax among them, hoisting an impressive looking trophy against his shoulder with his wife in tow. He gestures for the Archlector of Mangata to stand along with them as they stride across the beach.

"House Grayson. Congratulations, ya' won." Victus calls out. "When the Archlector has finished her prayer, ya' may fight among yourselves for who gets to touch the trophy first."

"Dame Esoka Greenblood, Sword of the Twainfort," she gives to Harald and Faelan. She's starting to properly feel her tiredness now, as she rush of the actual competition wears off. "My! That was bracing!" The Valardin rowing team receives a bow from her as well, before she rejoins the Grayson team for the trophy presentation.

Kael and Reigna totally and entirely were on The Unsullied the whole while spectating. Really. And applauding. When they are ferried back to the shore, he is guiding his wife to watch the ceremony. There's the possibility that roast goat also might be snared with entirely too much amusement.

"That should be a fun fight to watch." Reese, says peeking over the Grayson team. She joins the others on the docks and seems to be in a good mood. She then leads over to Faelan and Harald. "I am surprised it went that way." She says, in a voice that is rather softly thoughtful. "Thank you both again for what you did in Farhaven."

Reese is overheard praising Harald for: So brave! The Duke is a hero.

Thesarin steps onto the shore carefully, stretching as he reaches dry land, reaching a meaty hand to work his neck. He has an eye on Esoka and the Thrax team, keeping his distance, but watching.

Reese is overheard praising Faelan for: Lord Faelan knows no fear!

Kael has left the The Unsullied.

Reigna has left the The Unsullied.

Ashore, Gaston seems more at home, though he starts to pace in a wide circle, seeming almost restless, movement never ceasing. Eyes scanning the crowd from his height, staring at the others.

Harald grunts quietly to Esoka's name and station, giving a short nod to the knight as she exclaims and moves to rejoin her team. Reese is given a curt nod of acknowledge her words. As the trophy presentation is underway, his response is given quietly.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Thesarin before departing.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Thesarin before departing.

Head held high with motherly price, the Archlector barefoots it across the sand alongside the Highlord and his bride. "Beloved of Mangata," Madeleine says in a loud clear voice. The curvy woman claps her hands together before her in prayer, letting the noise signal a time for reverence. The sea breezes lift and play at her golden hair, stealing it out from under her ocean-green veil. "We have come here today together to pray. For even if we do not lift our voices in prayer, we lift our hearts in gladness in thanks for the sun and sea, the wind and wave, and our time in communion with it. To House Grayson - None Greater indeed. They have proven themselves to be strong of heart and strong of arm. May the sea be ever calm, may the storm be ever gentle, and may the winds be ever at your back." She bows her head and shoulders to the winning team. "And to the rest of you, let this not their victory be counted as a loss against you. Use it as a reason to strive harder - pull harder and work in a greater team for the next time. Always, striving for greater things."

She bows her head to the statue and calls cheerfully, "In the name of the Gods. I bless this feast. May it grant us purity and nourishment, with thanks to Petrichor for the bounty of the land and Mangata for the blessings of the rain. Now dig in, eat, eat, you must all be -exhausted-!"

There is another of those fretful moments as Reigna gets back on land, but soon enough she's smiling. Of course once they find themselves at the food and that tiny roasted goat is spied, Reigna's eyes go wide. So it is as she makes her way towards Victus and Alarissa, her expression has been carefully cultivated into a mask of false woe as she looks to the Princess Consort. "Was she too full of woe, my dear friend? I hope she is at least, delicious." She cannot resist a laugh then, even as she moves to kiss the air next to Alarissa's cheek and turns to at least try to curtsey to Victus. "Your Grace, I hope you are well."

"Well met then Dame Greenblood." Faelan offers with a nod of his head to her. "Surprised us as well Princess." He offers in response to Reese, a smile on the blonde sailor's face. "I..." He pauses as Harald is silent, just nodding, a soft chuckle leaving Faelan. "I talk too much for Harald's liking. But Harald was doing what needed to be done. And I damn well wasn't going to let him do it alone. I'm not sure it was bravery so much on my part as stupidity, but I'll take the accolades none the less." He offers her a broader smile, then goes quiet as the trophy is presented.

2 Iron Guardsmen, Aemily - A Black Hound, 1 Saik Guard, Amethyst - A Clever Raccoon, Ortrik, A Navegant Scholar, 3 Navegant Marines arrive, following Arcelia.

Alaric proceeds along with the crowd exiting the Red Serpent, diverting with the others to stand off to the side for the presentation and taking the moment to assess some of Zelda's constant supply of official documents and correspondence for review. With the Archlector's blessing done, he looks up with a smile and proceeds towards Malesh. "Allow me to give you your well-deserved congratulations for your team's efforts, Marquis! Coming out in front of a boat full of Thraxians is quite the accomplishment," he declares approvingly.

For once, the thought of eating delicious things does not delight Sophie. Indeed, it seems to have an opposite effect. Indeed, her head might be bowed in solemn prayer long enough to suggest it isn't merely religious devotion keeping the Mother Mercy so still.

Samael has already started on his festivities but quiets down during the blessing. After so, her cheers, "None Greater!" The Bisland Lord makes his way up to Malesh following behind the King. "Yes, yes, congratulations! That was quite a race," Samael adds after Alaric's praise.

Reese cheers after the prayer and as the trophy is given out. She lingers near Harald and Faelan for a moment and seems to be whispering with Harald about something, probably military things or something. She then turns back to Faelan. "Most people wouldn't have done that. I am glad to see you are recovered." She adds, keeping her voice soft.

Victus hoists the trophy up high and strides across the beach, trailing alongside the King. "Marquis Malesh was it?" He asks of the Stonewood, a scrutinizing gaze up and down. Measuring and appraising. "Good job. This is for your team, but you get to hold it first as the leader. Take that with pride." He presents the gleaming and golden trophy to him, haphazardly balancing it within his palm to be taken. There's a look shared back toward Reigna as well, the girl earning a look of familiarity as well. "Better than I usually am, better than I would be if I were still stuck up at the fucking estate. It's much fresher out here. Saltier too."

Esoka bows her head as Madeleine recites the blessing, murmuring along with the end of those prayers under her breath. She's not all solemnity, though, eyes shining with pride as they rest on that trophy.

"Too ful of w-" Oh. Alarissa looks to the roasting goats and laughs. "No! Greta lives with the Grimhalls. Safe for now, as the cooks I think, are too enamoured with her. I don't know what that is Countess Keaton. Count Keaton" Air kisses back after the blessing shave been laid and looks to Sophie. "Go enjoy yourself Reigna, please. While you still can!" A hand grazing her upper arm and a dip of her head to Kael before turning to regard Victus, the trophy and stands there smiling wide. "it was so hard to cheer for just one. But at least one of my faovurites won!" Spoken to the Grayson team assembled.

Titania breaths deeply looking to Esoka and then to Reese, she looks to the others on her team. "If you will excuess me unless I am still needed." she looks to Harald, she almosr looks like she was here to fo what was needed then may leave unless stopped.

The Archscholar murmured a conclusion beneath her breath at the tail end of Madeleine's blessing, a somber addition on behalf of her own focal god. Soon after Bianca's glance lifted and traced across the various faces, but it was the woman of gold woven hair that held her focus as soon as Sophie was found. A beat passed before the lithe woman proceeded toward the Mother Mercy, stilling silently nearby though a soft smile rested on her lips as she waited.

Malesh extends his DRY hand to The King, trying to keep that wet left hand hidden under his coat still. "Your Majesty in truth I had strong backs in my boat, and Thrax may have had a better captain. I have no doubt that, were their sails involved, we'd have been a close second instead of a close first." He smiles and notes, "Still, House Stonewood is always eager to do House Grayson proudly." He turns as another important man calls his name, two in one day now, and he takes the offered trophy from Victus. "Thank you Prince Victus, but I assure you it was the hard efforts of my Grayson Rowers that made all the difference." He holds the trophy towards his crew then, "Come, Barric, Thesarin, and Esoka, bask in the glory of your hard-gouth victory!"

With her usual accompaniment of guards, pets, and her assistant, Arcelia makes her way out onto the beach just in time to see Victus holding up the trophy. With one hand over her very pregnant belly Arcelia continues on towrds the crowed. She is dressed in a light blue dress tonight with silvery accents and her hair is curled and pulled off to the left side. She has a bright smile on her face as she gently places a hand on Titania's shoulder. "Lady Titania, a pleasure to see you."

Reese turns her attention to Titania, giving her a smile. "Lady Titania." She says in her direction. "It is nice to see you."

Harald mutters aside to Faelan, "Aye. You talk too much." That said, the Grim Duke eyes the goings-on with reserved attention.

Reese then smiles over to Bianca. "Oh, archscholar, it is nice to see you as well. It has been a while." She says. Reese then hmms. "He doesn't talk to much. "Reese says, but she talks a lot herself. She starts toward the Grayson team and attempts to hug Esoka.

Madeleine goes to partake of that lovely feast.

Kael, thusly, is brought before the head of Thrax and his Princess Consort. The Keaton Count is silent, though he bows his head low by way of greeting in a most humble manner toward the pair. When Reigna is bid to enjoy herself, he is maneuvering to draw her back toward the festivities as a whole. Just a few paces, mind you, and thereafter she'll likely be the one to guide them onward.

Thesarin stands, shirtless, before the king, soaked in sweat, looking every inch the tattooed shav warlord. He lowers his head at the prayer, and raises one hand to his chest in a gesture of respect. He steps forward as the trophy is presented, and reaches one hand glab the trophy.

Bianca inclined her head to Reese before she could dart off, "Princess. It is pleasant to see you and it has been too long."

Barric moves over to inspect the trophy, flashing Malesh a grin and laughing softly. A respectful nod is given to the Victus, then looks to Malesh, "And House Stonewood has never disappointed us, and did not do so today, Marquis."

"Indeed it is, Your Grace, I hope your evening continues to satisfy." Reigna dips her head to Victus, before laughing with Alarissa. As she is bid to go, she nods and follows Kael as he leads her away. There is a thoughtfulness to Reigna as she glances back to her friend before she leans in to Kael and murmurs something quietly, rubbing at her back absently, clearly looking a bit fatigued.

Esoka is an //enthusiastic// hugger, so she throws her arms around Reese in return. With feeling. There's a lot of back-slapping. "Princess! That was such fun! It is ever an honor to represent the griffons like this. My, Prince Barric and row! And Lord Malesh was a steady hand in keeping us on course."

When Sophie's head finally lifts and her eyes open, she notices her Archscholar cousin gently regarding her. With a smile that is warm and sheepish and lambent and amused, she notes to Bianca, "Still prone to seasickness. I had mistakenly thought it wouldn't occur on such a tiny boat. But come!" Arms are outstretched and hands offered for fond clasping. "It has been far too long." It's ok. She managed to get the puke all outside of the boat.

Alaric eyes the size of the trophy and gives Malesh a 'good luck' grin before turning back to Samael. "I suppose we can add 'picking out trophies' to the list of things Victus doesn't do in half measures," he comments before turning to regard the victorious team congregating around the trophy like a proud father. A proud father who is younger than nearly all of his children, somehow. "Nicely rowed, Barric. You're still terrible at not losing, I see. Keep it up. Count Thesarin, splendidly done out there. And Dame Esoka! Jousting and rowing, you're rather multi-talented. A fine performance by all of you!"

Madeleine has left the The Red Serpent.

Reese smiles over to Bianca once again. "I still have your holy water and healing salve. That feels like so long ago, when you were advising a new warrior." She says, looking all wistful for a moment. She then gets distracted by hugging though and she wraps her arms around Esoka. "Damn, you were awesome out there." Reese then tries to hug Barric as well. She doesn't try for Thesarin hugs, maybe its that barbarian look.

Artorius has left the The Red Serpent.

Ezekiel the German Shepherd have been dismissed.

2 Sea Rover Bodyguards have been dismissed.

Once on land his guards move back to her side, she looks to Arcelia, "Lady Navegant." she was happy to see the woman and then she looks to Reese, "YOur Highness it is good to see you again, congradulations on the win." she doesn't move n ow stopping to talk to people but staying near as close to Harald as she can.

"He will always be terrible at losing." Alarissa quips, moving forward to wrap her arms around her brother with a wide smile on her face and squeezing as hard as she dares and even can, whispering something into his ear, looking up at him. "Next year, Thrax will get it from Grayson. They will not be allowed to garner it the second year. I intend to do this every year." She lets Barric loose and steps back to her spot beside Victus.

To whatever it is that Reigns is murmuring in his ear, Kael is furrowing his brows and nodding once in response. He is back to guiding her, taking care with his step and more particularly her own. With that the two are silently making their way down the coast and thereafter back up the path to Arx proper.

Oaken, a juvenile Oakhaven bloodhound, Marigold, a cheeky pygmy goat leave, following Reigna.

Echo, a juvenile Oakhaven bloodhound, Reigna leave, following Kael.

Samael smiles toward Alaric, "Perhaps he could invest some in a few deckhands to swab the deck of The Red Serpent." He's just now getting his appetite back after that smell.

The soft smile couldn't help but bloom further as Bianca stepped into Sophie's arms. "It has. I apologize for not writing. I found that I lost quite a sense of the passage of time during my sabbatical into studies." She leaned back, palms resting on the Mercy's shoulders a moment as she took her in. Head turned to offer that warm smile as well to Reese, a gracious bow of her head acknowledging her words though as Reese moved on to her embrace, Bianca returned to hers. "Seasickness still? I will look into finding something to prevent that in the future."

Esoka's eyes go rather wide, when the king starts talking to her. Alaric gets a bow deeper than any she's attempted yet. It's a touch stiff. Manners practiced so much they've become over-practiced. But given with all respect. "The jousting was more of a stretch for me than this, your majesty. I grew up on the rivers. I'm still getting used to horses. I hope you enjoyed it!"

Arcelia's blue eyes turn to Alaric from Titania and she does her best to offer him a curtsy, a bit of a wobble found in her posture as she works around her enlarged stomach. Her guard reaches out to steady her but she politely waves him off. "Your Majesty. It is nice to see you. I hope you have been doing well?"

"Your Highn." Thesarin again clasps a fist to his chest for Alaric, and again for Reese. "Princess

Barric accepts the hugs offered and returns them to his Alarissa and Reese, and once he can disengage he bows to his Alaric, "It is, alas, Majesty, a terrible failing of mine. At this rate I'm going to get a reputation." This brings a bright grin to his features, and a chuckle.

Reese smiles happily once again. "I should get going though, congrats again and wonderful event Princess Alarissa." She says and then starts to take off.

Bianca's concern only manages to somehow further expand Sophie's sense of familial affection. "Thank you, but I have already taken something for it. I now know better than to underestimate the effect of small boats." With Reese's arrival, Sophie's smile is amiable, a nod also offered. "Your Highness. You are well, I hope. I don't suppose I might ask a favor of you? Would you be so kind as to relay my congratulations to the Crownlands team for their victory? I fear I am not much longer for my feet."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Titania before departing.

Reese stops on her way out and heads over to Sophie "Oh, of course you can ask. I hope that I can help, Princess Sophie." She says and her tone is warm.

"Your Majesty." Thesarin again clasps a fist to his chest for Alaric, and again for Reese. "Princess. Thank you both." He gives a hint of a grin, just. "I did my part, but most of the praise should go to the rest."

A friendly clasp of Reese's arm is offered, along with that same smile. "Thank you," Sophie gratefully intones, indeed looking like she could use a nap. "Gods bless." Then, to Bianca, "Let us meet, soon. I have missed your company."

"You all looked very impressive out there. I suspect most of you haven't even been in a rowing race before, so that you came out to give it a try anyway is just as praiseworthy as the result," Alaric declares to Team Grayson. "It's that spirit of endavor that House Grayson prides itself on, after all. None greater!" he cheers with a fist in the air and a bright smile. He turns to grin at Samael. "I think that's sort of intentional, actually. A deck exists to be in a perpetual state of needing swabbed, to give sailors something to do I reckon."

Reese has a smile for Thersarin. She takes Sophie's offered arm. "You look exhausted. Is that favor? Do you need help getting back home, Your Highness?" She says, seemingly eager to be helpful.

A press of her hand to Vic's shoulder, a murmur, she's parting from his side to head toward what can be seen of Thrax's team. Approaching Harald, she offers a dip of her head to him, not attempting to hide a smile in the least in this moment. "I admit, likely not anywhere near the same excitement as I have heard you have had of late, but at least you don't come out scarred. Thank you, for rowing for the fealty Duc Grimhall."

Bianca nodded, taking a pace back to give Sophie a little breathing room. She fell quiet as she usually did, observing those about the docks though as Sophie mentioned an early departure she in turn stepped to the Mother Mercy's side. "Do you need any help back to the gate?" She murmured.

Titanialooks over curtsey to Alaric, "Your Majesty." she says to the king as a messenger comes over to her and she reads them a twitch comes to her lips and she looks to Harald, "My Duke, I must take this message, if you have time later I have something of importance I must speak with you about." she looks to Faelan and waits for Harald to reply before leaving.

Samael echoes Alaric, "None greater!" He then smiles at his comment, "I suppose that's true, Your Majesty. But judging from this race, I have a new respect for seafolk."

Reese seems to realize that she made a mistake and her cheeks warm with a pink hue. "I will be sure to tell them, Princess Sophie." She says. "I do need to go now, but if you need any help, Prince Barric would love to help escort your home." She says. Reese smiles toward the princess healer and then finally takes off for real.

Reese has left the The Red Serpent.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Titania before departing.

"Thank you, Your Highness," Sophie warmly repeats Once more, turning to Bianca, "If you wish to walk with me as long as suits you, I will not decline." An arm is offered to her cousin.

Samael has left the The Red Serpent.

Harald bends his back stiffly, to offer a short bow to Alarissa. "A loss. But not a bloody one, Highness," the old reaver rumbles. Titania is given a shirt nod and the brief words, "So be it," in parting.

Malesh is overheard praising Barric.

Malesh is overheard praising Esoka.

Malesh is overheard praising Esoka.

Bianca couldn't help the hint of a smirk as Reese mentioned Barric and her pale eyes again turned to Sophie, "It would be my pleasure." And she extended her arm to her cousin. "I fear I may have just stolen the privilege of your escort, though."

Bianca leaves, following Sophie.

Faelan gets himself over to his things, and cleaning his feet of sand gets them in his boots, as well as a tunic on before he departs himself, probably off to go harass a healer. He will wave farewel to others and then be on his way.

2 Kennex corsairs, 3 Iron Guardsmen leave, following Titania.

"Good evening Lady Kennex. Thank you as well." Alarissa offers to Titania before falling in beside Harald to look over the assemblage and the festivities. "We will get them next year." She assures him. "Coud have been worse. Could have been Redrain" She points out to the Grim Duke. Faelan waves and she dips her head in thanks to him as well.

Alaric has some more well-wishers so after giving the Grayson team one last nod of approval he turns to more people coming up to say hello. "Countess Arcelia, lovely to see you! I've heard your project is finally completed, you must be very proud. It shouldn't be too long before now pilgrims that have made the whole trip begin to tell tales of the journey, no? Oh, and you'll be rather excited to hear that I've begun doing some paintings of my own. I should come to you for a few more lessons when you've got the time." He turns to smile regally at Titania. "Lady Titania, always a pleasure." He nods again to Samael. "Sea life is a great developer of toughness."

Harald grunts sharply to Alarissa's quip of Redrain, a curt farewell to Faelan as the younger warrior takes his leave.

Esoka sticks around for a little celebrating, but she's //tired// after all that rowing. She'll be on her way to find a place to rest on her laurels, and her muscles, soon enough.

Thesarin clasps his hand on Esoka's shoulder one more time before she goes. "Not worth another twist on your arms, maybe, but you did good. I'm proud of you,

Victus has left the The Red Serpent.

Esoka catches Thesarin's shoulder in parting, sharing a warm grin with him. "Ever for the greenwood," she says simply, before taking her leave.
