Willen arrives, following Lou.

Lou enters into the Queensrest Inn and immediately give pause when the staff appear to beam at her out of nowhere. She looks around her to make sure it's not someone behind her, eyeing Karadoc a moment as he steps in behind her. She gives a nod to herself, reassured that clearly they weren't all that happy to see her, and then further makes her way into the room.

{027Eurusi. This evening, the Queensrest has been overrun by those within the city who know the language with varying degree of success. Some fledgeling and still mastering to even greet that would make any native speaker cringe. Some more fluent, who have been exposed either because it's where they hail from or because they've been taught such in depth by those who are. Regardless, the oddities that is anyone who knows something beyond Arvani - Because that is not common a thing either - have gathered. Little grouping here and there, socializing, practicing, learning better or polishing.

Alarissa is moving through the crush toward Orazio's table by the not burning fire and easing down, a faint smile on her otherwise somber self. She stands by the table before speaking up. "So many of us have learned another tongue, and rarely, do we find another with which to practice. To better learn, someone who can better shape up the accents we undoubtedly have and ensure that should we ever actually meet someone not from these shores and has not already been here for some time, that we do not introduce ourselves as a dolphin." A pause. "Or a mighty mighty sea rooster. So, join, be merry, the drinks are on Thrax this night and myself. Those who wish to learn and do not yet have sides, seek out someone willing and those who are well versed, please. Give the rest of us a little more polish?"

Faruq ambles into the Queensrest Inn and makes a bee line for the bar. Bee's don't exactly go straight through so he wanders around examining the decorations, the furniture, the very ambiance! He does end up at the bar though and settles in. Leaning his back against the bar, Faruq takes in all the people with a smile but rum. Rum commands his attention when it arrives. At least long enough to get a few swallows down to wet his whistle.

Bethany comes in just about on time (maybe a tiny bit late). The thick silk damask of her dress whispers softly with her footsteps as she passes into the crowded room. She takes her time looking around, deciding where to go next.

Karadoc shrugs his shoulders high at the Grayson Princess (that's Lou), blue eyes dreamy, offering her a relaxed smile that's all tilted. He's clearly only here to partake of some fine Crownlands spirits while Thrax's High Princess Consort is suddenly announcing that they're footing the bill. "How wondrously kind of the ocean-faring cocks -- er, sea roosters to see to that a visitor's all set up with a drink or five. Although, you know, I won't even pretend that I know the language all of you are gathering for. Just here for giggles and gin."

Faruq has joined the Bar.

Alarissa has joined the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Eurusi. It is a language that Lou has purposefully mangled for all the years she's been married to her Eurusi husband. Now that she's shrugged off the odd behavior of the staff, clearly certain it was Karadoc, a mischievous smile comes to her lips. "Or, if you want to learn how to mangle the language or speak it's curses, I'm the girl for you. Goodness knows Mason gives me enough reason to yell at him in Eurusi." She waves over at Alarissa as she goes to find a place among the tables. "Or, you know, if you want to learn a bit of it, I can give you some more practical, boring basics," she offers.

Rosalie slips into the inn without any notice by the staff, secure in her relative unimportance to the Queensrest. She does, however, make a beeline for Alarissa, offering fleeting smiles and waves to those she knows along the way. Stepping up to the High Princess' side, she offers a quick grin up to her liege, hands folding demurely in front of her. Waiting through the greeting, looking up to Alarissa as she speaks, and only once she's through does Rosalie lean in and up to murmur something quietly to her. When she straightens, she offers a smile towards the others gathered and takes a seat.

Sasha makes her way into the Queensrest barefoot and with a smile curling her lips. And soon she is taking a seat at one of the tables as she says "I am quite excited to practice." Her hands smoothing over the seasilk of her divinely made gown and soon order tea from one of the servers before she decides to switch over to Eurusi.

Sasha has joined the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Faruq has left the Bar.

The Queensrest Inn doesn't typically cater to the likes of Lorna Redvale, the commoner steward who serves House Stonewood. She follows a pair of nobles into the establishment and does her best to try and blend, though in this particular crowd, that might be rather difficult. One of these things is not like the others.

As people seem to be gathering at the other table, Faruq pushes off from the bar and ambles in that direction. A dip of his chin follows and that dip towards his chest turns into a deep bow. Two fingertips stroke along his bald head to draw his hat off with a flourish: "I have not yet had the pleasure to be formally introduced to anyone here it seems. Unfortunate that, but something easily remedied hmm?" He smiles broadly to everyone at the table: "If it is not a bother, might I join you fine distinguished individuals? I have come to... hmm... brush up. I don't use the language as much as I used to."

Bethany approaches the table by the fire, and takes the time to curtsy to Alarissa before settling in.

Bethany has joined the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Auda Auda had arrived perfectly on time, and then.. debated with herself for quite a while outside. She doesn't know the language -at all-, but.. More languages seem like something she's going to need in the future. Why not start with one that Princess Alarissa is sponsoring? Finally, Auda makes her way inside dressed in stormy grey linens. She doesn't look all that out of place any more! It's a miraculous thing, but she's still heading to the bar for some liquid courage before even looking around to see if she knew anyone.

Whatever Rosalie murmurs, Alarissa reaches over to press a hand gently to the Redtyde's arm and murmur back, that somber smile. But then she's looking around the room, letting everyone get further settled, a lift of a brow for karadoc. "You are welcome to remain and puzzle out what we're saying. Sea rooster and all. There will be other nights and other languages to learn nd practice, to share." Bethaney's curtsy and smiled to, a dip of her head then the same to Faruq.

Lou has joined the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Faruq has joined the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Alarissa says in Eurusi, "You are more than welcome, all are welcome to join us. We can all polish up our words as we go."

Sasha offers a warm smile to Faruq as she says something in Eurusi with a bright smile

Sasha says in Eurusi, "I not mind you joining if not one else does. I not think we have met. I am Marquessa Sasha Sanna."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Karadoc before departing.

Benvolio, a beleaguered valet arrives, delivering a message to Karadoc before departing.

Lou gives Karadoc an amused look at whatever he says at the table. She leans into the others and speaks in her husband's native language.

Lou says in Eurusi, "It just seems to me like he'd be missing out on some of the fun words I could teach him."

Faruq draws out a chair at the table with the toe of one booted foot and then settles into it at the invitation: "My thanks. I am Lord Faruq Seraceni. Sword of Ischia." He introduces himself to everyone. Sasha's comment gets a brilliant smile from the man and he sets his bottle of rum down on the table. The glass follows after another swallow so that it can be refilled: "I am somewhat.." A chuckle: "Excuse me." Then he switches to Eurusi.

Faruq says in Eurusi, "I am somewhat surprised that so many know the language already. It has spread further than I would have thought. Ischia is close enough that we receive quite a few Eurusi pirates and merchants."

Lorna approaches the table nearest the fireplace and offers up a somewhat shy smile before she makes an attempt at broken Eurusi, as if to prove that she belonged to the group in question.

Lorna says in Eurusi, "Please excuse. Can I joining you?"

Auda gathers up her glass of rum, and then trails after Lorna. Standing near enough her to just quietly use the invitation for herself, as well. "I don't speak a word, but I'd like to learn..?" Hopeful, but definitely uncertain.

Bethany asks a waitress for a glass of wine. In Arvani. They have a brief discussion about vintage before the waitress heads off to get the wine.

Lou looks over at Faruq and addresses his comment.

Sasha can't help but happen to overhear Auda and kindly offers "I could give you lessons if you wish Miss. I know many tongues in truth." She then looks back to Faruq and asks something in Eurusi

Lou says in Eurusi, "My husband is Masun'al'ajionij, from the Dune Kingdom of Ahj'on. We met when he came racing off the side of a cliff one day and literally fell into my lap. It only made sense we get married after that."

Sasha says in Eurusi, "Is that so Lord Faruq? Might you have any interesting tales of it?" She then looks to Lou as she inquires "He literally fell into your lap? I don't think I ever asked you to tell me that story before and now I regret not inquiring sooner."

Benvolio, a beleaguered valet arrives, delivering a message to Karadoc before departing.

Faruq tilts his rum back and forth in his glass to make little waves within it then takes another drink, nodding in response to Lou's comment, a smile growing on his dark complexion. Sasha's words also get his attention and he speaks to both of them in affable tones.

Alarissa says in Eurusi, ""There are some unfamiliar faces." Strangers who come. Up to the table are invited to join them and Alarissa adjusts her tea cup on it's saucer. "I think Princess Lou has the list of it, perhaps we should introduce ourselves? Since Is suspect we will get to know one another better. Princess Consort Alarissa Thrax, formerly of Grayson and once upon a time, even a Valardin." She looks around to the rest of the people."

Lorna has joined the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Faruq says in Eurusi, "I have never been to the Dune Kingdoms myself, for which I am grateful. Everything I have heard of the land speaks of it's mystery, and it's dangers. I am certain you would know more than I, highness." He dips his chin in a bow to Lou then addresses Sasha: "Most of my encounters with Eurusi have been... unpleasant. I do not deal in trade with other lands or kingdoms. Their pirates can be quite tenacious however. House Seraceni has gone to war with several rather vicious Eurusi pirate lords over the centuries. I like to think they know us and respect us, if not fear us.""

Auda has joined the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Auda finally takes a seat near Sasha with a smile, nodding to the woman. "I'd like that, very much." For now? She's actively listening to the conversations, even if she can't understand much of it. She's paying attention to the words, though, and to syllables and connotations. Listening was one of the best ways to learn, after all.

Lou says in Eurusi, "Lou Grayson, as Alarissa mentioned. Pathfinder of the Explorers, though I'm still learning other languages that will help me survive in this world without being kidnapped again." She looks to Faruq and shakes her head, "From everything I've heard about them, you don't want to go there. Their caste system is horrible and they openly practice slavery."

Lorna has her chosen vocation to thank for her profound patience; standing by in silent attendance of nobles is literally her job, so there's no trouble in waiting for acknowledgement for however long it may take to arrive. When Alarissa invites her (and Auda) to join the table, Lorna respectfully nods her head and takes an available seat.

Bethany gives all present a pleasant, if understated smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes. Her hands automatically smooth her skirts.

Rosalie says, "Lady. Rosalie Redtyde." Rosalie has been largely silent this whole time, just watching carefully as the others talk, sharp eyes watching mouths forming words and watching hand motions and facial expressions for cues otherwise. Its clear that she's still very much a fledgling in the language. More watching than speaking. But she struggled through her name gamely enough, and smiles at the end of it."

Bethany says in Eurusi, "I'm Bethany Mercier."

Rosalie smiles around the table, even offering a small wave to Lorna.

Lou nods to Lorna, motioning to a chair, only just realizing someone did not respond to her. She speaks in Arvani saying, "Please have a seat!" The Arvani is only brief though.

Faruq says in Eurusi, "It is the Magisters that concern me the most. Once we have that problem solved we can decide what to do next, if anything at all."

Karadoc has left the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Lorna says in Eurusi, "Thank you, Princess Thrax... and people. My named Lorna. I am... come from Stone-Tree house."

Faruq bows his head in a nod of greeting to Rosalie and Lorna, then to Bethany as well. Auda gets a lift of his glass as he has met her it seems! Someone he knows! His smile grows brighter. Relaxing into his chair he sprawls a bit and settles in to converse in a language he has known since childhood but, he is still rusty enough that his pronunciation isn't altogether perfect. The lycene accent does make things interesting too.

Faruq says in Eurusi, "It is a pleasure and an honor to meet you Lady Rosalie, and you as well Mistress Mercier." No 'messere when using a different language! Attention fixes on Alarissa and he tips his hat into another bow: "An honor, truly, Highness. I have heard much of the work you have done about the Thrall issue. I am certain many lives are better for the work you do. Countless.""

Alarissa says in Eurusi, "Would that I could do more, and far more swiftly. As of now, two thousand children, most of them very young, have been either return to familiar family or kept where they were to remain with their families still working debt, but at least are free and can grow up with them. And learn a skill and profession. The future productive members fo the compact. But in truth, a great deal of this is to be laid at the feet of my husband. Much more is attributed to me than really can be." Alarissa dips her head. "Which kingdom were you from Lord Faruq?""

Scribble, a Delicate Social Butterfly arrives, following Delilah.

Lou nods to the others as they've introduced themselves, and then turns her attention back to Faruq, giving him a considering look. She offers Sasha a warm smile, and says a few things in Eurusi to her.

Rosalie says in Eurusi, "Pleased... me.. lord." Rosalie manages to garble out after a few false tries. She remains focused on the people speaking, her lips moving silently to follow the shapes they make. Eyes darting from person to person as she watches the conversation unfold. At one point, she scrambles for her satchel, pulling out a blank journal and a pretty pink crystal inkpot with a swanfeather quill. Opening the journal, she dips the quill into ink and starts watching everyone speak again, quickly scratching out things here and there as she begins to recognize basic, similar words."

Lou says in Eurusi, "Lady Sasha - wasn't there something more we needed to talk about? I feel like there was, but I may have missed setting up a time to chat with you. If there /is/ please do not hesitate to reach out and we can meet - and speak in Arvani." She grins at the latter"

Rosalie people-watches with a VENGEANCE, even going so far as to retrieve a blank journal and a quill and inkpot from her satchel so she can scribe down words as she starts to pick them up.

"Auda." Offered into the conversation where people are introducing themselves, but without anything else. She doesn't have titles, after all, and so at least it makes her introduction easy! She's still focused on watching and listening, just like Rosalie! Not scribing, though.

Sasha offers kindly to Auda "We can discuss when to plan them after the discussion if you like." She then switches back to Eurusi, though quietly listening. She offers a nod back to Lou, soon speaking

Faruq says in Eurusi, "I am not Eurusi, highness. I was born and raised in Ischia." He clarifies to Alarissa: "It is a language I have learned the curse words of first, as is so often the case but we have learned the tactical advantages to being able to understand the enemy. As children we learn the language so that we can overhear and relay information. Children are often overlooked hmm?"

Sasha says in Eurusi, "There was indeed I was hoping that I could convince you to come with me upon a trip to the Isle of Storms for something I seek. I feel that having someone from the Society of Explorers would be quite vital for my landing party."

Lou immediately brightens at Sasha.

Lou says in Eurusi, "Yes! Absolutely!"

The hour isn't so late that Delilah slipping in might be a cause for concern. Her light springweight cloak does a fine job of covering her in a veil of anonymity, one she shuns gladly enough the moment she can be certain the cooler confines of the Queensrest will not irritate her sensibilities. She dusts off her fingerless gloves and slips in the deeper, looking about. Oh. Eurusi, Eurusi everywhere and not a word to... She inclines her head in greeting.

Sasha squees in delight at Lou's response, almost bouncing in her chair.

Sasha says in Eurusi, "I am very glad for that. I still have to speak with two others and hope them will come along. All the others have already confirmed that they will travel with me. We could meet later and discuss it more in detail if you wish."

Lorna says in Eurusi, "Greetings, Lady Rosalie." The young noblewoman was one of the few folks present that Lorna actually recognized. The Stonewood steward smiles dimly for a few moments before lapsing back into a studious silence. She was still a novice with the Eurusi tongue, but seemed to benefit greatly from simply listening to more adept speakers converse with one another. She echoes one of the new words she's overheard quietly. "...absolutely."

Alarissa says in Eurusi, ""That was why, Lord Faruq, I first started learning Nox'Alfar. So that Valardin would not misstep should we find ourselves in heady rooms with those to whom it is their milk tongue, nor be caught unawares. From here, it has sprung to more languages. For the same purpose. So that I may stand beside his grace and give him every advantage that can be offered. The demure wife, after all, is never suspected.""

Lou says in Eurusi, "Indeed, that would be quite lovely, Lady Sasha." Lou probably looks just as pleased as Sasha does at the moment. "Truth is that I had been wanting to go the Island since Alarissa dug up the research on the lantern. Any place full of history is a place I'd love to explore." She looks over at Delilah and wiggles fingers at her."

Bethany sips her wine and listens to the conversations playing out around her.

Delilah has joined the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Faruq lifts his glass of rum in greetings to Delilah, favoring her with a bright smile that reaches his dark eyes to make them shine a moment. Attention shifting back to Alarissa, Faruq nods and begins speaking in Eurusi some more. He does glance over towards Sasha, Auda, Lorna and Lou as well, paying attention but not interrupting their conversation. The mention of islands, storms, magical things... yes, interest piqued.

Faruq says in Eurusi, "I've thought about learning other languages as well but I am certain my brain will leak out my ears if I try." He chuckles wryly amused: "I am not the smartest of men, and what wits I have are fully spent on sailing, fighting, and a few other unmentionable things in polite company."

Auda says, ""Lord, Lady." Quietly spoken, some of the easiest to pick out of the conversation. "I'd like that very much," is spoken in Arvani, of course, as Auda smiles to Sasha before and refocusing her attention on the speakers again."

Sasha says in Eurusi, "Princess Katarina already said she would lend a lantern for the vessel. And I know that Dayne is coming with, as is Scout Rowenova and Vala Khanne." She looks to Faruq and offers "Depending upon which tongue you are wishing to learn, I may be able to offer lessons. Some are much harder to learn then others though. I shall warn."

Several neat steps and Delilah closes on the table of the speakers, inclining her head. "Princess Alarissa, Pathfinder Lou. Marquessa Sasha. Let's simplify this," she adds, the procession of words halting there with a rueful smile. "Good evening to everyone. I hope I'm not too late to learn something?" She casts a friendly smile towards Bethany, and if the cast of their features holds a trace of similarity, it's probably not accidental favour of the light. A seat taken where it's the only free point lets her steal in, though she goes quiet not long after. The way she'll focus on the speakers, let it be plainly said she isn't fluent. Period.

Alarissa says in Eurusi, "I have faith Lord Faruq, that if you put your mind to it, you can do it. I managed." She points out with that somber smile still. "Now, I promise a game. A way to wind something lovely, and perhaps practice better the writer aspect of the language." Delilah comes and she dips her head. "Arrange the alphabet the fastest." She looks to see who all is interested."

Lou says in Eurusi, "My understanding is that the lantern is no longer needed to go to the Island of Storms, that we can travel it back and forth at will now." She turns to Alarissa, "I'm game to try.""

Sasha says in Eurusi, "I want to play!" Sasha loves a chance to pratice her writing of languages! As Delilah comes it she says "It is lovely to see you Lady Delilah, I don't think you are too late. Please come and sit with us." She asks Lou "Oh? Well it can't hurt to have it just in case. Better to be overprepared than under.""

A game? Lorna's interest is piqued, according to her briefly lifted brows, but as it's explained to do with reading the Eurusi alphabet, the Stonewood steward can't help but look a little bit daunted.

Rosalie says in Eurusi, "Game," Rosalie mimics Lou with a brief grin, nodding to Alarissa. She looks to Sasha, getting up and moving over to lean in and whisper something to the Marquessa. Likely breaking out of her mangled Eurusi to make herself clearly understood. Once that's done, she waits of ra reply before heading back to her seat."

Lorna says in Eurusi, "I try."

Faruq says in Eurusi, "From what I have heard that even with it being opened, there has been loss of life recently during travel to that island? Sounds like a risky venture no matter how prepared one is."

Lou gives a nod in Faruq's direction, and offers further conversation.

Lou says in Eurusi, "Truthfully, an exploratory expedition has it's dangers. That's why I make sure the explorers understand that they have to think out of the box, sometimes, to keep safe."

Auda doesn't really understand much of what's going on, but at least she doesn't look bored! She's reading lips and just trying to focus on sounds and things.

Faruq checked intellect + linguistics at difficulty 7, rolling 11 higher.

Sasha checked intellect + linguistics at difficulty 7, rolling 47 higher.

Lou checked intellect + linguistics at difficulty 7, rolling 13 higher.

Bethany gives Delilah a smile when she sits down nearby. There's warmth there, and amiability, but it never quite touches her steel blue eyes. She's game to try the... game. In fact, this is probably the most interest that she's shown yet.

Bethany checked intellect + linguistics at difficulty 7, rolling 34 higher.

Alarissa's bringing out small wooden tiles, all the alphabet of the Eurusi language, face down. A handful of different sets. Enough for all who want to try. "The first who can successfully assemble the alphabet and properly, wins the item that I have brought with me. Which, is not really related to any of this, but I thought that I needed to smile a little and my brother might agree were he here." This is Erusi. But she stands, making sure everyone has some and looks around. 'On the count of three... start."
R"One"

'Two"

"Three!"

Lorna checked intellect + linguistics at difficulty 7, rolling 14 higher.

Rosalie checked intellect + linguistics at difficulty 15, rolling 29 higher.

Rosalie checked intellect + linguistics at difficulty 7, rolling 54 higher.

Auda is watching the tiles intently now, studying the letters even if they aren't lined up right! Learning their shapes is still important, and she's trying to catch every little thing that she can.

Faruq is distracted by his drink when it comes time to arrange the alphabet together. He also doesn't have the greatest facility with the /written/ language at all. It takes him longer than everyone else to arrange the alphabet into the proper order. The rum doesn't help. It's important to him. That rum. The glass must remain full. He makes mistakes and corrects. Makes other mistakes. There's a lot of mistakes. By the time he finally gets everything good he is very much in last place.

Sasha begins to pour all of her focus upon her parchment and seems to be writing rather quickly given how fast the quill is fluttering in the air. A smile curling her lips as she seems quite fond of writing it out.

Rosalie's eyes dart here and there, hands flashing out as she turns tiles and starts putting them in order. She doesn't wait to assemble it all at once, instead adding to the growing alphabet as soon as she has a tile flipped and translated. For all that she's a novice of the spoken tongue, its clear that her written skills, or perhaps just her reasoning skills and quick hands, are quite capable. When she's finished, however, she sits back with a satisfied smile and a nod.

Lou takes some time to work on the alphabet game, carefully writing things down. While she's somewhat fluent in speaking, paperwork is a WHOLE other ballgame.

Bethany's long fingers are quick and dexterous as she plucks tiles out of the pile one by one. She seems to know exactly what she's looking for and where it goes.

It's fairly safe to say that Lorna has only recently discovered the Eurusi alphabet symbols... in fact, tonight might even be the first time that she's literally seen them. So, understandably, it takes her a fair bit of time to sort the symbols out, but she eventually accomplishes the task.

Leaning over, Rosalie smiles at Lorna and murmurs softly to her before straightening and looking back around the table.

Delilah's gaze flashes over the mixture of letters and shapes. It does, however, happen that while the others are moving plaques and symbols around, she receives a scroll from the elderly chap following her around. Her expression changes slightly as she takes the contents in, distracted from the other task. "Pardon me, this is going to require my attention," she says softly, apologetic smiles to the others. "I wish you well in your studies."

Delilah has left the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Scribble, a Delicate Social Butterfly leaves, following Delilah.

Alarissa's observing, watching, a dip of her head - she alleyways does that - to Delilah as her friend retreats and when everyones done, Alarissa smiles. Wider this time. "Rosalie completed first, then my beloved fainting goat-" her spirits must be rising just a bit. "Then Bethany." Hands gently clap for all three. "And then there rest of you, the written language is much harder than the verbal. It just is. Some languages don't even have a written variant." She shakes her head. "And thus, prizes. You didn't come for the prizes, but I have some none the less." And a velvet bag is put before Rosalie and the Eursi word for Duskstone is offered up. For Sasha, a voucher for bolts of Aeterna. Last, for Bethany, a velvet bag and some metal that speaks to luxury is placed before her. "It brings me delight to see that everyone managed as well as they did. I know I wouldn't have"

Auda smiles bright at Rosalie, clapping for the victory, and then again as each other contestant finishes the puzzle. Auda actually looks a bit stunned at the prizes, eyeing them with a bit of disbelief before just sipping her rum to give herself a moment.

Sasha squees in delight as she is given the Aeterna voucher, hugging it to her chest as she says something in Eurusi.

Sasha says in Eurusi, "And I thought this was just a game for fun! Thank you Princess Alarissa!"

Rosalie blinks at the prize she's received, then clutches it to herself with a bright smile, "Thank you, Your Highness!" She even breaks the Eurusi just so she can make herself clear. "This is so going onto my wedding ring... somehow..." Giggling, she tucks the precious gem carefully away and beams a smile, "That was fun! Can we do another just for the fun of it?"

Faruq laughs at his coming in last place, it's a booming boisterous sound that lights up his face with a wide ear to ear smile. Another drink of his rum follows then he sets the glass down. His deep rich voice clearly carries his enjoyment at the gathering when he speaks next.

Lorna claps politely for the winners of the impromptu contest and says in Arvani, "Well done. What is the word for... congratulations, in Eurusi?"

Faruq says in Eurusi, "I came to the right place if I wanted to brush up on my Eurusi. I don't think I've even looked at written Eurusi in years."

Bethany thanks Alarissa when she's given the bag. She doesn't look into it right away, only tucks it into her pocket.

Faruq leans over to tell Lorna the proper word, to answer the question she asked.

"It makes thing s little more fun. Though I smile that you all came of your own desire to better yourself instead of bribery. This won't happen at all of them, but I thought perhaps this might be enjoyed." Alarissa eases back down into the seat. "How did you all come to learn it? Besides Faruq and myself."

Sasha smiles happily as she says "Princess Katarina taught it to me when I asked her to. I thought it sounded so interesting when spoken and I have always been a little obsessed with Languages in truth."

Auda somehow still seems entertained and content, despite not being able to understand most of what's going on. Just being around people, maybe, and working at the language like one might work at a knot.

"Honestly? I started learning the elven dialects because my uncle Fredrik is learning the shav'arvani languages. I thought it best we not overlap, so I started seeking out the elven tongues. Then my project for the Scholars demanded I learn even -more-, so I picked up a few more. And I am now learning Eurusi in exchange for teaching one of the elven dialects!" Rosalie offers with a bright smile, giggling softly. "And now I have so much fun with it, I want to learn more of them! I may have a problem..."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Rosalie before departing.

Bethany says in Eurusi, "Eurusi is a trade language," Bethany offers, between sips of wine. "It helps to speak it well, especially given how important haggling is Eurusi merchants."

Alarissa says in Eurusi, ""Victus, Fatima, Abbas, Katarina, mason. It seemed prudent to learn it at the time, as I was joining a household that spoke it to a degree. Better to converse in a crowded room if we did not want our words understood" Alarissa agree's. "Not one of my more used ones.""

Lorna stands slowly and moves to step away from the table, bowing respectfully to the small assembly of scholars. "Thank you for time and talking," she offers in broken Eurusi before making her way out.

Auda glances around, settling back into her chair a bit. Her rum is brought up for a sip again, too. The ex-streetchild savouring it.

Lorna has left the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

Lou says in Eurusi, "It's also a good way to yell at someone when they accidentally lose an eye to a fire demon." Yeah, she said that, and she smirks as she does. "My husband," she explaoins."

Someone gives Bethany a note, and she looks it over and sighs. "Already? Alright. Tell her I'll be there soon." And then she makes her apologies and goes.

Bethany has left the Orazio's Table Nearest the Fire.

With the written portion done, Rosalie goes back to scribing into her journal as she watches the rest of them talk amongst themselves. Catching words here and there to add to the growing list in front of her.

And, on that note, Lou rises from the table. "I think I've scared the messes with enough explorer talk for the evening. I need to be getting back to the girls." This is said with a mischievous gleam.

Faruq says in Eurusi, "I would be interested in joining your society sometime I think, Highness. It sounds most intriguing but I do not know if I will have the time."

Faruq smiles: "It was an honor and a pleasure to meet you all."

"OH! I might be interested in joining myself! The Explorers Society, right?" Rosalie responds with a bright grin.

Lou glances over at Rosalie and nods her head a bit. "Indeed. I'm the Pathfinder. Alarissa is a First Seeker. Send in a petition if you are ready to join and we'll get someone to test you."
