Igniseri Dinner - Family Only

Quenia Igniseri is hosting a Family Dinner for Family Only. Spouses may attend but outside guests are discouraged for this particular event. This is a chance for all Igniseri family members to catch up with each other, and discover what's going on in each other's lives, and to ask for help -- should help be needed -- for various projects they might need help with. (OOC: This is being held on Friday rather than our Typical Thursday in case people want to go to Kataryna's winter festival on Thursday.)

Somewhat late, Quenia makes her way into the Great Hall. "Sorry for being late. I was getting caught up with some work." Work, work, work, that's what Quenia's been doing most days. Practically throwing herself at it and leaving very little time for anything else. Today's mood, she appears to be ambivalent - uncertain where her emotions should be quite yet since the execution. It might come off more as stoic and neutral.

"There was only the one misadventure with arrow fire, fortunately." Ariella reaches down to her neck and pulls a necklace out from her gown. There's a stained arrowhead hanging from it. "Made myself a reminder to always look behind me, even when my men are at my back." When Quenia comes in Ariella sits up just a little straighter and offers the Marquessa a nod. "Quenie. We were afraid to start eating without you because everyone was afraid we'd eat your favorite, but I kept trying to tell them 'we have plenty of plain, unbuttered boiled turnips to go around'." Avaline gets a grin. "I'm packed with talent."

Leena reluctantly takes the cup, pouting and peering in it to make sure it's not a trick. "No, I'm actually steering clear of things marriage for right now. That's not your excuse though, shouldn't you be making children to annoy me by now?" Looking over to Ariella she offers "It's a diagram in three dimensions, connecting the different peices together in a three-dimensional grid array that references different pieces". Pausing to wave to her sister "Hello sister"

Avaline tries to behave. When Quenia enters, she grins and hops up to hug her. "I was being very good, the whole time, I swear."

Luis nods to the others, "Yep, work, the usual response when one is late," Luis shares with the others and laughs, but there's no hostility in his tone, just a good natured sort of laugh at the situation. "Well join us, and enjoy some of this food and the like," Luis replies, slowly moving back towards the table. "And well there you go, speaking all that magical stuff about boats and engine rearing, or whatever it is that you call it..." Luis mumbles, but chuckles, "We're Igniseri, none of us is ever good, aside from being good at getting into trouble. Wear it with pride, cousin, or married cousin, however that works."

Quenia had been watching where she was going, but when she hears Leena's voice she looks up and maybe, just maybe, a small smile cracks through her features. Just enough. "Leena," she greets, nodding her head a bit. "It's good to see you at dinner. I wasn't certain if you'd be holed up in your workshop working on another invention or not." She tells her, then she's being hugged by Avaline, and looks somewhat surprised by this development. She returns the hug, and offers a kiss on the cheek before stepping back. "You're looking well too, Avaline," she remarks. She then walks over to the table, and nods to Luis. "So, we gained 25 additional farms, and you and Ariella, and Duke Aiden were able to recruit 100 infantry and 50 calvary from our efforts in Granato. That's a good step to rebuilding our lost military."

Avaline is cousin, right, she did not marry in like that Inquisitor Ennettia, Luis recalls that now, his face turning sour a moment before he chews on food and drinks more wine, "But yes, it has been a good series of montsh for Igniseri, our armies swell, not where they were, but getting there, and our coffersn and lands thrive. So we should see more allowances handed out to the dashing, noble, and wonderfully rugged Voice, no?" Luis casually remarks, lofting a brow, while looking to the others, daring them to say otherwise.

Luis has left the cozy seating by a stone fireplace.

Leana, an Igniseri Guard have been dismissed.

Tamsin have been dismissed.

Leena points to Luis "I've kicked Luis in the shin, sister-dearest. He has another shin to kick if you would like to complete the set? You do know how I love symmetry. And I'm sure he deserves it for something he'll do in the future." She steps over to give her sister a warm hug and pulls up a seat for herself.

"I wasn't trying to be good at all," assures Ariella, pulling her captain's hat back. She glances around, "Zeb's not goin to show up? Is he ashamed that a drunk girl beat him? I don't blame him. I'd be ashamed if I beat me." Quenia's news gets a nod from Ariella. "I'm glad Luis and Duke Aiden were able to so capably recruit. I'm not sure how much help I was. The first group of men I talked to about joining up had two ex, uh, friends of mine, and that lead to squabbles and then I may have called some people some hurtful names and... it wasn't helpful." -5 on her roll, folks. Tragic. "I'll focus more on my strong suit next time. Sailing. And stabbing people. Uh. I might have stabbed someone."

Quenia has joined the cozy seating by a stone fireplace.

"Eat, eat," Quenia does finally manage once she extracts herself. And, she does sit, but not at the table -- at the cozy chairs by the fireplace, one of her newest acquisitions for the house. She quirks her brow at Luis. "Perhaps, in time. We're just getting back to where we were before the inflation after the war, and things crashed." She looks back at Leena and gives her a grateful smile. "Luis has been doing good work for the house, so I think I shall spare his shins for now." Ariella then gets a rather curious look when she starts talking about her efforts. "Pah. I'm sure you did just fine. I mean, it's not like you turned traitor or anything. So, any effort is good effort as far as I'm concerned." She then notes she's sitting close to Ariella and nods to her as well.

Avaline selects one of the tiny meat tarts and looks at it a bit askance before she shoves it in her mouth. "Ooo, yum!" she says, but not while her mouth is full, that would be pour manners. She also selects a glass and casually pours some of the whiskey from the bottle into the glass.

Quenia quirks a brow lightly at Avaline. "Come join us by the fire," she offers. The servant bring a glass of wine and a plate of food over to Quenia once she's settled. "I think these chairs are my new favorite place to be." She glances between Ariella and Avaline. "So, tell me, what have you two been up to of late? This dinner was meant to be a time to catch up and less a dine and dash," she remarks, somewhat amused.

Ariella grabs a handful of meat tarts and pops 'em in her mouth one at a time. "I applied for a letter of marque. My men have been getting restless spending so much time on the land. So assuming the admiral sees fit to grant one to us, we'll be making sorties out just to prowl the waters beyond the Bay of Granato." She pops a few more tarts and takes time before swallowing, then, "And of course you know I joined the Champions. One and one so far. Not bad!"

Avaline grins and takes a seat by the fire. "I have been settling in, trying to get back into the pace of the city. So far it's going well, and I even managed to visit with Echo! I haven't seen my other siblings yet since I've been back, so hopefully we will have a get together again soon."

Avaline has joined the cozy seating by a stone fireplace.

Quenia grins at Ariella. "Indeed, I did know you joined the champions. And good to hear about the letter of marque. I'm sure Prince Talen will have you working the coastline in no time." She nods over at Avaline. "Astraea and Amarantha are often very busy. And, I know Apollis might be busy with some Mirrorguard stuff. We joined on the same night."
