And because I always seem to write my journals as a sort of addendum to my weeks end - it has been a relatively dry and boring week. I'm not going to bother myself by trying to make my life seem exciting or engaging, I like the plain and simple pace of my life.

I've also found myself actually bothering to learn about Jacali's brews. I don't mean that to be rude - it's just I'm not learned in them so I figured it wouldn't be worth it if I bothered to learn anything about them. I've found that instead learning about the flavours helps me serve them better.

I met a Lord that seems like one of the decent folks this day. He was able to actually enjoy life without seeming so incredibly stuck up that I instantly felt I couldn't even talk to, nevermind relate to him. Decent person. I'll keep my eye on them.

Now one thing I will give all those silks some proper praises for - they do have all the best trainers and training. If you want to learn something, even if it's down and dirty, a silk probably knows all about it. Probably just for the sake of knowing about it...

On the plus side however - all the folks talking means that I do get to hear a lot. Sliks do love to talk - and they end up talking about absolutely anyone and anything. It's like they can't help themselves when they're trying to do anything. They just talk, and talk, and talk.

I don't mind it when folks come into the shop, but I'll tell you that I do absolutely hate it when folks come into the shop to talk or natter rather than actually buy something. I hate talking as a general rule, and all the senseless nattering just makes me want to put a rusty nail up my nose.

I think I've got the design down now. It's going to be like my old dagger, a little longer, a little heavier. That way it can stand up to actually dragging another blade away. I've got my own personal defense to think about, you know?

I've been wondering what to get her as a gift. I'm not a silk, so I'm not rich - but I know that doesn't matter too much. But when you think of it, everyone goes out and buys all these immensely expensive gifts - I can't afford that sort of thing. I'm not a crafter, or a merchant. Will have to figure something out..

I'll tell you what, though. I got one of them fancy gold quills and a book. I've never actually owned a book before. Although it's already written in. I wonder if I pawn this off if I could get my own book.

The Gala came and went. To be honest, it was a bit too much for me. There's too many folks, and they're all bustling around and chatting and all sorts. I even heard a few talking about scanadlous things.

Finally got the dress for her. I hope she likes it - I'm unsure if that's in style. What is in style, anyway? I will have to find out what all the silks are wearing.
