I had the pleasure of attending the receptionist for Baron Norwood and his new wife, Margerie. The jousting was very entertaining, even if someone ended up breaking an arm. Though, if I am to be completely honest, I was a bit distracted by the conversations I was having. And I do agree with the things I learned today - mostly, that loud pants would be awful, and apparently pillows make very good wedding gifts.

Relationship Note on Saoirse

You'll come to find that there are a number of Valardins who make excellent adventuring partners despite our often stiff and serious exteriors. After all, we cannot all become knights, so some of us have to find something else to fill our time with.

I attended the Sip and Spar at the Golden Hart the other night. Even up in the rafters, it was a loud and riotous affair. I tried to keep track of the fights - I had the best seats in the house, apparently - though I can't recall any specific fight that I found overly enjoyable. I spent the rest of the evening down in the Hart's garden; it was far more quiet out there. Calm.

I've actually taken a particular liking to the gardens around the city. The Hart's garden was magnificent, but I also spent some time in the gardens to the back of the Grotto. It is a breathtaking place, certainly revitalizing. I found them both to be the right kind of place to be left with your thoughts, a perfect opprotunity to leave words behind you for awhile and enjoy the surrounding beauty of nature in the heart of what is a very busy city.

I've arrived in Arx, apparently on the heels of my cousin Talwyn's return as well. It's made settling in a touch easier, to be greeted with a few familiar faces while I explore the city and gain my bearings. So far, I've visited a dozen or so places, but I do believe the Gilded Page will become a frequented spot for me. It's very quaint, and the selection is broad enough to keep me busy for at least a few months.
