Nothing much new since the seige axcept I have been working out with the dogs lately. Animals require a different approach than human warriors! Elora has trained this to a fault, too, making them extremely effective even against armored men.

I am going to be focusing on improving my speed and reflexes, I think. Elora's dogs and those damn seige warriors were pretty slick at getting to em a bit too often. I need to be quicker to dodge and quicker to hit.

Elora says we are due for some action. I do not welcome the misery it will bring, but I admit I am looking forward to the exercise. I helped exercise the dogs in the sparing yard a couple days ago and they are better prepared than I am! City life is going to be my end, turning me into a soft and fat alehead. If I survive the attack anticipated, I hope it will bring some opportunity afield.

Again, little has happened, although we are still planning to travel north again to do some poking about at ELora's family estate. I also want to spend some time at sea--or at least on deck--so maybe we will take a ship this time. The animals need to be worked out, too, and I am going to run into a soggy little noble city boy soon. I am hoping we go sooner rather than later.

Elora and the kids are going strong...just as expected. Rosa and I have started planning a lifelong exercise and training regime for them...only partly in jest. They are, after all, sailors and explorers by family and we want them to be up to the task. Far better a few bruises when young than an early death when things get more serious. I am open to them selecting their own weapons and other gear choices--they do not need to pummel their oppenents to death just because I do--but I want them to excel at whatever they select.

Twins born. We have twins. I am a father. Not sure if I have fully adjusted to all this, but I am one happy bear! It is a fun thing to think about taking them out camping and teaching them fists and bows! And horses and armor and sails and oars! Gonna be some busy days coming up!

No news this week. We are taking it slow and resting up. I feel rested, but it is a nice change of pace. Weapons sharpened, armor cleaned, dog exercised, crow...fed? In any case, no dreams and no drama.

No news is good news, maybe. Elora and the Many are doing well, the twin is not in new trouble, the House rolls along smoothly. All in all, nothing to complain about and no victories to celebrate. There is still the ship hunt and still the investigation into Elora's family tragedy, still the animal training and still my training. Lie cfontinues.

Elora gifted me a new pair of caestus yesterday! They are way unbelievably beyond the old ones in quality, lighter and harder and tighter. They have metal bear claws, too! I am very happy with these and will need to get my butt down to the sands and try them out soonest. No real progress on the boat except that the family is looking at purchasing some ships and I may just ride those coattails to take one as my own. Elora is in good shape, the pregnancy without incident andshe has been doing the midwife arrangements. All in all a quiet week but still filled with good news.

New sparring partner named Teague. Boisterous and elemental, he hits like a mule and I will get some good training out of that! Nothing else new...except maybe that I am going to be a father! Elora is pregnant and we will be adding to the Ravenseye ranks soon!

ELora seems agreeable to the idea of owning a longship, although she was not quite sure what these vessels are capable of. When I explained coastal and river waters are the usual routes used, though, she did agree these are where our individual foci intersect. We can use the ship to go north, for instance, or to visit other coastal cities in pursuit of our goals while still allowing some income for the family. In addition, we can use it to transport household troops if such becomes necessary.

Elora joined Explorers this wekk, opening some possibilities for the future travel ideas. She continues to train the dog, Stray, and to teach me how to do the training as well. No luck on the ship yet, but I continue to look. I am sure there will be the one in time. We are still figuring out the vatious implications of what we learned investigating the Mercier family's tragic massacre--more to follow on that.

Did a trip with Elora to her family estate and we are will processing the findings. Since it is a private thing, I will write more once we have finished the reviewing and reflecting. Still no decision on a ship but the day will come. Meanwhile, looking into armor and continuing to learn about animal training. Family doing well here and hopefully soon we will travel North for a visit.

Slow week so far, but I am hoping for some more time working with Stray and browsing the shipyards. I am hoping to make a bid soon, probably on a longship. It is likely going to take weeks to get her crewed and provisioned, then I would like a contract rather than just footing the expense for a trip north, but we can use her to visit home and maybe to add to Ravenseye coffers.

Elora is teaching me how to train animals and Rosa has agreed to share whatever she has picked up as well. It is fascinating a bit to see the creatures begin to respond to teaching not really worded but yet still conveyed in a language of urgings and rewards. Sort of like a puzzle, finding the right combinations of actions, sounds and gestures to get the message from human to animal.

SLow week. I have not even met Rosa to get trounced by her whirlwind self. I am looking forward to the exercose, too. Just been busy with Elora and with being lazy, I guess. Wandered the docks some as well, looking at shops and making plans for what I might invest in. Still leaning toward a longship with the thought that I might finance some trading and maybe use it to help find the raiders that hit Elora's family. I am a bit tired of having vague ambitions without real action, so I am building plans.

Rosa has agreed to help me with my sleep problem. Elora is as well, so maybe I will become a normal sleeper...between the two of them, they should at least be able to knock me out! In fact, Rosa is bugging me to join her in the sparring ring so she can do just that.

Going to do some chasing of people in the family next, see if I can find myself a ship to do some travel and maybe a little privateering? There is less justification for this expense than I might admit out loud, but it is all about spending some time at sea. Not all the time...just some. Living in a city fulltime can be a little bit too attractive, I think. Even addictive. I do not wish to become that soft and fluffy.

Elora has agreed to intensify training for Stormcrow and STray. She is a marvel with animals and this will mean some seriously usefull skills for them. The bird can be especially useful at sea and both have already practiced their skills on land. I am looking forward to the benefits, but it is also rewarding to see the critters growing in this way.

I watched another canine contest and poor Stray seems a bit disgruntled when I try to get him todo stuff I see the show dogs managing. The critter is loyal as any, but he is a street dog and remains half wild despite all the efforts Elora puts into him. That is fine, really. He is always there when it counts.
I will be helping Elora go over her family site soon, looking for clues and such. We are married formally now and so it is a duty as well as a...well, not really a pleasure but more of a value. She needs the help and I will be there for her.
