As of recent I have been approached with questions regarding the blessed union of marriage. This has been from souls both high and low regarding the many facets of such unions and the ever difficult matter of the interplay between marriage and love. It bears reminding that marriage falls under the province of Limerance and whilst we often celebrate Him with our love, He is above all the God of fidelity.

This is a important distinction on the subject because the peers of the realm marry not out of love for eachother, but for their subjects and family. In our blessed realm every man and woman has their place, as much as the servant tends to their liege it is the duty of the liege to care for their servant. It is dictated in our most ancient laws. The nobles carries many burdens in their duties to their people, the King and the Gods and among them is the great sacrifise of their selves. They act not in their own interests but in those of the realm, and so a blessed union between peers is a union of families, not persons. Binding our realm together with oaths that preserve our prosperity and peace.

It is a selfish soul that breaks their sworn promise to their people for the passions of the heart. Those that lead our people shall never do so lightly and the privilegies and duties that come with it should be seen as the burdens that they are. It is, perhaps, something easily forgotten.

Relationship Note on Cassima

Fear keeps us from doing that which we fear. It is indiscriminate with regards virtue or value. It often motivates acts of immoral substance, or freezes one from performing acts of valor.

Even something so simple as a soft word of protest against a flagrant wrong can be dissuaded by fear.

It is no suitable deterrent.

Relationship Note on Alban

Take advantage of confession, my lord.

And then let brothers and sisters of the Faith help navigate clean hands and an unburdened heart through these troubled waters.

Archlector Roran did well honoring Our Lady of Change in todays' First Bloom rite to mark the passing of the season from Winter into Spring.

Let us not forget that while this celebration marks the temporal changing of seasons, Lagoma - our goddess of change - represents growth and change for the better.

Let not the meaning of First Bloom be confined to simple weather. Take heed: the seed of change can root in our minds and hearts on any given day.

Honor the goddess by seeking to improve your lot and being active in accomplishing the betterment you would like to see in your lives and world.

Lagoma is an ever active goddess and she is honored by participation - not idle prayer - in the world around you that would bring a brighter future.

Unity is a tool used by men to forward their shared endeavors.

Where unity is used to aspire toward higher ideals, or to settle matters of justice, and mutual trust is forged before Limerance, it can appear to be virtuous. The Faith is bound by unity.

Where unity is formed by happy circumstance of shared cruel interest, it is not so virtuous. Swarms of locusts that descend upon the harvest are bound by unity.

Each Godly virtue, inherently righteous, has a sinful reflection. Unity can have no such reflection as it is not inherently righteous.

Disunity among those in virtuous aim is sinful. Unity among those in sinful endeavor is sinful. Unity is not a virtue.
