Relationship Note on Braith
Our son grows fine and fast, and I have no one more to thank than my wife... with some help from her maids. I cannot wait to start teaching him the ways of adventure and mischief. Of course, not at all intended to cause The Wife worry, no. I have to admit, I am especially looking forward to him learning some of the culture of both our upbringings, bear hunting is grand after all.

Relationship Note on Braith
So attending my cousins wedding reception brought to mind the last wedding reception I was able to attend with The Wife this past winter. I never suspected her capable of such snowball treachery as to go to war with me directly! This reminds me, I still owe her, even if she did give me such a fine son. Regardless, the primary lesson to learn is, all is fair in love and war. Not to mention it is all fun and games until a high lord throws a sword.

So many things happening all at once now. We truly live in fascinating times. Unnatural snow. Two sets of visitors providing overtures. Other odds and ends. one could probably argue times are boring. Yet I no longer think so, myself.

It has been very good being back and catching up with old friends, family, and new faces. I owe time to many many people, and hopefully they will be patient. There i only so much of me to go around. If patience is not their best trait, perhaps they can throw things at me. Preferably alcohol, sealed alcohol specifically. Gently, too.
Sorry, all this talk of booze earlier made me think I should ask for it as a personal appearance bribe or something similar!

Now that all the professional writings are completed. Gods, my HEAD. Whoever is banging those drums need to stop! And that stupid gong. I'm going to cleave the joker with the heavy bell, I swear. Garibaldi looked at me funny when I woke and demanded he go see to all these sounds getting stopped. I think I licked part of the beach last night if my tongue's version of its tale is correct. I vaguely recall mixing brandy with something.
I hope the one-eyed joker is happy. I drank, and drank. I have a vague memory of a drinking competition. I'm assuming that is some sort of odd alcohol fueled dream. Though, I feel like it may have been reality. So many people to meet, and remember last night. I slept the whole day and most of the evening away, and I regret that. But I kept the contents of my stomach, that is the important part. Listen, could you write this more quietly, no don't write that. Stop. Are you new or something?

Relationship Note on Valerio
Never did see eye to eye on all topics with the man. Cousins fight though, it is only natural. I received the news on my journey and I can honestly acknowledge, it came as a surprise. He always kept calling himself old, and our age difference was only 7 years. Now he won't see true old age, and that is a shame. With the news I turned back towards home. On the way back I ran into a messenger to receive a letter from Cambria. I know this loss wounds her greatly. I acknowledged the formal order to return, advised her of my status. Somehow, I managed to beat the messenger service back. Not by a lot, but by a slight margin.
Valerio is gone. To some a hero. To Many a friend. Others family. To me a mixture of all at this point, with a healthy dose of 'what a pain in my ass sometimes!!'. He will be missed, but we must move on. Never forgetting. We of the Hydra lost a valuable head, another will rise in its place. We will forge on. I have much catching up to do in the meantime.

Sobriety is an interesting thing when it comes as a result of a serene choice to preserve oneself. Not that I've been in the mood to be out and about lately, and truly, I haven't.
I've even been taking it easy with training, though never so much as to become lax and complacent with my exercises. Just a little less obsessed in reaching that peak that never comes, living a bit more in the here and now rather than worrying about the 'ifs' of the future.
That said, I've been spending more time reading books as of late. I am very thankful for our Scholars past and present and all the knowledge they are sworn to maintain throughout the ages.
I've even been taking it easy with training, though never so much as to become lax and complacent with my exercises. Just a little less obsessed in reaching that peak that never comes, living a bit more in the here and now rather than worrying about the 'ifs' of the future.

It's rare that you get to work together with a group like the Valorous Few. However, they and Skull (whose name I shall never know) made for wonderful team-mates and I hope to see Skull around again. I always enjoy fun banter while I'm fighting. Makes you feel alive.
