I more then looked up to Padraig, he worshipped the ground he walked on. Padraig taught me how to trust no one but myself, how honor is only as important as what it earns you. This is why I agreed to follow his brother's scheme to depose Frederik and put the Chillhearted on the seat of the Highhill.
The plot didn't go as planned. While Padraig fought Frederik in an honor duel in the Great Hall, My job was to hold my cousin Sara and her mother Lydia hostage. It went poorly, even with my sword drawn and her unarmed, I was no match for the knight Lydia was, and by the time my brother was slain I was already locked in the room he planned to hold them in. It was Frederik's mercy after an oath of fealty that led to my release.
My foolish actions caused a tear in my family, and this I believe aided in aunt Lydia's eventual suicide at the site of her son's body being brought home. I went into months of isolation after this plagued by my own feelings of guilt and shame. I decided to return once more to face the effects of my actions. I can not change my unfounded ignorant choice to follow along with Padraig's plan. Had I known I would end up here is often a very common feeling that goes along with what I did.
But I have made my mind up to stop moping and living in the past and make steps forward to become a different man, the kind worthy of respect and honor. One my friends and allies can trust again. This is my story and the things I seek penance for.

I am glad to see that my cousin, Lord Jasper, has decided to return to Arx. Most of the renovation to the mansion has been done, but there is always more work ahead of us.

Relationship Note on Lyiana
I didn't expect to gain a protege during a meeting with a seamstress to discuss commissions and the like.
I seemed to have been lucky after visiting her shop, Beauty in You. I was put off by the name at first, but Mistress Lyiana does excellent work, even for men's attire, and all in quick time.
Now, I am thinking of ways to expand on her storefront. Not that I don't already have a lot on my plate with my own renovations.

I would like to congratulate Princess Jaenelle Velenosa on hosting a very entertaining and unique dining experience. I had only sent in my name because I felt it would be a good way to meet people, or at least, make a new acquaintance with whomever I was paired with. In the span of the evening, I was introduced to not one, but two women -- one who is still a mystery to me.
The other, the hostess herself.
This was certainly an evening that everyone in attendance will never forget.

A splendid time was had out in the snow at the Valardin snowfort competition and it was all thanks to Princess Katarina and Princess Alis. It was an honor to join forces with Princesses Astraea and Terese, Lady Monique and Archlector Etienne. Then there was Sir Neb. It was a hard fought victory for our competition was fierce.
Though I'm sure if I sent a missive to my father about the victory, the Chillhearted would merely say that playing in snow is far different from war. And I'm sure that he's right, like always.

The religious shift regarding shamanism has been an interesting one and, I suppose, one that makes sense. It does give those affected a difficult choice, one that should have been made when their families bent the knee. My main concern, however, is that those who wished for discipleships are the ones more willing, if that's the correct term, to embrace the Pantheon and this may have soured that experience.
I am curious to see where things will go from here, but I put my faith in the Dominus' decision.

The loneliness of working alone in a city full of strangers is a heavy burden to undertake. So I feel blessed to have met one full of beauty and kindness to help light up what had been a dreary day.

I arrive in Arx and Jasper has gone missing. Most likely, returned to Highhill for whatever reason. The hounds have been restless, what with the noise of the ongoing renovation disturbing them.
Overall, however, despite the inconveniences of needing to renovate the family estate, this move has felt almost liberating for me.
