Organizing belongings is rarely considered pleasurable, so often decried as a miserable task.

"Don't you have servants for that?" ask the offended nobles in a mummers' play!

"A lady or gentleman of quality would never spend their time so!" proclaims the wit. "Unless searching for evidence of treachery..."

I have spent too much time among Lycene playwrights of late, and does it not show? They are all the same wondrous and lyrically devious, though I digress. Sorting through boxes of fabric or letters and poems can be wonderfully cathartic. Here and there, slips of memory produce gems to be polished and admired. One or two might even be worthy of setting. I press my lips to an envelope washed in a faded scent. I trace the able hand of a correspondent, moving over faded ink, and cherish these renewed friendships with a bold, breathless regard.

All in a good day's work.

The snows of winter are upon us. Such a time makes me crave the warmth of spring sunshine more than ever. Icicles fringing the window send me into my garden, obscured from the chill embrace, and regret firmly that we must shiver away until March before the first tinge of warmth.

It's curious to me to see where my work ends up. Who wears it, who makes such beautiful things sublime by their creative spark.

The Launch, Pieros .. 9th of October, 1014

"And waves, and sails snapping; for the march
Of the Compact's glory takes to the wine-dark sea.
Dancers poised on the decks raise their hands
From the rails and catch the cry,

Stilled, as one prays in a shrine,
As purpose filled their bodies and shines
Silvered with the first shaft of sunlight,
Beautiful and more compelling with each breath.

Silence pulls apart at the seams, smote;
We halt, trembling, where water churns
And proclaims the splintering of chains
To the lofty vault of the sky.

Light cleaves tempered steel walls,
And those powerful lands that were once
    Vibrant with untrameled hopes--
Rise to the unheralded show of strength."

Tonight, the pen and the needle are inadequate. Wine cannot give proper purpose.

I'm so sorry, Lady Monique.

How the world changes, that we now welcome children of the Empire, those of Eurus and of Cardia.

Utterly thrilling!

Is it a sin to dwell so much upon the fineries of luxury that are so beloved of a friend, and use that as a consolation to their absence? Am I mistaken in the making of all of this? I cannot help but feel as though the very approach of luxurious creations is faulted by timing, but we are still all creatures of beauty, creation, and wonder.

Those we lose to the viccisitudes of business and duty leave their loss like a torn, dark hole in a bright garden.

I cannot help but see it, and ache.

I yearn for flowers. Scarlet, vermillion, russet, burgundy, pimpernel. The season of gardens is upon us, and in their blossoms and traced designs on silk I see the work of the Lyceum in its grandest form.

How many use these fine inspirations as their device? I'm left to wonder.

Lady Monique offers such generosity of knowledge at a critical moment. I'm grateful for such wisdom.

I praise Mistress Mirella oft, but I need to praise her anon for the tireless commitment she makes to all things good.

A fast friend, a bright mind, a keen and dark wit. A woman could not ask for better in her life, and I am humbly enriched by her.

I love it when the Compact gets a happy ending. Stormstorm should be very happy in Gemecitta's arms.

I also wonder how it can be we are nearly to the depths of autumn, with the long snowy season to look ahead to?

Correspondence is an underrated form of communication. What sweet joys, discovering the penning of the word, the discovery of the unexpected message awaiting me in Athenais' hands!

What makes you happy? What truly inspires you? There are themes and motifs that end up buried under the welter of life, and every so often, mine for them like a treasured heirloom.

It has been forever since I felt this relaxed. Floating in a pool of cool, clear water and admiring the sunset is divine. Highly recommended.

Moments when we stare at a goal, and it seems as remote as the moon. I could not name a path to take me there to touch it, and reaching the reflection in this pool was equally hopeless.

Then in the stroke of a pen, the turn of a word, the image falters. The illusion falls. Truth stands at my feet with a calm smile and confidence that swept me up.

O! How grateful I am for those insights brought by the Thirteenth!
