After a few days in the city, I have concluded that I have been given some sort of obscure test. While on the search for the Redwoods, I heard that their training is notoriously brutal. I don't know that this is brutal, since I was given the resources with which to have a weapon made, but I would have thought I'd been given some sort of casts offs or used gear. Clearly, giving me materials I could easily sell is a test to see if I would just sell them, but unless they have contacts with every craftsman in the city, how would they know if I did?
I have no reason to do that, so am focusing on the challenge of finding a suitable shop. That should just be a matter of observation and asking. Not too much a test, but I am a recruit, so I know they do not expect much...
The real challenge is, I have no idea what to have made or even what would suit me or be good. What is a mercenary weapon anyway? I don't remember any of my mother's tales about father that mentioned that.

First day in the city of Arx, maybe going to a grand family dinner for the Igniseri Family was bold even for me, but they were quite welcoming despite me being the only commoner there and a stranger at that. I tried to be friendly and considerate as I could be and I think they liked me quite well, especially when I mentioned that I enjoy solving mysteries and finding out clues. It seems I will be quite busy in this city!
I met Marquessa Quenia, Baroness Lucita, Prince Arwan(yes, a prince!!), Lord Guiliano, Duchess Grazia, Lord Teireno, Scout Rowenova, and Archlector Brigida.
Prince Arwan offered me a job and if I was interested should write to him. I told him that I would. So overwhelming! I'm a mercenary, I think it would be fine to do this?
Lord Guiliano mentioned he dabbles in investigation. If I meet him again, I will have to see if he might be interested in help or helping me as he got pulled aside for a private conversation and it wasn't polite to ask him then.
The Marquessa mentioned a raffle of some sort in the next day or two.
