Alas, it didn't work - I'd put too much strain on it, or I folded it too much. Air got inbetween it. Warped and bubbled it. Maybe I can look at putting something inbetween - something that'll help bring out the cast-off from when it's hammered, and something that'll stop the air from going into it whne it's folded.

The latest harvest of steel is superior - it gave me the chance to experiment a bit. It's there, and I got to layer it, by taking the steel, folding it, working it out again. It's really starting to turn out well - I'll update this journal after the fact.

I had to throw out some steel earlier. The bloom that it came from - the quality was too poor. Felt like I'd been lied to about the overall quality, but when it came to actually forging something out of it, there were too many cracks. It hurt to throw it out.

I've also started learning how to craft jewellery. It's nothing superb. I've had to throw some pieces out - the amount of metal involved is far less, so it's a little more intricate and tricky to work with. Thankfully I'm just trying to get designs, and I haven't ruined any actual jewels. That would be awful.

I've began making my own designs for weapons now. The quality of the steel here is amazing - compared to what we had to scrounge and forge from bloom, this is like stepping into a new era.

The forge is finally complete. It's an older building that I've had to re-do, as the forge itself was broken, but it's looking far better than it was. Probably hotter than it should be in here, but I prefer the heat.

Forged my first blade in Arx. Went well enough - the tools here are better than back home.
