There's so much inspiration to be found within the prismatic colors of Gemecitta quartz and the lush gardens of the city --

I absolutely adore the views of the city from the various ramparts, especially on clear autumn days.

There was a small expedition that set out to rescue a cargo ship that was raided and run aground by a group of marauders. We made quick work of them -- we did.

Now --

I have a pretty harpoon to remind myself of how much fun that way was had.

Poor Old Gregg.

At the Shrine of the Thirteenth, I asked myself a lot of difficult questions of myself today. I meditated on the questions that I didn't have answers to.

Turns out, there's a lot of work involved with self-introspection, and it tired me out --

My bed was still warm.

I had a dream in which I wore a gown of pastel sunrises and sunshower rainbows. Then, the silks turned to spectral shadows and lingering sighs.

-- Now, how to translate that particular dream into being?

I had a dream and in it, we named you Sofia. I woke up knowing that it was only a dream, but I'll remember that one for a while.

I write my story as it unfolds, I run out ragged to meet myself -- and then I turn, distracted, and I look for the one that sets the world on fire.

Gods, but that was enjoyable. I don't think I've ever danced so much ever in my entire life. The trouble I stumbled into afterward was just as fun too.

Days later -- I now have a full costume. I cannot wait.

I suppose I should start the search for a mask to wear for this year's masque.

The fabric of night never looks as striking as it does from the Thrax Ramparts. Stars seem like eyes, shinning from so far away, and it makes me think that there must be a field of skulls in the sky.

It's a comforting thought.

Does all water taste the same? Or, like whiskey, does water have varied and unique tastes?

It was called rutile quartz. That's what I want mine to be made of --

It was so clear: the clouds thin as small swords, the moon slicing bright through them. Caught up, again, in research. The stars in my eyes have shared sharp edges, I yearn to learn more folklore - hear more stories.

Clearly, I am reading too much on Lycene bladework treatises. They've gone to my head.

I watched an owl unfurl from a perch in a tree, so swift -- so silent -- it started me with how striking it was. It swept the grass, talons extended, and I saw nothing afterward but the grass shifting under the weight of its wings.

Beautiful.

Of death, another poet writes:

Be silent in that solitude,
Which is not loneliness—

Which is a beautiful way to say, perhaps. We're all alone, but, we are never lonely in the moment of our death, for our Queen and Mother is with us.

There's a poet that I've read, that wrote about the great cats of the menagerie, saying:

Only at times, the curtain of the pupils
lifts, quietly--. An image enters in,
rushes down through the tensed, arrested muscles,
plunges into the heart and is gone.

I have seen this, embodied.

When they say there's a cow out there that gives silver milk. One: it's a goat. Two: The cheese is good, but it's not silver. Three: why did you even believe that story, to begin with, Neilda Saik?!

Relationship Note on Haakon

Listen, you try sounding sane while you're busy avoiding a mace heading straight into your face while your brother-in-law is yelling at you not to play with your food. I was under a lot of pressure at the time, don't judge me!
