The overbundance of support that I have received has greatly reduced my worry that I was abandoned by ALL of my family and friends. Perhaps that is why the spirits have given us two parents. When one line fails, the other provides. To those new friends that I did not know I had, thank you.

Relationship Note on Cirroch

Cousin,

Too late for warnings. If my health was your concern you wouldn't have abandoned your blood when I was unjustly treated. The only oath I owe, is to my cousin Prince Darren and the House of Redrain. Your Duke, proclaimed my denoblement and you cemented it with your cowardliness and silence. Look on to my fields of fucks and see how barren it is, when it comes to your opinion.

While I did not know that my journal entries were in the purview of such fine folks as Baron Audric of de Lire and the mercenary Shard of the Valorous Few, I will say that I appreciate the attention and lecture when it comes to how wolves behave, I hope both of you could make the exception for my fubar, and accept it as the metaphor I intended it to be.

Years of service to a house, put out like the flickering flame of a candle. Not by gods, spirits or self fulfillment but by a man unworthy of the name he carries. Who's blood is so thin, he forgets about ancient oaths made between brothers and spirits. A man so threaten by you that the mere rumor of ambition by those beneath him is enough to warrant such an extreme response rather than cultivate it and together build something greater. Vercyn and Khanne, you may have taken my title, you may have taken my family, but I swear to my parents, my grandparents, and my ancestors that I will take them back from you. Your first mistake was breaking my bonds of servitude and the oaths of loyalty I made to your line because now I am free. Free to make my demands and free to enforce them. The only way to stop this pebble is to catch it before it turns to an avalanche. Good luck.

To House Sanna, how low you have fallen, lap dogs at the feet of an idiot. You forget of your blood feud with the Halfshav and you forget how it was with the union of my father and my mother, and the promise of a child of both houses that, that hunger was sedated. Now that is no longer the case, what is your excuse? For exposing your belly when the master orders you to roll over demands either the highest of punishment or retribution to the spirits of Man, our ancestors, the FREE northern men. You were supposed to be there for blood and you were not. Instead, you lowered your head and closed your lips, like a good little boy. We are not dogs, we are wolves. We follow our leaders not because we are told to but because like a pack, we feel that spirit in our core, and when that alpha grows weak and sick, it is ripped apart by said pack. That is my truth now and my loyalties bound by oath to myself, my blood, my pack, and Skald but my services... to highest bidder.

*A crudely done sigil of two stags locked by their antlers and a silver Compact coin hovering above them, is printed on the bottom of the journal entry.*

It is his right as duke to do as such but I have done none of those things. I served to this day House Halfshav. I served the will of my voices even when I disagreed, and any command from Vercyn was mine to follow. There is no instance in which I moved against my house, spoke ill of my house. I love my house. Now, that I had some harsh words with a 2nd cousin, sorry, I ain't no politician. Never the less, anyone reading this and looking for a good accountant... Well.

Inadvertently, children, I have found a way to bring together three great northern houses; house Halfshav, House Sanna, and House Nightgold through trade and development. Never had I thought that working as minister would have afforded me such an opportunity. That is what Arx is. You may at first feel betrayed that you are being sent far away from home but trust me, like in the woods and the mountains, Arx is where houses are created and you should always strive for more than you deserve. Come to Arx, find your cousins, have them introduce you to their cousins, and so on. Always write home, especially to your grandmother. Take a class or two. You will never have another opportunity like this one to meet people of other backgrounds with skills naturally unavailable to you.

From love,
Your father.

Dear sons and daughters,

If you ever find yourself in Arx, do not forget to put some money aside for a good wooden chest. There are plenty of good carpenters but I recommend Oakheart Woodworks on the west end of the Merchant road.

Love sincerely, Your father.

Sons and daughters,

Let me tell you a little about the work I am doing here in Arx. It is kind of a big deal. Coming to Arx following defeat, I felt I had a lot to prove and father always said that when you have a Halfshav with something to prove, you put them at the front. That is what my duke did and made me minister of coin for the house. With all eyes on me, now if I fail I will not only fail you but the confidence the duke put in our family. If I succeed, I will have the opportunity to really leave a imprint on this world and someday raise above my station.

Love sincerely,
Your father.

Sons and daughters,

This is my first entry in Arx and I have to admit that I did not arrive under the best circumstances. You see, not all business is insured, even if you have all the silver to throw at it. There are other circumstances like abandoned raiders killing your business partners, that will throw a stick into your plans. After losing a considerable amount of personal wealth, I was left with no other choice but to write back home. I assure you, there was a lot of shame in my defeat but sometimes, the only thing left to do is reach out to your elders. So, under their advice and with only 34 silvers left in my pocket, I made my way back to Arx with the intent of reaching out to my house offices here about work.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, take a day or two before you report. Find a nice bar in the Ward of the Compact, pay your room with the pocket change in your purse and convince someone to buy you enough drinks to forget who you are. Then go take a swim in cold water, you do not want to appear all haggard when you present yourself to your house.

Love sincerely,
Your father.
