There is nothing to add, Lord Silas said what needed to be said.

Silas made his choice. Don't come to him for any Mercier business, he ain't no longer one.

Let me read you a message I received from the voice of Grayson, Princess Cara Grayson;

"Master Mercier," The princess begins, as you expect from a polite company - but it quickly takes a turn for the worse. "We would kindly request that you desist from your war profiteering, lest you find your family bearing unusual amounts of censure on the matter --" War profiteering, censorship. We? "Particularly as rationing is a very real concern and may well affect your business soon enough." The voice continues, affect my business soon enough? House Mercier has no business. We have been committed to the cause since long before the threat was at our gates. Even the Grayson can tell you this. So I do not understand the basis for this 'threat'. Let us continue, "And to forestall the inevitable protestation, please be advised that in the middle of a siege, with dead and the forces of darkness all around us, the very last thing in the world I wish to have to deal with is the Mercier family yet again setting tongues wagging while they line their pockets." I do not anything needs to be said, "Cara - Voice of Grayson."

Lord Tobias of the Crimson Blades is a man I respect dearly. His officers safeguard the safety of my parents and my home. As things get more complicated and dangerous, the soldiers do not move from their post but instead ensure the security that allows me to stay here in Arx handling the business instead of having to return to the vineyard to secure my family. For that I am greatful because family is everything. The Crimson Blades will be staple of the Mercier House now and many years to come.

Everyone complaining about the lack of men the Iron Guard has but considering that house had to be clean and at the moment is in the process of restoration, you would think the houses would offer atleast a recruit for them to interview. You know, for the greater good of the wards.

I am comfortable in my tower even when I am a prisoner of my own mind. If you need me, talk to the guards I placed outside my door.

The Most Holy Dominus Fawkkuhl forgets the third law of Limerance, "While within a demense, one must obey all laws set by the demense's lord. This is the fidelity between Limerance and Gild.".
For someone so close to the Gods, you think he would know that.

Lord Tobias is an interesting man and one I am proud to say I am working with. He has dispatched a full company of his men to protect Clemenstone Vale and establish our foothold in defense of its land against the many threats that circle the homeland. The men Lord Tobias has sent are of great discipline and skill. Any merchant or noble trading on Mercier merchant routes can expect their protection. Gild favors the bold.

Thank you. Thank you all for the kind words. Horatio was not simply a cousin but I considered a close friend and trusting business partner. Through out the years I learned to leave him be and when he was ready he would come get me. It was a relationship that work brilliantly and one that I feel will never be replaced. I did not just loose a cousin or a friend, I lost part of the Mercier. Still as we must put our feelings aside and wake up the next morning to toil the land and watch the crop, for we must feed the masses. Horatio, you are now one with ground where-ever you are but you will never be forgotten.

You want my opinion? At the end of the day, I punch out like every single one of you. I inspect my fields, insure lines are running properly, and that my investors and clients are content. I applied myself and that is all that matters. The crown knows what I am about, they know about my interest in serving the city I was born and raised in. That they did not choose me as minister, alright stings a little, but I would not have been a proud loyalist if I disagree with the crown's wisdom. If anything it means I have to work harder or that politics is not my thing and perhaps I should stick to being a merchant. I am sure my investors would also appreciate that I concentrate on their business after all.

Had a good sit down with Prince Edain where I met with Duke Niccolo and the prince had the initiative to introduce me to the Duke as a businessman which opened the door for Mercier to work with Velenosa and Duke Niccolo for some business in the Lyceum ward. We are having to export our glass but profits have been plentiful enough for us to take that matter into our hands and open up our own glassworks we can supply our own product plus the many wineries connected with the Lyceum ward. Still, I have not had the chance to meet and sit down with the Redrain and see how I can better serve them.

I have sought the position of Civil Development for the Crown and received a very polite and optimistic letter from Lady Regent Dawn in response to it. I understand that she has a council that makes this decisions so I took it upon myself to gather important voices from around the ward with the hopes that they would back my appointment. As of now I have requested support from Prince Edain, Princess Sophie, Princess Donella, Guildmaster Joscelin, Bethany Mercier, Silas Mercier, Horatio Mercier, with many more to come.

This week has been quite eventful. The tea shop has been opened in the Valardin ward and I am waiting on Silas to finish with another client before he can work on the furniture for the place. In the mean-time we are using what we could get our hands on. With the help of the Crafter's Guild and Princess Natalia, I opened a shelter for the homeless considering how cold it is about to get. Bethany has proved herself to be a great help here in Arx. Aelius and Horatio on the other hand... I have sent many messages for Horatio and he has failed to respond to them. Aelius has been in the city for a while and I have yet to see his face. In the Mercier household everyone works. So changes will be coming.

Lord Tobias wishes to meet with me and discuss some business about supplying Mercier guards with men. I find that a great idea and the perfect example of nobles working with commoners and providing services. He has the crimson blades while foreigners, they have a reputation with their offices now in the city. Many merchants have enjoyed their protection. I wonder if Lord Tobias is a tea or a wine kind of man. Last time we spoke I sent him some our special brandy. Perhaps I would do the same.

I had a good meal with my brother Silas and sister Bethany. Any doubt on wether they are prepared to assume the role destiny has set for them is gone. To be in their presence I can not help but feel to be the dumbest person in the room or the weakest one. It is a good feeling to have. My father always said to surround yourself by better people than yourself. That is my sentiment when sharing a moment with my brother and sister, the same with my cousins. It gives me the confidence to tackle business more aggressively because I know I have a foundation in my family that I can trust.

There is an organized chaos that surrounds our city. Everything is color coded and cut up into nice equal pieces for nobles to share among themselves. Layers fit on top and below. Some times bleeding into or out of this pieces. The Merciers have had the fortune of being on the right side of trade and I can honestly say that I am very proud of all the work we have put into enriching our family status and wealth. An increase in revenue will help us meet the high demands our clients expect from us. With the warehouse we are able to move more goods. The garden lets us manufacture here in the city. A tea shop will be raised in the coming days for us to sell our tea and soon after we have a suitable place for a workshop we will put one up and provide employment to allot of commoners. The Merciers are prove that success is measured with dedication and you can rise to glory no matter your station in life. Bless Gild's fortune.

The Silver Consortium, founded by Prince Cicero, is a hit. Merchants looking to trade with the foreigners now have a place to go to, to make contacts and pool resources. Alongside Cicero, Mister Rook a renown courtier and Grayward stands alongside the prince and at every turn promoted the prince's vision. While I am not sure if we disagree or agree, there is still allot to learn about this association, I am extremely excited to be working with Cicero and Rook. They stand out as men of destiny.

I visited the memorial for the late Baron Saik, Baron Eos Saik's and Lady Kima Saik's father. While I was not privy to the relationship the Saik had with my father, I do know there was a mention of respect and I thought it polite to provide them with a special blend called the Saik Lion that came out of our House line but has yet to go on to the sale. I hoped to use ingredients familiar from their region and combine them with flavors typical of Arx. A blend of the two and a perfect representation of Baron Eos Saik and Lady Kima Saik reality. At first, I did not know why I had come to visit them but there I was with Silas, my brother, in a very private still made a public arrangement. I would be lying if I did not admit that at first, I felt out of place but as if fate was aligned the sense of predomination revealed to me the reason I was there. I was there to learn and to prepare me for the very position future that my father does not get well. I cannot let this peace and this fortune to make me soft and unable to handle whatever troubles make our way.

A very interesting week for the Mercier. Considering all the threats, once absent from our thought, their hand now revealed, I feel a sense of safety for our city of Arx. Whether a figment of my thoughts or sign of a privileged life, I cannot tell. All that I know is that the motion to ensure our peace has been allowed to continue with very little confrontation. Those important figures of our city and the houses that make up its landscape are acting with the benefit of all.
