Relationship Note on Enyo

There aren't many people that I like as people. In fact, of all the people I know -- you sucked the least, my lady.

Relationship Note on Sabine

Scholars, it's a shame truly -- I think that my imperturbable wife may have taken ill. Although, I'll not say that to her face. I'm not stupid.

Relationship Note on Lycoris

Such happy news has made it's way to the palazzo. Tessere's liege-lord, Marquis Duncan Hawkmour, has found himself a match. I sincerely pray to all the Thirteen that the Marquessa Lycoris be welcomed within the city, where I hope she finds her way and flourishes amongst us.

An addition to my will, Scholars: If something dreadful should occur and there are what remains left of what was previously me -- I immodestly request that they be added to a barrel of Southern Thunder, sealed up, and set afloat at sea. That sounds like quite the happy ending. Drunk and on a pleasure cruise.

For an omelette, you see, a few eggs do need to be broken. No, Scholar, that isn't a metaphor. I am truly just talking about breakfast -- I slept in far too late in the afternoon and I'm famished. So, I'll have to see about that after I leave the Archives. Perhaps with some buttered toast, a rasher of bacon, and sparkling wine with peach nectar added to it. Some fruit. Doesn't that sound divine? Honestly, it's a much better subject to consider compared to anything _serious._

Relationship Note on Aleksei

Someone must truly appreciate the charitable cause, I think, if they are willing to participate. Though -- you'll never catch me within leagues of that esteemed dinner guest.

Relationship Note on Juliana

I commit to these pages the following: Lady Juliana Pravus has won. I am certain it is her work that has immortalized my countenance in marble, and I will need to discover if she is the also to blame for the strange painting of the --hrm. What is a serpent-cat amalgam even called? Why in the Abyss would someone like her even -- oh. OH.

What's been going on with the city lately? It's all too strange.

Before any of you think that I was bitten by that bitter grief bug? Sorely mistaken. Wouldn't break those vows I made for anything. Especially since -- well

-- I'd hate to give a reason for any god to be pissed off with me.

Oh, fine -- fine -- if you're going to transcribe everything I say for the permanent record, Scholar, take down the following. An unpublished excerpt from a treatise, In Defense of Indolence:

Synonyms for laziness are indolence and sloth. Indolence, like idleness, is often romanticized by the poet and the bard. _How sweet it is to do nothing at all,_ they say. Sloth has more moral and spiritual overtones than laziness or indolence, and has some kind of religious undertones to it. However, to note: laziness should not be confused with sloth or idleness or procrastination.

Hmm? No, that's it. There was more, Scholar, but I was feeling a lack of motivation.

Honestly? What's gotten into people? It's probably this weather. First it snows -- then it snows sickly -- and now the unending rain. I'll sleep until spring, I think.

Wake me up once the sun peeks back out.

There are some things that you cannot soothe away with a overly expensive bauble - some things you can't apologize for because the words drop into an empty cistern and sound hollow, and the noise echoes. You are reminded of your shortcomings when these moments occur and you promise to be better, next time.

Not even the stick, Guildmaster?!

(How about a duskstone -- in a root vegetable of your choice? A labradorite frog? A ruby zoisite skull? A skull sure would really complement the frightening sculpture.)

Probably not.

My heart -- it has been torn in half repeatedly until it's gone. Rent asunder. WOE IS ME.

Three ingots, some wood, and whatever else I'll need -- I suppose -- to get the start of making a bow. (No, Scholar. Obviously not me.) Rather, to find someone to design a bow. Another to craft it. I suppose if I were to incorporate serpents in the design, it would be -- what's the word -- sanguine of me to make assumptions so early. (Gods forbid that.)

I don't need a better bow -- I straight need a bow, your Highness. Also. ALSO. Why would I mind purple ribbons and matching arm guards in the same colors? That sounds AMAZING.

The twins that I hired on left all of a sudden. Honestly, I wasn't even surprised -- nor disappointed to see them _go_ -- they were too quiet, too eerie. One of them left behind some code message that essentially broke down to: "We went North. Back to family farm." Which is all well and good by me. It's not all been bad either. When I told Cypriano, that slouch, that I was thinking about sending HIM away to a nice family farm -- he started improving. Coral says it's because of something that I MAY have implied, but. I meant what I said. It's not MY fault if he chose to interpret it the wrong way.
