Relationship Note on Sophie
I have been given the greatest honor by Lagoma through her servant my cousin Sophie. She has made me her Hand in the Mercies and I am honored to help her as she walks her path and help those other Mercies as they learn to heal and learn to be agents of holy change. I do not usually gush yet this honor I am finding hard to come at with my usual stoic grace. I can only hope that my family understands this outburst.

I for one stay out of politics. I'm a physician, not a politician. With that I am mourning all the life and blood spilled in this. I pray that Lagoma, Our Lady of Change, helps us through this so we can grow through this not be stunted by it.

I have been thinking this over for a long time.
I have decided I want to start a Medical School. A place where people can get a more formal education for Medical Knowledge. A place where we can push the boundaries of medicine and be able to create new techniques to save more lives. I do not at this moment know how to start but I know once I put my mind to task I accomplish it.

I now currently have three apprentices. Of all three I am intrigued by in their own way.
Therese, my cousin, is wanting to learn to help our family survive things like the Lodge better. I commend her. I started teaching as many as I could so that when things happen more people are able to help with the healing.
Carmen. A Lieutenant with the Crimson Blades. Upon first meeting I can tell she is a hard worker. I always appreciate that. It means one will go far.
Sunniva. Queen of the Herbs. In that she may surpass me. Always good to know where you need to learn.

Made a massive breakthrough today. The patient exhibited much relief at the tincture of aspic oil. This tincture hopefully will reduce the fever and the discoloration of the skin. Aspic Oil is also good at reducing bruises and balancing the phlegm humors. Anise Oil, a diffusion will reduce fluid retention that is plaguing the soft tissues of the patients. Finally, the compresses of Self-Heal will take care of the open sores, the itching and pain. So far it has given relief. Even if it is minor ... it is something. Though I do think this is a big step in the right direction.

It is my first day back in the city after a hiatus of sorts. I'm not quite sure what I have gotten myself into but it is something important I can feel it in my bones.
First I cared for a patient. Fecundo. Several broken ribs. Clavical. Humors out of kilter. Worked with Coraline Thrax to administer the leeches and to redress the wounds. I should check on him to make sure he is in better condition on the morrow.
Then Coraline, I would say dragged me however that would imply that I had no voice in the matter, lead me to a woman's social gathering. It was interesting to say the least. The coffee was good. Cookies were fantastic. In the end I wound up in the Order of East Light. Fighting the darkness. isn't there a joke about a Mage who fights the darkness. Anyway, it seems like a noble and honorable cause that I can aid in the fight of. And my siblings thought I was a 'lesser' Valardin due to my disinterest in becoming a Knight. I can be a Knight against disease. More deadly against unbalanced humors than a person with a sword.
I digress. Till the morrow. Good night.
