In these last few weeks, I have found myself contemplating the position I fill and its responsibilities. What are they, and how do they apply to the current situation?
Let's begin with the definition. An archlector is chosen from among the Godsworn to lead a particular Shrine, guiding the dogma, the actions, and the discipleship therein. Expanding, this means that they are the Voice of their God and bear the responsibility of administrating the associated Shrine in accordance with the Faith. They are the final word in Shrine matters unless they are overruled by the Legates or the Dominus.
What does this mean? It means that the well-being of the Shrine falls on the Archlector's shoulders. They have been entrusted with nurturing the Shrine by those closest to the Gods, with tending to its needs and plotting a course that keeps the Shrine growing and healthy. It means the maintenance of internal matters, the actions taken by the Shrine, and the presentation of theology.
How does this apply? It is on me to lead the Thirteenth's Shrine and His Mirrormasks through this confusing and unsettling time. That much of the unrest has taken place among the Mirrormasks grieves me. I wish that I could have forseen this, to prepare and solidify the discipleship if it could not have been averted altogether. I wonder if there was more I could have done in the past. Unfortunately, I could not and was as blindsided as everyone else.
The disciples that speak Heresy and advocate for the involvement of the Abyss or outright secession do not speak for the Shrine, nor do they speak for me. But I have sent out godsfearing Mirrormasks who are educated in the theology of the Thirteenth and empowered to speak my words to the Compact. I pray Gods it helps to bring us unity again. More will be requred, but let us begin on a foundation of mutual understanding.

The work of the Shrine begins.
I often find that the Mirrormasks shine in times of trouble. When there is doubt, disquiet, or desperation, we are thrust into a crisis of belief. The Mirrormasks are charged with the sacred duty of Consultation. In these meetings, we listen to the penitent and guide them through their thoughts. Reflection is the act of paying mindful attention to the conflict within us, for we all have conflict in our lives. When this happens, we must bravely face that space for questioning and sit with the discomfort; it is within the crucible of crisis that we refine ourselves.
I am sending some of His most experienced Mirrormasks to Escuma soon. If it please the gods, they will arrive safely and begin ministering to Faithful without delay. The people there have been through a great trauma; innocent souls suffer for the crimes of Oathbreakers. We will be there to serve them and tend to their spiritual wounds.
But the pendulum swings both ways. Those very same Oathbreakers will find fairness and full throated defense within our ranks. We will speak with them; we will represent them without prejudice, for this is the nature of Duality, that the One must not be ignored in favour of the Other. Doubt must be acknowledged, must be given space. We will be there to serve them and tend to their spiritual wounds.

Attacking the Mercies was not the smartest move to make. Continuing to threaten those of the Faith is not the smartest move to make. Please don't do that. Things will get really messy really fast.
If you or someone you know is having homicidal ideation towards a member of the Faith, the Shrine of the Thirteenth God strongly recommends seeking immediate medical care and probably a few weeks spent in Reflection under the care of an experienced Mirrormask.

I'm told I need to rest, that my body has stopped keeping up my mind. And yet, there's so much to do; I have promises to keep and duties that only I can fulfill. How could I neglect my service to the gods?
It is stubbornnes and an abhorance of mental stagnation that grips me. The answer to my question can only be found in Reflection, and so I am forced to rest anyway. At least I still have some projects to stave off the worst.

Whenever slavery is presented as mercy, even common sense demands that the obvious misunderstanding be pointed out, let alone the teachings of the Faith. Skald was returned to us, and we came to know better as we learned of the immeasurable gift he gave us: freedom.
Politics is not our business, nor should it ever be. The Thirteenth's shrine stands ready to meet with -whomever- needs or wishes its services. We encourage it, actually, as the holy act of Reflection often leads to open minds and listening hearts.

After a period of meditation and prayer, I have come to the realization that my decision to study one thing was an indulgence. The call the gods have placed on my life is absolute, and I owe them the fullness of my dedication. Instead, I will deepen my study of the tenents of our Faith, renewing my spirit through the truths of the lessons. May the gods grant me insight and wisdom.
