Relationship Note on Arn
Frederik and Lord Telmar have been fighting shavs together since they were very young. Though Arn does have half a decade on Frederik, the two men have seen a lot together. Frederik deals with the Duke's crass nature with a patience that seems limitless, and speaks to him with a familiarty that makes me cringe, for if it were most other men, I fear their ears would be boxed.

Relationship Note on Edain
Frederik saw Prince Edain as a naive idealist at one point, but recent conversations regarding further plans has changed his mind. Frederik's unsure whether he's pleased the prince has started seeing things the way a realist had, or ashamed that the prince couldn't be protected from such things. Either way, my lord is loyal to His Highness. Like a dog, he'd say.

Relationship Note on Seth
Seth tried to take Lydia, Frederik's late wife (and not the Nightgold woman) and Sara hostage. While Lydia handily beat the boy down, Frederik forgave but never forgot Seth's treachery. Frederik sees his slaying as Padraig as setting the score with the boy, but there will always be tension, and if there was any trust before? There never will be now.

Relationship Note on Orathy
Orathy's one of the Culler men that Frederik happened upon in the market one day. Curious as to why Orathy had men following him and what Orathy's profession was, Frederik believes they established a somewhat shallow rapport. While Frederik has no love for soldiers of fortune, Orathy presented a fresh view of the smallfolk that earned him Frederik's respect.

Relationship Note on Valencia
Princess Valencia Redrain is everything Frederik expects of a Velenosian fox, all smiles and pretty words hiding, Lord Steelhart suspects, ulterior motives. Still, Frederik certainly doesn't see her as an enemy.

Relationship Note on Sara
Steelharts tend to die, especially the ones who go out to fight. Due to this Frederik's more then a little protective of Sara, especially after the deaths of her mother and brother. Despite that, the Steelharts have a long history of military service, and Frederik knows a dog of war can't be caged.

Relationship Note on Gregor
While they were friends growing up, Frederik was always a little resentful that Gregor held his father's favor. The fact that he killed Padraig, Gregor's son, in an honor duel makes the relationship between the two that much worse. Still, it was Frederik who knighted Gregor, and he isn't taking the rank Sword of Highhill away from the man any time soon.

Relationship Note on Dominique
Kept at arm's length by the Marquessa, Frederik never held her ill will for it, due to the Steelhart's long history of kinslaying. However, when the alliance with the Darkwaters was made news, Frederik was very outspoken against it. Despite this, the Steelharts are loyal to their leige to a fault, and the eldest dog of war is no different.
