Things could have gone worse, they really could have. Nobody died at least. There is that. For that I am grateful. Not so much that my words have less reach. It is what it is, I will carry on and persevere. Nothing comes to those who do not struggle to see their dreams come true.

Even the attendants at the Storied Blade do excellent work. My new sword is a thing of beauty and of incredible craftsmanship. It may not have the history of my old charge, but it will have a history of it's own soon enough I am certain.

On the matter of wills:
I have a new diamondplate sword being forged in two days time. My own. Not belonging to anyone other than myself. Should I fall in the coming battle I wish it to go to my sister, Malika, that she might sell it and acquire a new ship and crew of her own to live free on the sea as she should.
My fireweave should be sold and the proceeds given to Mistress Aurora.
Everything else goes to Lady Miranda Rubino, except for the blue shirt, which goes to Mistress Sheena.
My blacks stay sealed. Unlike some believe I do keep my oaths until someone else breaks them.
Lies only have power when others act on them like they were truths.

I have a new hat.
Thanks to Mistress Aurora, it is most definitely, the finest hat I have ever owned. I shall have to break in this hat with utmost care. Or I can just treat it like a hat and see how it survives. I wonder if I should commission a shirt to match but... I will already be paying on this hat for some time.

I have been reminded that there is more alcohol than spiced rum. I am certain there are many but are there any as good? I am not certain any such thing can possibly exist. Since my arrival in Arx I have been fortunate enough to try many different types of spiced rum and all of them have their good qualities. I cannot say the same for other types of alcohol.

I have a little sister, Malika, and a little brother Nadir. Malika is everything I could have hoped for her to be. She is strong, forthright, suffers no fools, and more than a little bit dangerous. (Do not ever give her the means to make fire if you value your surroundings.) Nadir, I wish I could say I am as proud of him as I am of Malika. Perhaps if he applied himself to something more than what he has chosen to do I would have something to be proud /of/ but... he is the youngest of three of us. He has time.

I do not know you really after only meeting you once at the Gala so I understand that you do not know me and will take that into account in regards to you writings.
To debate would mean that multiple individuals would have to be interested in engaging in conversation about a topic. I shared my opinion, and I quantified it. There was no attempt to claim that my opinion was anything but an opinion. I do not seek to convince anyone else to share it. Everyone is welcome to their own opinions. I was not trying to debate my opinion.
Is there a rule in this city that I am unaware of that says it is unacceptable to respectfully disagree with someone's opinion?

A soldier follows orders. A person does not have to be a swordsman, or a combatant, to be a soldier. They just have to follow the orders of the organization they are in. Could a soldier be a warrior? Certainly. But a soldier is not defined by their skill at arms. It is their willingness to put the organization first.
Whether that is an army or military unit is irrelevant.
The blacksmith that works to fulfill the order that their organization requests of them is still a soldier for that organization.
