Relationship Note on Josephine

I cannot say I knew her well, but I knew her well enough. I knew her by her work. By the skill in it. Just as a painter can recognize the methods used by another... I saw who she was in her art.

I saw the traditional rules and methodology shaped to be her own. Each piece not needing a maker's mark because I saw what was undeniably hers.

She was wildly talented and a gracious leader.

I know some have spoken of me being one of the best jewelers to arrive to Arx, but Guildmaster Josephine: I do not think I shall ever compare.

I woke with a song in my head and the unsettling imagery it provoked.

There must have been a crow outside my window to inspire such thoughts.

Seven and twenty blackbirds,
All set down to die.

Didn't I hear something about dead crows not long ago?

The more I learn of the Nox'alfar, the less I understand.

Relationship Note on Felix

Years ago, while still an apprentice, I met a fellow apprentice when our Masters met and worked together.

I admit, I had a bit of a crush. But business ended and we parted ways. I never knew what happened to him until, shortly after arriving in Arx, I walked into Seaborn Weaponry and there he was. Ever since I arrived, he's been not only a stalwart support, but also a wonderful friend and companion.

The celebration he put on for my patronage was wonderful and more than necessary, by far. But it was also endearingly sweet and a pleasure.

Relationship Note on Symonesse

I came to the city with one goal: to become a recognizable name as an artist.

I seem to have achieved that in part for the commissions I receive wherein they are accompanied by a note that they were referred to me by another. People already wear my jewelry and I hear talk of it in the streets.

But today I think I may have taken the step on the path I was unaware I was being guided toward. The Queen herself has taken me as her protege. I will be not only her primary artist for jewelry, but she has also promised to introduce me to the artisans of the Twilight Court.

I keep expecting to wake up from a beautiful dream. The Twilight Court. Just the name hearkens to tales I heard as a child. Oh, but I can't wait to see what they might teach me!

The Black and White ball was the first I ever attended. Back in the village, we had parties, but nothing ever so grand. I'd only ever heard stories and now me... not only invited, but playing games and dancing with nobles.

And receiving invite from the Queen to discuss a possible commission.

I keep fearing I may wake up and find myself late for my daily chores, Absalom grumbling at me over his tea.

Once, Absalom told me that he always knew it was going to rain because my eyes would darken to the color of dulled metal just hours before the storms rolled in.

I don't know if he was telling the truth or not, but as spring arrives and brings with it the rain, I do find myself wondering.

My first collection.

My first collection in the city of Arx.

My first collection and already it has nearly sold out.

Ah, Absalom, if you could only see me now.

I have opened my own shop.

When I first set out for Arx, I had almost expected to find myself in an apprenticeship once again. After all, one hears of the great artisans in the city. Their skill, their knowledge, and oft their fame. But the Crafters Guild is supportive of even newcomers and here I am: a shop of my own.

(And wow, writing in the Archives. If only Absalom could see me- could see this place.)

I have already made sales, at that! I suspect I shall be busy here, but I am glad for it.
