Relationship Note on Rinel

Rinel, the goodwoman;

If your gaze could hold weight much like they beheld expectation, you'd have anvils for eyes. I was scarce on details about the sea in person due to reasons I'd rather not elaborate deeply, but know it esteems from a particularly selfish place unrelated to you or your demeanor.

Even those you agree with or find particularly likeable you'll learn to hate if you spend thirty, sixty, ninety days at sea with them. The most loving, the most thriving and welcoming of entities, you'll grow to scorn and disdain after you've found yourself staring at them dizzily, afternoon after the morning, having puked the remainder of your dinner out over the deck's edge due to hard rocking, product of hard stirring.

And don't let me get started on the wind. Some sailors prefer to hang their hammocks on the top deck, I'm not one of such sailors. And sometimes you won't, don't have a choice. And the cloth doesn't stop the wind from seeping in from below, so you'll feel as being caressed by a tedious, never-ending feel of wind on the flesh that's almost torture.

Stay away from boats. We're land creatures.

Relationship Note on Aureth

I had never wanted to write journals before, not until I met this man, and came to learn the meaning of a white journal. It was strange, there was so much I was prompted to want to tell him, but I couldn't. The words, wouldn't dare take the leap of faith out of my chest.

He was vulgar. His demeanor was coarse, at best- he chafed with every ingrained virtue beset upon me by my betters, masters and quartermasters alike. And yet, in that freedom of lexicon; in that loosening of thought, and carelessness to the judgement eye of others he manifested, I sampled perhaps for the first time what life entails for us all, beyond its hardships. A freedom of self, notwithstanding life's hardships, they're meant to be taken as part of the package, and one only hints at the clarity of such fact when in the company of such a man; of the Legate. Aureth, he said his name was.

I pray to no God in particular that come time - next time - in his presence, I am more than a jumble of insecurity, weakness and hesitation. I wish prayers were answered.

Please note that the scholars may take some time preparing your journal for others to read.
