Relationship Note on Abbas
While at the service to Mangata, I witnessed a man whom rumor would have me believe a monster give as honest and reverent an observance and offering of prayer as any who had come to the shore. It was a strange moment, to realize my own hubris and arrogance, in having thought to know the nature of the man whom I had never met, and who I knew nearly nothing of. I had later a moment to speak with him, a shared drink before he sparred against Astraea.
He is not the man I had expected. Not at all the monster rumor would suggest. He is a man of duty and necessity, and I envy him not at all the path he has walked or the decisions he has had to make.
No, I found him to be a man of duty, with a deep devotion to his house and to the Compact. At the shore, I prayed that like the shifting tide takes away the marks upon the beach, Mangata would allow me to set aside those preconceptions. In doing so, I found a man I would be honored to stand beside in defense of the Compact he seems to deeply care about.

Relationship Note on Astraea
Long journeys are definitely more pleasurable with a friend along to keep one company. The ride wasn't the most enjoyable I've ever been on, and some of the table and campside discussions were unsettling, but even so it was a pleasure to travel in your company. We shall have to do so again.

Relationship Note on Hana
I had hoped to have the opportunity to speak to Mistress Hana, after her work on correcting the balance of my sword. Time and events have conspired to keep me from doing so, thus far, but I shall retain the hope that I may express to her in person the pleasure I have at her efforts.
I can quite confidently say though that I have never held a more perfectly balanced and honed blade in my life, than the sword she returned to me.

I have never had my life threatened so many times in a single week.. I do rather wonder what I might have gotten myself into, though I have to say, I quite think it worth it. And at least the threats are all contingent upon things I don't actually intend anyway, so there's that.
Just how such a small person can swing such a big sword so hard though, is quite startling.
