Relationship Note on Raigner

I met a man today. Another Northlander. I must admit, I was charmed by him in ways that I still do not fully understand.

It seems that more of the Northlanders I've written have stopped returning my letters.

I do not want to think about the negatives, so I will simply assume the couriers failed to deliver, or receive. Or they've moved on. Both are far more preferable to the alternatives.

I curse my melancholic humours.

How is one to deal with loss?
To allow time to grow over with moss,
To temper against a glowing flame.

To lose one's self in endless rage,
To allow soft words to press against page,
Or allow self to be the focus of blame?

Perhaps a flurry of passion,
Taking to silence for a fashion,
It all returns to death's name.

Relationship Note on Grimgar

His Lordship continues to behave in a manner more befitting sanguine temperaments. Treatments seem to surround salves for bruises and bandages for cuts. Very few scarring, something his mother seems to covet in my work. I prefer this to treating illness, but there are some days I yearn for a more complex challenge. Thankfully, it does not come in the form of His Lordship's condition.

Entering the city was not hard, but proves to be a continuous challenge of tone.

My time outside of the folk of the cities continues to hamper my knowledge. A Lady of many titles warned me of something on the horizon that seemed troubling, but I don't have much fear of what's to come. My limited knowledge of current events simply makes it easier to watch.

I did meet a Lord, however. Olivian. Strange fellow that seems to think himself debauched, but hardly seems... Really quite of anything other than a strange man with time on his hands he doesn't seem to know what to do with. A charitable streak though.

We will see in the coming days what becomes of me.
