I was able to be truthful for once, to a new audience. In return, I learned more about people I didn't know of before, of hope, of falling stars, and rare things! Some topics of conversation will stick in my brain for a long time; like places you wouldn't want to have dragon scales.

In this city, it is easy to give away one's body in sexual lust and passion. It is not a surprise that around any corner, willing encounters are only but an ask away. What is harder, is the heart. After so many years in trying to find someone compatible with me, I thought there was hope. However, it seems that more is appealing than the comfort of one. And so I am single, again. Or maybe I always was. Less is more, as they say. Less is more.
Until we're talking about gold and silver, then more is always more. And that is where I shall be putting my focus towards.

The Lament of a merchant...
Sometimes the only way to get what you want is to be vicious about it. I have learned the markets here have no sympathy for the novice haggler trying to deal with these brokers, as goods sell for less than half of what they're worth on the open market. I'm unsure how any merchant makes a living in this economy, because even the sudden war inflation on goods hasn't eliminated the huge margin of loss that a merchant is taking trying to compete to make a sale. I'm not sure if it's the nobility or the other merchants that have pushed the prices far below their listed value, but it makes the work extremely hard to get into. With no other source of income but the market, I was living hand to mouth for the better part of a month.
This is why I'm looking for my own personal network of people who would need my particular services. I cannot give things away for free, but perhaps, we can partner and run a store or sail on expeditions to bring in unique items that no one else can haggle for. I do need another source of income outside Arx's volatile market.
