Theory is that there are worlds beyond this one. One in particular is the Shining Land where souls land before departing on to their next life. Some times they leave behind what's called a ghost. These are fun things to think about so I wonder if we suppose that this is correct, are ghosts simply reflections of the passing of our loved ones? An example of our effect on that world from this one. Can we then presume to be able to affect it likewise? Say to heal it.

I think a lot about the dead and while I understand that we live in some sort of wheel, not all of us make it through at the same pace. Some us linger, bound to the past. For one reason or another, afraid of letting go of their memories.

I would like to patron some sort of playwright. My mother always surrounded herself with the types. I remember being left behind when the men when off to sea and feeling sour and so mother would task me with organizing events. Something about choosing what rum or wine to serve, and what sort of entertainment to provide really kept my focus on productive manners and plus made me popular with everyone, even after I lost my sea legs.

Relationship Note on Mae
To see my name and my efforts at the State of the Compact was a very nice surprise but I believe I should speak a little bit more about Melaeris; there is no thralldom in Astarrea. House Melaeris has raised banners against House Thrax and House Tyde, many times before, in the name of abolishment of thralldom and while I greatly appreciate the peace we have found with our lady Duchess of Tyde, Lady Margot and the highlord of Thrax, Victus, we are opponents with very polarizing views, but not all battles need to be bloody and not all battles need to take place in the field. To resolve your differences in court, under the judgement of your peers and in a civil matter is a honorable and efficient compromise. Praise be to Gloria but if history is a lesson in life, our best option and only option has to be through diplomacy with respect towards the laws of the land.
I do not need to convince my niece for the end of thralldom because it's very abolishment is the purpose of our house. To light a flame in those who've had injustice done to them, to give them the tools they need to fight and to carry and pass on their flames so that those who see it become inspire to do the same.

Relationship Note on Vera
To be held in such high regard by my liege and my niece is the epitome of honor even after considering that to many of my peers, I am no longer a warlord but a soft, old, and crippled man bound to a desk out of pity. If only they knew... To be the only man in a room of strong and intelligent women is a very interesting predicament to be in. Especially when you feel like you need to prove who has the biggest balls. P.S, not me. They taught me humility, how to converge power through diplomacy, economics, and law. They taught me how to wage war (or wage peace as is the Melaeris way) across vast distances and while my injuries are the marks of punishment for crimes against Mangata, their burden is something I carry with pride as I seek absolution from my Goddess for my shortcomings. Being under the tutelage of our sisters, mothers, daughters, and niece is something we can not overlook. To this day, my beautiful niece and liege, teaches me the type of character one must strive to be, in order to lead our house. I couldn't be prouder.
