Today marks my last day in the Shrine Of The Thirteenth. What was strange, and honestly slightly creepy when I first arrived I now see as beautiful in it's own way. While I was here I was asked a question, by someone. I was asked that once I take my oath what if I found out about some horrible world ending thing happening in a black journal, what would I do? Would I break my vow? While the question took some thought. I came to the conclusion that, no, I don't see myself breaking it. We already prepare as much as we can for such a scenario also, I firmly believe that if we hold onto the things that makes us human. Like compassion, honor, bravery, kindness and yes, vows. Humans will always prevail. I believe it down to my bones. I believe it because because we're capable of so many things the Enemy is not. We're capable of putting others before ourselves, we have literal armies of good people who would and often do give their lives for the benefit of others. Because, every one of them understands that our civilization, our way of life is bigger than one person. One of the ways we ensure this is through The Scholars Of Velichor, we make sure that knowledge will be passed down to future generations, we understand that the passing of that knowledge is one of the major things that separate us from animals. It's what allows civilization to function, many of us make a joke of being a bunch of bookworms. While this is true, to me at least, we're also one of the cornerstones of our civilization, without knowledge passed down through the years we couldn't possibly achieve the level of comfort and knowledge that we're at today. The scholars know better than anyone what is lost when knowledge is lost. Our vows as scholars is what holds that together. So what would I do if faced with such an impossible decision? I would pray to the gods and trust my faith in them, and my faith in humanity. Also, can one honestly take a vow that they think they already have intention to break with good reason? I don't think so.

I've spent about a week in Arx at this point. Just passed the initial testing for the Scholars Of Velichor and things have been going well. Hope to start and complete my advanced testing soon. I've met a lot of great people, Marquis Fairen, my cousin has been nothing short of a godssend helping me get settled in. Lady Rosalie has been a delight to spend time with, both for her intellect and beauty. Princess Reese has been generous enough to let me look through her quite impressive library. She's also kind and insightful, though I don't think she realizes how much she is of either. My sister Lady Arcadia is still an all around bad ass and my sister Baroness Elloise still looks at everything around her with a near child-like wonder. Even if she is about to blow it up. Princess Coraline is still awesome and clumsy. Things have been good in Arx, I'm happy to be here.

Please note that the scholars may take some time preparing your journal for others to read.
