I arrived in the city and immediately stepped in a puddle and then I slipped straight onto my backside and soaked my dress in said puddle. This is not how I imagined my first day in the city. I was meant to waltz in, smooze with all the celebrities of the city, have people fall at my feet, chanting my name. But no. I am wet and dirty and I told someone they had smoldering hair and nice teeth.

On the upside, I met Prince Niklas's wife! I am one step closer to meeting THE playwrite. Omigosh!

I have returned to Arx. And like the last time I was here, the streets are cold and frosty and snowy. I dislike it.

On the other hand, spiced wine and roasted chestnuts. They don't soothe the sharply frigid edge of the weather, but they're certainly quite tasty seasonal fare. So there's that.

On a slightly unrelated (maybe?) note, I'm keeping this journal entry as light and harmless as a feather. Not even a sliver of a controversial opinion here. I want to get settled into the city before I start bickering with people over the whites.

First day in the city! It was snowy and freezing, which was an ominous start. The Sleepless Knights bar was cozy enough, though; they served me up hot milk without batting an eye! I was afraid of being seen as weak, or something. It's good, because nothing else really chases away the chills.

There were two strangers there, and they left an odd impression. One of them stood up, a burly man, and claimed his companion, a knightly looking lady, had twisted her ankle (at the table?). He proceeded to carry her off into the snow. Seemingly the rest of the bar, two guards and a bard, quickly followed them out. They hadn't interacted before that, though.

Anyway, I need to focus on finding my sisters, and also acquainting myself with the Wyrmguards here in the city. Marquessa Dominique set me up with a room, but I've hardly met her. And dear Yessica... she's probably up to trouble, in that way of hers.
