Sometimes all you need is a chance encounter to restore faith in possibilities. We live in a remarkable city, full of people and connections to be made.

Perhaps I'll have a big to-do at the Whisper House when the flowers begin to bloom. I think we all could use a bit of cheer in all the darkness, don't you? Time to wear our favorite gowns and feel the warmth of the sun on our faces.

I had met the Softest Anisha. An accurate title for quite the gorgeous woman. She came to welcome me back into the House, and has since then been really helpful to my readjustment. She has also brought a couple of things to my attention, including the knowledge to seek out Count Tibault Laveer if I wish to help the Lowers. I will seek him out once I have the chance to.

Oh Arx, it feels like I have been gone for too long. This will be a short entry for today. There is so much I have to do now that I have returned. So much to do, and so many to see. I cannot wait to see what will come of all of this.

Perhaps I should be relieved to know others share this strange dream of children singing and birds black as night, to know I am not the only one after reading the whites. But it's that very fact that troubles me so. Crows, songs, dreams. All such ominous conduits for greater things. Worse yet is how it sticks to the mind, those lyrics, that rhythm. I fear to sing it, even hum it, despite how desperately it tries to sit at the forefront of my thoughts. Whatever lay behind it shall not come of my voice.

A wondrous event at Elegant Impressions! A gorgeous steelsilk gown that gleamed like starlight was up for auction by the ever talented Mistress Talia and, to my delight, it happened to be a sister gown to my moonlight dress that I'm so terribly fond of. My sadness that I do not have the sunlight one, but I'm quite happy with two of these stunning outfits in my wardrobe now. I also commend Her Highness, Princess Alarissa Thrax for her bid against me, it was a very close battle. My purse will hurt a little, surely, but looking at this dress in the mirror more than soothes the sting. Now to find the perfect accessory to match!

Relationship Note on Selene

Of all the garments I own, none have been such a perfect blend of beauty and danger, making this one quickly become one of my favorites. I can't imagine how careful you had to be in order to sew in those aconite blossoms, my dear, but your efforts more than shine through on such a beautiful gown. Now I just need to be careful not to hug anyone while wearing it...

We're nearly neighbors now, this is wonderful! Congratulations on the new home, it's a great thing to have your own space. Expect plenty of visits now that you're so near!

Attending the Artshall Spring Fete today was simply delightful! Duke Cristoph Laurent outdid himself, especially with the dance competition he arranged. Princess Zara was a wonderful dance partner, though the victory ultimately went to Lady Jael and Princess Gwenna who posed quite a challenge. Still, my congratulations to them, it was a well earned win.

At least it gives me the opportunity to offer my patron some dance practice, to which I eagerly await the day. It should be quite fun!

Today's hunt, generously sponsored by Princess Zara Valardin and Princess Tikva Grayson, was a magnificent display of skill on the part of the participants. It's been some time since I last spectated one, but one can never forget the thrill of it. I doubt I will ever be as skilled with large weapons as they, but maybe in time I might learn the bow, which Princess Tikva was so kind to offer.

I have such deep gratitude to Princess Zara, however, for the stunning outfit she provided me that I was able to show for her at the feast. She has a mind for fashion I can't help but admire.

Princess Reese took first place for felling a mighty stag while Sparte Grayfallow took second. Sir Jeffeth took third for taking down the black boar, though from what I hear he wrestled it with his bare hands? An impressive and dangerous feat on its own, surely.

All in all an eventful day, I would say. Though one born of the city, I quite enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. I'll have to make a note to plan for more outings soon just so I can experience more of it.

Today I chanced a trip to the Grotto for a bit of relaxation. It was quite a treat to see Warrick there when I arrived. We seem to be bumping into one another often, which I don't mind at all. But as much as I would have enjoyed a quiet soak with him, the baths began to fill up quick with others looking for a steamy getaway. It was quite boisterous and delightful, with each visitor grander than the next.

This is also where I was able to speak with Sir Jeffeth who, interestingly enough, I haven't spoken to since we were children. He hasn't changed at all from his kind self, something uncommon in this world. But it was wonderful to see him again and I hope to catch up more with him.

Also, apparently I am 'fully developed', so I'm told.

After a brief vacation outside the city, I returned just in time for some riveting events. First of the day was a duel between Princess Zara and Lord Cahal with their acting champions Sir Jeffeth and Princess Sorrel respectively. It was quite a show of jousting skill.

While there I was invited to Princess Tikva's birthday celebration by Warrick, a guard I've known in passing and find to be amusing company. As expected, Princess Tikva's event was no small thing, very lavish and fun with more jams than I thought possible to be in one place at a time. Even King Alaric made an appearance.

It was here I saw Princess Zara again and we spoke more personally, inviting me for more talks in the future. I look forward to the day and what opportunities it may bring.

It has been a very busy week of interviewing with potential patrons, with each one being eminently suitable and wonderful and I have no idea how I will choose. There must be some less wonderful people SOMEWHERE in this city. Decisions are hard! But I have promised I will interview with all interested parties before making a decision, so that buys me a little more time. If you are excellent at making challenging decisions, I need your help!

I went to the Splashfest event this past week and it was wonderful! I've never seen such a decadent set of terrace pools, and the party itself was light and fun and everything that such an event should be. Lady Kalani and Lord Kaldur do much credit to their House.

Relationship Note on Joscelin

There is nowhere that sends me into raptures more than Atelier Joscelin. I spent a good part of my day there yesterday, staring appreciatively at every sparkle to catch my eye. It has taught me the value of saving my coin, expressly for the purpose of owning such works of art and beauty.

Soon, sweet necklace. Soon.

I had an exceptionally lovely time at Princess Valencia's Golden Hart for a fundraiser recently, and was privileged to sing alongside Gianna Whisper. I daresay the world is not ready for that again anytime soon. I'm not sure I am, either!
Lord Aethan Kennex was a most admirable escort to the event, and I believe he's learned the art of the true compliment, for I don't think I've had one quite so unique before. I feel as though he has set a very high bar.
