The new line of more fashionable attire at Spirit Leathers has been doing very well indeed. Perhaps that is an angle that the shop needs to work more often. Of the four dresses that were put up for sale, only one remains. I doubt it will be here much longer.

I've been working on becoming better at animal training this week. Hopefully it will turn out to be well worth the time invested for the Crimson Blades. At least Khan isn't eating the leather anymore.

Over the next week I think I'll be adding some leather belts, both fashionable and sword belts, along with some leather hand bags, backpacks, and satchels.

The prices of exotic leather are seeming like they'll be coming down any time soon. If anything, I suppose it will get more expensive. I'll just have to keep at it, and perhaps someday I'll turn enough profit to craft a full set.

I continue to be amazed at the continued support of the locals of Arx in my business. Every time I believe that I draw nearer to working myself out of a job... more work comes in the door. It is a good problem to have, and to all of my customers, I am very thankful for your support.

I have joined with the Lodge of Petrichor recently. I believe that this will be a more fitting group for me, than the other groups that follow the Pantheon Gods. Being in the wild... enjoying the hunt... protecting the sacred places. This is what I have always wished to do.

Khan. A new dog I have taken mastership over since joining with the Blades. He's a smart beast, but there are times when I wonder if he's just too big. He blunders into everything trying to play, knocking over a few of my armor stands down in the shop.

I've officially joined with the Crimson Blades. I am going to be operating under a support role as animal trainer, medic, and leather armor smith, but still it is a step that I had not been sure that I would take at first. We'll see how it goes.

Business at Spirit Leather
It has been surprising the amount of work that I have received at the shop. I am eternally grateful to those who have come and entrusted me with their orders and given me the chance to prove myself as a crafter. I had not foreseen this life for myself even a year ago, but I am thankful for the direction that my life has gone. I have created and sold one full set of high quality leathers, and have a mask on order for someone else. The Crimson Blades will be sending me their work as well. I can already see that I will be very busy.

Rules...
Rules are a funny thing, when you consider them. Whatever the reason is, whoever the issuer is, they are only as good as the loyalty or respect one has for the rule-giver. If someone issues me a rule, and they have nothing that I want or have earned themselves no loyalty to endear me to their cause... well then, I can tell them what their rules are worth.
Still, though. If there is suitable reason to wish to follow a set of rules, I suppose that is a different matter all together. Different faith systems, different honor systems that one pledges themselves to, all of these things things with all of their rules seem only as good as the /desire/ to continue following them.
If my passions and desires dictate which rules I value enough to follow, then reason stands that /I/ make my own rules.
Maybe I've found a few worth following. For a time...

I've been considering lately the merits and shortcomings of opening a leatherworking shop. On one hand, there is the hope that it would be a solid source of income, and I certainly need to find one of those. On the other hand, I worry that owning a shop might tie me down and restrict me from doing the other things that I wish to do.
In any sense, I have been given the name of the Lady that runs the Crafters Guild here in Arx. Perhaps I will speak with her and see what it is that she recommends.

Returning to Arx from the North has been a swirl of happenings that I've only barely been able to keep up with. Violet knows so many people, and they all seem to love her. It seems odd, in a way, but then in another it makes me happy that she has so many friends. After how our lives were growing up, it makes me feel good to know that she has found so many people that lover her.
